TAG / Burger and Bar at Madison Street

I wasn’t expecting more than a good burger but what I got was the worst burger I’ve ever had. Service was slow, burger cold, forgot the cheese. They advertised 1/3 lb burger but it was no more than 1/4 lb if that. I did complain and they did take the price of my burger off the bill.

This is my go-to place for almost any meal. Wonderful burgers, terrific brunch, nice happy hour. The vibe is friendly and relaxed.

I went to Tag Burger Bar yesterday for brunch and it was overwhelming disapppointing. First--they had no coffee. That's right--Sunday Brunch and the waitress said they'd run out of coffee the night before. It was 11:30 in the morning and no one had gone out to buy any??? Where's the manager. Second--I ordered the basic breakfast that comes with bacon. I asked for an alternative to the bacon. They had no meat alternative and so I asked if they could substitute something. The waitress said NO, absolutely not. Third--I asked for my eggs fried hard and even said--I want no leaking yolks. Sure enough, they served me eggs with the yolk of one still runny. Fourth--the breakfast minus bacon came with one piece of toast--I had to ask for a second and the waitress seemed really put out with my request.

Didn’t actually make it had to cancel. I hear great things though.

Great place, always enjoy it, food is very good! It is uncomfortably cold in the winter, but bring a jacket and you’ll be fine!

It must have been a really off-night for the kitchen... when ordering we were asked if we wanted our burgers "pink or not pink", we both said "pink", and then proceeded to get uber-well-done meat. Also ordered the seemingly promising Duck Fat Fries, but was very disappointed in the "spice" on them, which was basically sugar?? Possibly a mis-step in the kitchen as well. Overall, a bummer dinner, although our server was quite friendly.

Burgers served with fries ala carte - really? Service slow and waiters that seemed very newly hired. Great neighborhood spot but owners are flirting with their good thing - hire some help and pick up your service levels.

We had a very nice experience. The food was very well made, and tasted great. I would recommend it as a great place to stop in for a beer and quick bite.

One of the best burgers we’ve had in Denver!! Great atmosphere for a fun date night (little noisier date night) or a get together with friends. And the truffle fries were amazing!!! We can’t wait to go back!

I was looking for a family friendly venue before we headed to Zoo Lights. TAG was great for my family. The fare was unique enough to not be like everyone else, but familiar enough that my children (who can be picky) find something to enjoy.

The burgers were delicious at TAG Burger & Bar. I took my dear friend there for her birthday & we both enjoyed our burgers. Very creative & the flavors worked together. Our waiter was excellent! Wish I could remember his name. He was very helpful in recommending the burgers & so personable. Very reasonably priced. Easy to get to. My friend & I both agreed that we would come back.

This is a great neighborhood bar, but it is no great burger joint. The buns are dry, the meat appear to be pre-cooked.

Their truffle fries are just doused in truffle mayo.

We come here every year at Christmas time before going to the botanic garden to look at the lights, it’s become an awesome tradition!

Service was sssoooo slow. This isn’t my first visit but it was horrible. It looks so long to get waters it was wild. Food was great as usual. But drinks and food took forever to get. And half of our order wasn’t put in.

Service was excellent until we got to dessert and then it seemed the restaurant was too busy for the staff.

We had a reservation at 6:45 one of us was seated when she arrived and mentioned the reservation. Then the rest of us arrived A little later and we were told there was no reservation but we were seated separately. It was nearly 30 minutes when we found the rest of our group. It was a little annoying since we had been in different parts of the restaurant and had been told there was no reservation.
Otherwise everything was as good as It always is and we had a lovely time once the whole group was assembled.

Noise level prevented comfortable conversation. Service was only OK.

We hadn't been to Tag Burger Bar since last year but were really in the mood for the Lady Gaga burger. Unfortunately, that is no longer on the menu and two of us were left hunting for an alternate meal. My Godzilla was lacking in flavor, the kitchen forgot the teriyaki sauce. Our group of four has been going here for years and this was the first time two sides of fries wasn't enough for us - portions are definitely smaller than they were in the past. While the staff was friendly and service was good, we'll stick to Cherry Cricket and Bad Daddy's for the extra choices & better value.

I'd heard a lot about this place and finally decided to give it a go. It was extremely underwhelming. My friend got the Wild West, and it came with no BBQ sauce. I got the Old School and there was very little TAG sauce. Both burgers were dry and the buns were the best part of them.

They were clearly slammed the night we were there - not sure what was happening in the kitchen, but our burgers came out first and our appetizers ~5 minutes after. The food is yummy, but we ended up with everything we ordered all at once rather than having a staggered meal.

Surprising at how many families with small kids are in a setting that's about 35% bar. Especially this night. It had been a while since we came here, having been just before a week-long closure for refurbishing a bit. That night was Ok, not great for the price-point and certainly not up to Troy Guard's other places. With so many restaurants wound, we never made it back until a visit from a relative meant we needed something nearby and casual. Glad we tried it again though the value-for-money isn't quite there. Burgers don't, for example, come with anything. They're already priced where others do but those others would include a side (French fries...). Everything was very tasty, and it's definitely a good neighborhood place though.

Love TAG! Some of the best burgers in Denver! Great place to hang out with friends to have a great burger, fringes and an adult shake to top it off! People are so friendly and always have a smile!

This was a good burger from a good menu, and good beer from a good beer list. Only thing is, it's weird how they do reservations. They offered us a booth or seats along the high-tops, when a good round table for a group our size was unused the whole night. That's not the first time we've been seated in an odd location for our 6-person group.

Happened upon this place and loved it all! Fries are amazing!

Food was awesome, service was wonderful. Love coming here. I will be back soon
