The food here is amazing. I tried their honey chicken and it was excellent. Definitely would order it again. The only issue we had was wait times were a bit long. Waitress was kind and offered more bread as we hadn’t finished our dip. Highly recommend visiting this restaurant!

Food is always good. Service can be iffy. Today was fine as restaurant wasn't very busy. Received email re: new chef and brunch menu so wanted to try it out. Brunch lasts til 3pm. our reservation for 4 was at 1:15 pm. Andouille biscuits and gravy was on menu. Biscuits were available but no gravy even though it wasn't close to end of brunch (3 pm).

The waitress was trying to run the hostess station and wait on us at the same time. Our beignet order did not arrive before our food as requested and the beignets and or food or both lukewarm. Why have the curtain up? It’s an awful ambience.

Food was good however the brussels were difficult to eat. They were served in a bowl however you have to cut the stem off…difficult in a bowl. And the knife wasn’t capable of the job. Table Service was really slow however the meal came out quickly. The wine by the glass options are limited and predictable….cabs, pinots, etc.

My brunch was excellent. The attention to a New Orleans brunch menu was wonderful, but, Kent, you are such a maestro at this, surely you need to upgrade the coffee that you serve with the fine food. Espresso, French Press, please, something more than boring bland drip coffee from a thermos, the food, the decor, the service, the attention to detail begs for that level of commitment to the coffee....It's brunch!! And lastly, turn the music down a notch, the restaurant hosts enough echo due to the high ceilings and industrial type decor, no reason to challenge guests ability to talk comfortably, the scene has enough lovely vibe with the loud music.

Tavern on Kruse is the absolute BEST - best food, best service, best environment!! This evening, we were able to share the evening with our daughter and her college roommates visiting from Nebraska. The team made us all feel so special and food and beverage were outstanding!

We LOVE Tavern and have been so many times with wonderful experiences, but last night, not even our positive experiences could keep us from being disappointed. They had an issue with their reservation system, which is ok, beyond their control, we understood. We were hurriedly seated at a two top right by the front door with the curtain and wind blowing at us. I won’t go into full details, but the staff was quite frazzled and we had trouble getting service the rest of the evening. We contemplated leaving before we even ordered. Again, we know Tavern is great, but for our special late Valentine’s dinner we were disappointed. Though the food was delicious as always.

Wasn’t too impressed with the swordfish meal. Waitress said it was popular. It just wasn’t great. I have dined here many times and have always enjoyed it. This was a little disappointing. I was also alone and it was late so I will give that disclaimer.

The hamburger wasn't very good in my opinion. It was to soggy and I ordered it well done but it was still red on the inside. The Manhatten was good but the price compared to your competition was to high.

Food was excellent. Service was mediocre. I understand that it’s extremely difficult to find workers yet maybe some training is needed. We were barely greeted by the hostess; might have said I’ll get your table ready. That’s it!! While we were relieved to not be seated in the noisy bar high top table area, our table for 4 was small. Didn’t have much room for drinks, starters, & entrees—Particularly since food wasn’t cleared promptly. Water glasses were not refilled unless asked. Server did not mention that refills were available for soft drinks, we asked. One person in our party got fried chicken. If he had known when he ordered that he could have changed his side he would have. Server noticed he didn’t eat his greens then let him know. But, a different side was not offered at that point. Ordered speciality cocktail: response out of that. Ordered pork cheeks: response out of that. Could have suggested another similar entree. All that said, food was really good. Will we return? Probably not.

I made a last minute reservation for a pre-Valentine’s dinner to celebrate the night before. We started with cocktails (a vodka lemon one & a whiskey something), both were very tasty. Crab artichoke dip had lots of crab, not much artichoke and was very loose, but very creamy and flavorful. We each ordered burgers and shared. Ahi burger was really good and the crispy avocado was a unique touch, could have had a little more wasabi aioli. The bacon burger was delicious with a touch of char on the burger and the smoked blue cheese was SO good. We were seated by the door which made for a chilly meal, so that was a bummer. The bar area is beautiful with a cool vibe. We’ll go back when it’s warmer and maybe they’ll have the roll up doors open!

Our meal was delicious. Service was noticeably inattentive. We were never offered a warmup on our coffees, and I had to track down our server to get to-go boxes and our bill, despite repeated attempts to get her attention. Her section had only half of her tables seated. The section next to us was completely full and their server was constantly visible and checking in with her customers.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with how friendly everyone was! Incredible server with the best, most upbeat personality! We sat at the chef’s counter and were drooling over all of the amazing looking brunch dishes! Food was incredible as always! Our favorite local brunch spot!
