Excellent food, presentation and service. We came early and were seated early.
Super fresh sushi. Awesome service. Great ambiance
The food was excellent, the service was good; we were upset that we had to wait for a long time in spite of the time that we had a confirmed reservation inside
Always a stellar dining experience. This time everything we ordered was mouthwateringly good.
Top-notch on all levels. Fresh, delicious seafood, expertly prepared. Crunch Roll was a standout. Inventive cocktails. Professional service. We dined indoors, but there are extensive outdoor seating areas as well. Expensive and worth every penny.
This is the best sushi place in the Bay Area
I told the host I had reservation, he bought me a two people table. I reserved 4 people. I don't know is is too early in the morning, but my reservation is noon!
Anyway, not a lot of customers in the morning, we often have to ask for refill for water. I was not very impress on a well known sushi restaurant will miss this kind of service. Overall, the food is quit expensive for what it is. I guess I was so looking forward and came with bit disappointment. Food is good, but not worth that much. Anyway, they got my birthday dessert! Thank you!
We had reservations and we're quickly seated upon arrival. However, we had to stare at our glasses of tap water for 20 minutes. Why? Regulars took their usual spots next to us after we had arrived. The restaurant staff provided prompt, attentive service to these repeat customers while we had to wait our turn. Best advice: go with someone who is a regular!
Overall, it was a very nice experience. Thank you so much for your service!!
The miso glazed black cod was out of this world! Fatty tuna was the star amongst the sushi. Overall a great night out.
A gorgeous evening celebrating at this impeccable place. We can’t wait to return soon!
better than expected, and we had high expectations!
Superb meal. Enjoyed the well thought out rolls… flavor explosion of sorts. Nice service, even brought the dog.
Great food & lovely courtyard for outdoor dining. Will definitely be coming back
Celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary here: aside from forgetting to bring our tea, it was perfect. Dishes that can be ordered at many Japanese restaurants such as tempura and chicken kara-age are their deliciously best versions here. I had known the owner years ago; he came over to say hello and gave us each a glass of sake, which was much appreciated. Service was unobtrusive but excellent. We'll be back!
The fish is fresh and service so friendly with humor.
Wonderful drink list of all the Japanese whiskeys.
Love the shrimp dumpling with basil…
I have been to Sushi Ran with my husband for years and never feel disappointed. This is our favorite Japanese restaurant. The food is so delicious. The fish is always fresh. The service is great.
We like to sit at their patio. Love this place. We will keep going back.
Udon noodle soup was incredible!
Excellent. Great food and located in a quaint spot
fantastic as always
We had the spinach salad, miso black cod, chicken karaage, futo maki, and salmon skin roll. Everything was outstanding!
Delicious sushi! Great quality. From out of town will definitely come back again.
It was good. Not the best sushi I’ve had. Very expensive for average sushi. Probably won’t go back.
Hearty miso soup, vegetable tempura, black cod with miso, soft shell crab roll, sashimi and a bottle of Jozen "Aqua" sake made a satisfying soul and body experience.
Eric our server was amazing! What a wonderful experience! Thank you Sushi Ran, and especially thank you to Eric.
The Nigiri was out of this world. Great unique rolls and loved the ambience. Will return when back in Sausalito!
We were seated at a table outside near the street as as people entered. It was a bit noisy but it was I choice to sit here. So no complaints. I'm just explaining my score for noise.
Always a good experience! yum
When making reservation, staff were very accommodating requests we made in person (after booking via OpenTable). Great table location (though not sure there’s a bad one)!
The best examples of the craft that goes into the food are the specialty rolls. Fish was very high quality across the board - the unique vegetables/herbs and curing of the fish create such unique (and delicious) flavor combinations.
The bussing staff were outstanding in keeping our table organized/clean and helping resolve some minor service hiccups we experienced. Would go again in a heartbeat!
Made reservation at 8:15pm. Really great idea as we were able to sit & enjoy our meal. Server was very knowledgable
I didnt care for the sushi. Not just the combinations in the rolls, but the fish itself. It was just kind of bland. I never had that experience of biting into something delicious, and didnt finish anything I ordered. My husband loved the soba noodles though. Nice service and ambiance. Wouldnt go back.
Brent twice now and For a sushi restaurant that gets so much hype I was not so impressed with the sushi quality. Had an amazing bowl of udon noodle soup. Service was excellent. Everyone was so friendly. Sadly don’t think I’ll be coming back.
My friend and I had lunch on a Sunday. We chose to eat outside - more space and very pleasant. Although the daily menu suggested that a party of two stay no longer than 1 and 1/2 hrs., we went a little over with no rushing. Service is friendly and professional, servers provide information and are knowledgeable about the ingredients, and are ready to help with wine or sake suggestions. The food was outstanding. I would advise anyone coming to Sausalito on a Sunday to allow extra time to find parking - it was a challenge, especially since the end block of Caledonia is now closed to traffic.
Wonderful restaurant. Haven’t been on a date with my husband in a while and this place was recommended by a friend. The sushi was outstanding, a little pricier than what we are used to but we don’t mind paying a little more for great quality. Service was excellent too. Will go back again and we highly recommend.
This was the best sushi we have ever had, and we eat a lot of sushi!!!
Yoshi continues to be the quintessential Japanese restauranteur.
Sushi Ran never ceases to please the palate, as well as the spirit of fine dining.
Fantastic food. A little expensive, but worth it.
After 25 years of fabulous meals, Sushi Ran continues to satisfy and amaze. They've got new dishes, including some noodle dishes perfect for outdoor dining in Sausalito. The outdoor set up is very comfortable, good heaters, comfortable furniture -- everything absolutely first class in all ways. Sushi continues to be the best quality with super delicious items you don't get anywhere else (umi masu [ocean trout from Tasmania!], zuke sake [white soy sauce cured fatty salmon from New Zealand]). Enjoy!
