Nigri and sashimi options featured at Sushi Ran include tuna, yellowtail, white fish, beef, mackerel, eel salmon, shellfish, caviar, toro tataki and more.
Sushi Ran rarely disappoints and this time, the food - particularly the sushi - was outstanding. The waitress was pleasant and prompt.
Amazingly creative kobucha soup! Perfect for a cold winter night.
Always good! Favorite sushi restaurant in town! Freshest sushi and staff is always friendly.
Delicious meal, as always. Service was exceptional.
always the highest quality fish; amazing. prices are a bit steep. the new addition (building) does not have a sushi bar where you can see sushi being made -- that is a loss.
The food is good but there are several Japanese restaurants in Marin now at this level that are less expensive.
We had dinner here after getting engaged! Great time!
The best sushi in the Bay!
Best sushi this side of Japan. Go every time I can when I visit San Fran.
Came here to celebrate a special occasion and loved it!
Had a great time on my birthday with fantastic fish from Japan.
We are so grateful to be alive at the same time as this restaurant is in existance. Its our favorite restaurant and has been in our top 5 since we moved here in 1993.
The server was very pleasant but we waited unusual lengths of time for a desert menu, then the check and then to pick up the credit card etc. Bottom line the service was quite slow. Maybe not her fault as she may have been assigned too many tables.
Fresh seafood, authentic and traditional Japanese eatery. Superb!!!!!
Still the best Sushi Restaurant in the Bay Area - casual elegance with fresh, perfect sushi and sake!
Beautiful food. There is a difference between OK sushi and sushi treated and served with care. I have heard about Sushi Ran for a while now and I finally made it over there. I wanted to go back immediately the next day. The only regret I have is not sitting at the sushi counter.
Was a frequent diner here for years, but I moved and hadn't been there for a year. What a disappointment to return. The Trumpet mushrooms were no longer large glazed mushroom, but were small, thin slices with no glaze and something pickled and diced sprinkled on them. The salmon was mushy and flavorless, like farmed salmon that had been refrigerated for a couple days. The waiter responded to my disappointment in the food by saying he had only been there three weeks and this is how the food has been since he started. I will give Sushi Ran one more try, out of respect for years of excellent sushi dinners. If it is better, and I just hit a bad night, I will remove this reciew.
What a lovely restaurant the food was meticulously plated and you can tell the chefs care about the presentation and taste! I can’t wait to come back
The food is very good -- but the portions are very small and the prices are high.
Love this place, try to get there every time I am in the SF area. Best Omakase I have ever had!
I have been to this restaurant several times. This was not the best. It was a cold and very rainy night and I was first seated in the second building outside on the concrete. The outside was covered but it was very cold. I asked to be moved and they were accommodating. The food was good but not great and their prices are very high. I know everyone loves this place and maybe it was an off night but like I said I've been before and it was much better.
Best sushi place.
The food was delicious and the service was great. We had the sashimi platter, and two sushi platters, and for appetizers the shrimp and scallops dumplings and the tiger shrimp tempura. The desserts were great and so was the miso soup and green tea. The food was great! The tab was $160 with no wine.
Amazing first rate in every way!!!!
Best omakase in town!
Have been a long time happy customer of sushi ran. Haven’t been there for a while. Disappointed in menu change. Not as much good choice. If this was my first time there I would not return. I would not rave about this being a must go to restaurant in Northern California as before. So sad
This place has about the best sushi and tempura that we have ever had. The owner also came over to our table and is so gracious. We will come back every time we come to the area. Love, Love, Love it!!!
Love this restaurant. Sad to see the special chocolate dessert no longer on the menu due to chef change.
Very fresh fish, a master of sashimi behind the sushi counter and a very professional and friendly staff. We go as often as possible.
The quality of the food is outstanding. Limited but excellent sushi/maki list, cooked food is exceptional.
decor is a little stale after all these years. could use a refresh. Multiple service people at the sushi bar was confusing - who do we order from? some things from chef, some from server (different servers came by)? confusion resulted in chopsticks being cleared before food service was complete
I used to love Sushi Ran but feel it has gone downhill of late. I went twice last week as I had friends in town and both times I was underwhelmed. My biggest complaint is that there are basically two separate restaurants (spaces.) One feels like it's the real Sushi Ran by the sushi bar and the second feels like the lesser Sushi Ran, however, the prices are the same of course. And my sushi roll was stodgy AND my miso soup was watery and lukewarm. Sad.
Fabulous! Beautiful food! Love this place! Yoshi’s place never disappoints!
Love Sushi Ran. Highly recommend this for all reasons. I suggest a reservation though.
Great sushi, love it
Great food. Great service. Restaurant was too hot. Uncomfortable
We had an amazing dinner at Sushi Ran on Friday night! Hosting out-of-town friends, we made a special request for the front corner table on the sushi bar side - and got it! From beginning to end (3+ hours later), we enjoyed courteous, professional, and thoughtful service and truly incredible sushi. I have been a loyal Sushi Ran customer for 20+ years, and it is so nice to see that the quality of sushi and hospitality is better than ever. Proud to call Sushi Ran our "home"! Thank you, Yoshi!
Amazing experience. Best quality sushi I have experienced.
