In Spain & Portugal Tapas are considered a culture. Shared amongst friends in a relaxed and unhurried environment, to be combined with wine, lively conversation, tall tales and spirits!
Our Tapas Menu offers "Small Dishes" reflecting the modern fusion flavours of Portugal & Spain. Dishes are designed for two people to share, we suggest 2—3 dishes per person as a meal.

We went for dinner on a slow Sunday night and had the whole upstairs to ourselves. It was a very romantic evening with exceptional service and amazing food. Plan to be there for at least a couple of hours to take full advantage. The whole experience was wonderful!! Highly recommended!!
Thank you, Tapas! You've done it AGAIN! Wonderful staff (truly amazing service), incredible food (as always), warm ambiance (such a festive place to be), and so careful with my severe Celiac and dairy allergy. Eating out is stressful for me, but you make it beautiful. What a memorable birthday.
So VERY, VERY GRATEFUL, ;-)
I've been to Tapas three or four times now and every visit has been amazing. Excellent, friendly waitresses who are easy to talk to, and since the restaurant is so small it's easy to get a hold of them. The food is to die for. I am not afraid to try new dishes at tapas because I know it will be excellent. Highly recommend this place, especially if you want to impress your date!
Amazing! Had the chef's tasking menu and each dish was better than the last. Wil definitely be coming back!!
Great Good food
Need to have more description on how to order & an explanation of which order to order in? Excellent food tho .
We have eaten here many times - we keep coming back because of the quality of the food and the service. This is a tapas (small plates/sharing) restaurant. The chef changes the menu up on an ongoing basis. There is a good variety of wines to choose from. We like the intimate atmosphere, and the ability to talk to your table guests.
Service was really terrible our waiter was just so slow had to constantly call him over, didn’t offer drinks took ages to bring water, we were really really disappointed and we eat out all the time at lots of different style restaurants and had been really looking forward to it the charcuterie board is also a massive disappointment for $40 I think it is the worst I’ve had. The mussels with chorizo however and the Serrano ham and cheese croquettes are incredible and the best I have had
Our experience at Tapas was very memorable, the atmosphere was comfortable and the history of the building was fascinating. The food was phenomenal and the service was second to none. The server was very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall 5 out of 5 dining experience. I highly recommend Tapas to anyone travelling through Canmore.
Fantastic service, perfect food and well balanced cocktails! We will definitely come back.
Food had a lot of flavour! Chicken, gnocchi, mushrooms, beets, carrots and tostadas were delicious. Wouldn’t order the mussels again, leeks over powered the dish and found the mussels to be gritty. Would’ve like to enjoy more wine however not economical and hard to order a bottle when everyone has different preferences. All in all we still recommend and will definitely come back! Thank you Tapas!
We wanted something special as we don't get to go out for dinner very often with a little one in tow so we decided on Tapas for a unique treat! It did not disappoint!!! The food was incredible and of the best quality! If you like this type of dining arrangement (each dish is served one at a time in small to medium sized portions), then you will love this place! The decor and atmosphere is great for special occasions, and the service is excellent! This restaurant will cost you quite a bit more than what you're probably used to but this is not just your ordinary dining establishment either. It's a true gem tucked away in Canmore! We recommend it!
Our food was outstanding and the wait staff were very knowledgable and timely. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will go back for certain.
Not that these guys need another stellar review, but here we go...
Went in blind with the tasting menu, and was blown away by every dish. Pretty much needed a wheelbarrow to get out of the joint.
Substantial wine list, great service, and helpful pairing tips as we soldiered on through the menu.
It ain’t cheap, but the experience is worth every penny.
We travelled from Calgary for a night’s stay in Canmore and was recommended Tapas by a colleague. The restaurant was small and quaint - we were sat upstairs where it was very intimate. Perfect for a date night! Food was delicious and well presented, as were the drinks. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even from the moment we walked in. Would definitely recommend; we will be back.
Food and experience was awsome! Would recommend it to anyone visiting canmore!
Another great experience at Tapas restaurant. Visited for the first time a year ago celebrating anniversary, and returned this year. Made a Reservation *(recommended), and had another great night out. Food was exceptional like previous dining experience, with new menu items, same great service, and left feeling satisfied.
Fantastic - food, service, ambience - all amazing.
By far the best place to eat in Canmore. Amazing service, food, and wine list. Never a bad choice
Presentation and taste make Tapas worth the every penny.
Excellent food. Wonderful flavours. Really good wine list. A fantastic meal with an awesome vibe to the place. I recommend without hesitation
My new favorite restaurant in Canmore. It's the best restaurant in town so far! I loved everything! All the Tapas were amazing ( it was difficult to define which one was the best), the wine was great and the service was excellent!!! 5 stars without any doubt!
It's a must go in Canmore, if you enjoy delicious and exotic food.
A great point for me, is that all the food was very tasty and not super spicy; I definitely recommend this place 100%
Outstanding food and lovely service. Would definitely go back.
Great spot. Make a reservation. Unique combinations. Very fresh.
Great dinner! We were an hour late for our reservation after being stranded in a 4hr closure of Hwy1! They were very understanding and accommodating. We had the chef's special. Every dish was fantastic except for the entree; roast duck, as it was under cooked. Otherwise everything was great!
Great food, intimate atmosphere and a great place to have a date night.
Fabulous all the way around! Our waitress Nicole was outstanding in suggestions regarding the menu. The food was a tastebud extravaganza! From the gnocchi to beef tartar, cheese selections, vegan options - what a treat! We will be back again when travelling to Canmore.
We ordered the expensive tasting menu. Most of it was vegetarian. When the final beef entre came out, the meat was really poor quality, extremely chewy, and lacked flavor. Seriously dissapointing considering the premium cost of the tasting menu. Service wasn't the best. We continued to have to prompt our servers to remove dirty plates or empty glasses from the table.
Great Food! This was an amazing night filled with great food. Roof upstairs is a little low is if i was to go again i would request down stairs. But still it was fantastic.
A fantastic atmosphere, and with live guitar this particular evening, which was a pleasant surprise. Not too loud however and that atmosphere gave even more of a boost to the incredible meal we shared with good friends. Service was spot on and every dish we tried, was just as tasteful as we remembered and we tried a few news ones as well, all delicious. There's something for everyone on the menu, the wine list is plentiful. Thanks, we will be back, again and again and again.
NIce romantic little place. Service and food excellent. Staff very friendly and on top of things. Even gave us a glass of Spanish wine upon finding out it was our anniversary. Glad we went there.
Small plates and pricey as tapas usually are
We had a wonderful evening. Knowledgeable staff, creative, delicious food. Good value, well curated wine list at reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
A bit disappointing initially, but strong finish.
The menu nicely identifies DF, GF, etc items but unfortunately is not consistent. For example, Serrano Ham is clearly Dairy Free / GF but not indicated as such on the menu. There were other examples. We had to press a bit to get clarity and have some of the items modified (eg Gambas fried in olive oil vs butter). In the end the meal was excellent and good value. More knowledgeable waiters and a warmer initial reception to dairy allergy would have turned this into a 5 star experience.
From the minute we’ve met our host to the very last second of the meal the service was great. We had a very homey feeling throughout the meal.
And of course the food was tasty and mouthwatering. Highly recommended for a romantic place to eat at Canmore.
The restaurant was charming, even though I reserved 2 weeks ago and was seated by the bathroom!
The supper choices were not appealing to the eye or the tastebuds.
The artichoke and cheese was blended so that you could not tell what was in it. It became a DIP.
The crab was obviously frozen and not drained when thawed, as the questionable (?)orange gazpacho (not) was swimming in thawed juice from the crab. Yuck!!
The tostados were average at best!
The waiter was young, inexperienced and non-interested in us. All this for a Thursday evening.
A top rated Canmore restaurant gets a NO vote from my American friend and myself. So disappointing.
Good restaurant but quite expensive. $171 for 2 people (including dessert) but not including tip. Had only 1 glass of wine each (9oz). All but 1 of our items was meatless since I’m a vegetarian (hubby is not).
The patatas bravas was my fave!! So flavorful!! (The tomato and beet dishes were just ok- needed seasoning or fresh herbs or something!) Gnocchi’s were good but not a lot there for $22. Hubby loved his scallop and pork dish for $30.
We left feeling just right, not overly full. But again price was on the high end for sure!
My 4 clients and I went to this restaurant because of the reviews. The food was very good but extremely pricey. 2 jumbo shrimp for $16 is ridiculous but $6 for 4 slices of bread is over the top. I don't mind paying for great food but when a diner can't get a seperate entree while the rest dine....because I quote: "we can't guarantee that meals will come out with the tapas". At an average of $12 for a miniscule plate....you will leave hungry and spend a fortune if you don't want to. leave hungry I want my clients to be able to choose what they want. Sharing is great when I am with family....and frankly I have known these clients for many years...all agree...overpriced for the portion and we dined in many other places in the area that had equally outstanding food at a much more reasonable price. I come from NJ/NY....how much does a loaf of exquisite bread cost? Certainly not $6 for 4 measly slices! We get it free with our meals. Get a grip on your prices or make the portions reflect that. I dare you to come to NJ and I will take you to a Portuguese or Spanish restaurant with garlic shrimp and free bread....that will fill you up....and it is an appetiser...for less than you charge. Disappointing is the best word I can use and pretentious would be the second.
We had an amazing meal trying the chef's experience dishes. Delightful surprises at every dishes
Fantastic food, service and ambiance. We went for our first anniversary and both of us felt it was the perfect choice of restaurant. Intimate, romantic and delicious. We’ll be back next time we visit Canmore.
