About this restaurant

A family run venture on London’s famous Lavender Hill, the Tarragon Persian Bar and Kitchen is owned by husband and wife Kami and Simin, both originally from Iran but now well known faces in the Clapham community. With fifteen years running restaurants under their belts, Kami and Simin have opened Tarragon as an almost unique venture in to serving Persian food in a contemporary atmosphere. Unlike other Persian restaurants in the capital Tarragon strives to offer a bright, modern setting in which your dining experience is enjoyed. The stunning bistro-style dining room has a real feeling of space and traditional touches are given a quirky twist in the Persian-print banquettes and stone baking oven which sit alongside an open bar space and ultra-modern tables. Tarragon’s menu is made up entirely of traditional Persian dishes, incorporating both familiar kebab grills with their healthy, charcoal grilled flavour, to the authentically spiced stews inspired by Persian home cooking.

It was my first time dining at Tarragon on Lavender Hill in Battersea. I've walked past it dozens of times, but it always looks a bit too bright in there and it's never busy. I happened to stumble across a review recently, which rated it very highly, so thought I'd check it out. Very glad I did. The food is incredibly good and portions generous. Nice little touches like the flatbread being made and baked front-of-house make it feel special. I will definitely be going back as everything on the menu sounds delicious and my only regret was that I didn't eat more! Well worth a visit, even if this isn't your neighbourhood.

We booked a table for dinner at this restaurant couple of nights ago and we were so pleased with our choice and only we wish that we would discovered this place before. A beautiful place, well decorated with polite and friendly staff. The food are excellent and the value is the best. We will go back again and we recommend this restaurant to everyone.

I went to Tarragon for my birthday dinner, and was thoroughly impressed by the food and the service. it is not the biggest restaurant in the world, but it still feels very spacious. The staff there were very attentive and polite. The portions of food are very generous, and extemely tasty. My friends and I tried a range of their main meals, and enjoyed them all. I however was not very impressed with the selection of starters, as a lot of them contained either yogurt or cheese which I could not eat; but if you're not lactose intolerant this will not be an issue for you. My only issue with this restaurant was at 11am instead of telling us they were closing, they made the lights flicker. Overall, it's a wonderful restaurant with amazing food.

Deserves to be more busy than it is. Service efficient and friendly and food is interesting and well prepared. Good value thanks to TT discount.

...with nice food: a whole array of dips and a delicious stuffed pepper. Pretty good for vegetarians (though more mains would have been better) but excellent meat. Definitely worth trying, at least once.

Considering all of the great reviews I was really expecting the food to be great here. The ambience was non existant, the owners of the restaurant and their friends were the only fellow diners. The mezze started was fair but I was very disappointed in the main course, the lamb stew I had was tasteless and served with a mountain of rice. I won't be back.

Went for lunch in a group of 7 of us and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Th mixed starter plate was perfect for sharing, wine was reasonably priced and portions for mains were huge! Desserts - we had some baklava and palooda, neither were great so wouldn't bother next time. We were the only ones there so a few minus marks for ambience, but overall really enjoyed it.

I was really impressed with the food at Tarragon. Really tasty and authentic. However they gave me chicken and I am a vegetarian as apparently chicken is not meat! My boyfriend agreed with them we have since fallen out.
