   Overall we had an amazing experience at Tarpon Bay. The bar area was very noisy - they were all having an excellent time there!!! We sat a good way away from that so we could talk with our family. Food was very good - great selection. Waiter was excellent, friendly and efficient. One negative - the A/C was cranked up so high, we were freezing, so take a jacket or sweater with you!!

   We had a wonderful dinner. The service and seafood were excellent. Casual dining for most but I enjoy wearing a dress and my husband long pants and nice shirt. it was my husbands birthday and I couldn't think of a better place to celebrate his day. Cant wait to return for another wonderful evening.

   We were at a table for two in the very back of the restaurant and still could barely hear each other. There’s not one piece of sound absorbing fabric in the entire place. For that expensive a dinner, I exact at lest a touch of ambiance. If you’re looking for a nice dinner and a headache, this is definitely the place. I’ve had quieter dinners at Disney World!

    Really wanted a steak however the only option on the menu was $110.00 so I passed .Half way through our meal I hear the waitress inform another patron there was a 8 ounce filet on the specials that was not in the menu , however the waitress failed to inform us . The short rib ravioli was terrible as you needed a steak knife to break through the fried dough surrounding the short rib filling. My pork chop was outstanding however they drowned it in some salty white gravy which killed the flavor . Overall the apple cobbler for desert was our best course .

    I thought I made wedding Anniversary plans with a lemon cake for my wife and requested a nice table. There was absolutely no recognition of our anniversary ,no cake and nothing special about where we were seated. Our server was excellent and the food was very average. We both were disappointed with the overall experience.

    We had an excellent experience. It was our last night at the resort and decided to try Tarpon out. We were not disappointed! The food and service were outstanding. I highly suggest trying this restaurant out, even if you are not staying at the resort.

    There were four adults and two minors. We all enjoyed our food. Have not been here since pre pandemic and we noticed all of the changes to the facility. It looks very fresh. Sorry that you have eliminated the Sunday brunch. It was fantastic!

    Frequented many times in the past. Was one of our favorite places to go. They recently changed outside dining, the decor and the menu. It wasn’t broke, why fix it? We arrived 6:15pm and was served our entree at 7:45. There is now no rush to return. Such a shame to see a great place become mediocre.

    Salmon entree was delicious. Tuna and salmon ceviche very good. They changed the lobster macaroni and cheese. Not nearly as good as the old recipe!! Please bring that back. Jason is an awesome server. Ask for him if you can. Very attentive and knows the menu inside out! We sat in the new patio area, was not impressed! There was an echo and not appealing. The hostess tried to seat 4 different parties there and they all went back into the main dining area!!

    Service quality started out acceptable, but waitstaff still appears thinly staffed, so service quality vastly improved as the crowd thinned out during the evening ultimately becoming very good. At peak customer levels, the poorly designed restaurant acoustics created a noise level so high, it was very difficult to conduct conversations at our table even though there were no boisterous or obnoxious groups. The food offerings are varied. Half of our table’s food preparation did not meet expectations as a fish dish while fully cooked, was not pan seared on both sides, and a steak was cooked a bit more than medium, but acceptable. Given the fine dining and price levels of this restaurant, I would have expected more attention to food preparation from the kitchen. Desserts were mediocre, and would be passed upon if we visited again.

    What happened???!!!!! The reason we enjoyed going to the restaurant was the ‘Olde Florida’ feel that served very good seafood. Now, although well done, the decor is very “island’. Nice, but, oh, so average. The food was very mediocre. Although the appetizers were good, the mains were not. The scallops were in a ‘mess’ of sauce but edible. The grouper was disappointedly dry. It is supposed to be a moist, succulent mouth feel with a very fresh taste. Not in this case. So, overall, the food was nothing to ‘write home about’. The atmosphere, which I started talking about at the start of this critic, was very uncomfortable. It was very, very noisy. The two of us couldn’t even have a conversation without having to yell at one another or repeat two or three times to be heard. It was a busy night at the restaurant, but that should not mean that this happens. The acoustics are off here. There were two tables of 4 people, and two tables of 2 people in our area. The four groups were just enjoying themselves in conversations but that created a very uncomfortable, noisy, and ‘cringe worthy’ environment. This restaurant is trying to be a ‘5-star’ restaurant, with 5-star prices but in a cafeteria style eatery. We won’t be back. Side note - the wait staff who looked after us was, however, exceptional. She, definitely, is a ‘five star’ !

    Tarpon Bay is one of our favorite restaurants. We frequented the establishment before the renovations and this is our first time back since the reopening. They never disappoint!!! We love everything about Tarpon Bay. What a wonderful world it would be if other restaurants follow their lead!

    Three meals in order of preference: snapper Diablo (excellent), bacon wrapped grouper (excellent) and swordfish with grains (nice but overcooked). Enjoyed our meal and will go back.

    Oysters dry. Served in a bowl that doesn’t allow them to sit flat and all the brine dumps out. Everything else was 5 stars.
