Terra @ Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado
Lunch: Monday - Sunday: 11:30am - 2:00pm
Dinner: Monday - Sunday: 5:30pm - 10:00pm
Very nice experience, as usual. Staff are knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Bus boy was a bit awkward and poured water on the table trying to fill glasses more than once. At least it wasn't the wine! Otherwise, a very professional and enjoyable evening.
We had a Groupon for lunch that helped to hold down the cost. That paid for two small plates, two entrees and two coffees. Would have cost over $90 from the menu for only $39. The food was excellent. Very nice presentation and very tasty. Our only complaint was that the bartender was either too busy (there were less than 16 diners in the restaurant) or extremely slow. He was quick to pour wines, but my wife ordered a house Margarita when our entrees arrived and the drink arrived when we were finished eating. Next time we'll order wine by the glass.
I read that they were listed with the best view in New Mexico, it didn't disappoint! New Mexico is known for its scenic views so the standard is very high and if you only go for a cocktail, the drive is worth it. The food, however was fantastic, so stay for dinner! Great options, perfect seasoning and the steak was cooked to perfection! Checking the average price for a bottle of wine, we were very pleasantly surprised to find the mark-up was very reasonable, only about 39%. Terra it's my new favorite Santa Fe restaurant.
Had a drink at the outside bar followed by dinner al fresco protected from any breeze so very pleasant. Our waitstaff were Jamie and Jaime. Could not have been more charming, delightful or accommodating. We had steak, corn side dish, watermelon salad. For dessert we had in-house made graham crackers, home made marshmallows (who knew?) and chocolate sauce with a special little burner to roast the marshmallows on our table! (I am not making this up!). We commented on the way home it was one of the best dinners and most enjoyable evenings we could remember in a long time.
Perfect place for a romantic, intimate anniversary dinner.
Great to meet Chef Kai and his team of sous chefs while going into the kitchen for excellent breakfast buffet. Quality both days excellent. Service was Kody was exceptional, our best and friendliest server in New Mexico all week. He could give some pointers to his co-workers on social skills and responsiveness. Had some difficulties getting some basics from his colleagues, but he was meticulous in detail. One young woman seemed to have trouble working in a team, noisily moving tables by herself, and broke a vase. Clearly a case where asking for/accepting for help was imperative. Quality of breakfast foods excellent: flaky croissants, berry jam by request, Green Machine juice.. Looked forward to breakfast both days. Dinner was serviceable before the opera.
A really lovely dinner. Wonderful view and excellent food- the Carribean prime rib was outstanding. The service was personable and knowledgable. Looking forward to coming back.
Reunion with friend
You'd expect the dining experience at the only restaurant at the Four Seasons to be special. We can give them a little break for being the only restaurant on property having to take care of breakfast, lunch and dinner but it is, after all, the four seasons and we really should expect more- at least they charge more. Everything about the property is magnificent, the restaurant is simply confused. Reservation or not, they struggle to keep tables clean so always (at least for the 4 days I was there) have to "find" or "clean" a table even with a reservation. Once seated, service is so slow that for one breakfast, patrons actually served each other coffee when tables were ignored for 15 minutes or longer. Food was equally slow to arrive. For one lunch (we sat down at 12:40PM), the wait staff apologized that "the kitchen was switching from breakfast to lunch" and that was causing the delay. We had salads that apparently took 40 minutes to make-by the way. Wait staff were always very pleasant and accommodating, there were just never nearly enough of them and they we always apologizing. View from the bar and patio is amazing and the food is actually good to very good but very expensive and so very, very slow.
The best view -- especially the outside seating -- of any restaurant in the Santa Fe area. Really liked the food and drink and ambiance. Service was outstanding. Fully enjoyable evening all the way around.
It was our first visit to Terra. A very pleasant surprise! The setting is beautiful. We had a delicious dinner. Service was excellent. The noise level was minimal, allowing for a quiet conversation. Nice for a special occasion.
Amazing food and experience, highly recommend.
Salsa and guac was bland. Watermelon salad refreshing! Steak for 2 was perfectly tender. Chef cooked half to my liking and half to my dinner companion's liking. Brussels sprouts were delicious but salty. Mac and cheese was great. Our waitress was a great server right down to changing out water where a fly had landed unnoticed. Christine accommodated our seating wishes! Very nice ambience. I would return!
Everything was outstanding. I'm a very fussy person and not one
thing could have been better. Would recommend to anyone.
The best enchilada in New Mexico! Great service, great food!
Food was "OK" but nothing special. Luncheon menu was so limited and unimaginative as to be a real disappointment. We found the service to be slow and confused.
Very limited menu. Unreliable service. Great views of the mountains at sunset and s’mores on Sat nights.
Anniversary—desert was on the house
Beautiful sunset! Very nice experience. Wait staff excellent.
Had an anniversary lunch these this week - took a while to find a server - which i think should be unusal for this class resort.
The food is outstanding - tacos and the signature burger (perhaps the best burger in Northern New Mexico!
Service still sucked - long wait for food and check. They need to address this.
From the reservation until we were greeted goodbye, the staff was incredible, fun, and efficient.
Oh my goodness! We had the most wonderful experience at Terra! The evening we spent there made my birthday truly special!
We stayed at Rancho Encantado during the lull between Easter and Memorial Day. We loved the facility and panoramic night sky. Also, all staff people were efficient and friendly. We ate in Santa Fe all but our last night when we reserved a table at Terra at Encantado. Our waiter was very attentive and an exceptional young man. The wine was wonderful and poured generously. My butternut squash soup was muddy and without a developed depth of flavor. Our fish entree (Snook, the nightly special) was served on a bed of white couscous with a wad of oily cooked spinach, and smelled very fishy when it arrived at the table. We ate the fish, but agreed it was worth driving into Santa Fe for dinner. Breakfasts and lunch at Terra were very good, however. The view from the restaurant is beautiful, except for an odd red metal sculpture marring the overlook.
Very limited menu! Food was good, service was very good.
Second time we had long wait for food and arrived warm not hot . Restaurant wasn’t crowded .
Great restaurant. Beautiful setting. Great food. It was the best hamburger. Well worth the drive.
Beautiful restaurant. Ate here for lunch during restaurant week. Everything was amazing
I had visited Rancho Encantado 10 years ago, and it was a very charming "hacienda". It is certainly NOT that now. Even though it's a Four Seasons hotel, it's lost all its charm, and I would never drive out there again to eat (or drink, or stay) there. It was under-whelming, to say the least. I was expecting so much more. We were staying at the Inn of the Anastazi (downtown Santa Fe, on/next to the Plaza). Now that's charming and a wonderful place to stay. Not so with the Four Seasons (although we didn't stay there, and didn't see the rooms). The restaurant - Terra - was plain and stark.
Exceptional appetizers and desserts. Main courses were a bit disappointing. Salmon had a competing, complex sauce and veggies that masked the clean taste of the salmon, which also was cooked a more than I had asked for (med rare became med and my friends med request was too cooked as well). Good value, though, as we went during restaurant week. The Pinot Noir recommended by our fine waiter was very good and he was an excellent waiter (Michael).
Beautiful space, beautiful setting. Went for lunch during restaurant week. The place was almost empty so we picked seats with a view of the Jemez. I love tortilla soup so I had to start with that and is was great but more a tomato base than what I find normally. Had a huge sandwich of turkey and several thousand other ingredients. Very good but I almost couldn't even eat a half cause, as I always do, I ate the truffle oil, parmigiano fries (the fries are best when hot...the sandwich was cold and could wait) which were fabulous...and I'm picky about my fries. Just the right balance between potato inside and fried on the out.
It's also not as far outside of town as I tought...15 minutes from the north side.
Good service. Complicated by the lack of customers...fewer reasons to go to the floor and check if anything was needed. But everything was timely.
The deliciousness of the food was out-done by the spectacular view of the mountains!! But I'd return for just the food - it was that good. And our waitress, Amber, was a delight and very accommodating. The tortilla soup was deeply satisfying and beautifully presented. Terra serves organic and local.
We were there for restaurant week and as always a delight evening!!! Two of the group are vegan and the choice was Devine!! Thanks so much for a fab evening!!
We had an exceptional meal. Every dish was prepared perfectly. The pork loin, the farro, the desserts... all amazing.
The wine list was lengthy and offered many higher priced options but fewer moderate. Additionally, they were out of 5-6 different selections we chose.
Santa Fe does not have a better place for service or view. The food was also very good. Everyone should go there for the sunset and experience.
Celebrated a cozy and romantic Valentine Day Dinner in Terra’s gorgeous dining room. The silver coin margarita was excellent as was most of the special meal. Great effort is placed on using local & farm to table ingredients.
I’d rate the service a 5, but my drink was removed before I was quite finished. Staff really should ask before they remove items. Also, I would recommend that fresh flowers be placed on the table for a Valentine’s Day dinner to add to the festive spirit.
All in all though, we had a lovely experience and hope they keep up the good work!
The food, ambience and service were unfortunately very disappointing.
Perfect date night. The food was delicious. The wine paired perfectly with the food thanks to the recommendations of the sommelier. The meal was topped off with the delicious New Mexican Hot Chocolate. What a treat.
We had a cob salad that was delicious. The service was very good as well. Quiet lunch in the bar. Beautiful setting.
