My wife and I had business in Longmont, so we decided to stop afterward for dinner at Sugarbeet, one of our favorite restaurants in the Greater Boulder area. A fierce snowstorm was raging outside, but it was warm and welcoming inside. Ari greeted us at the door and spent some time with us later on. Our server was Jennifer who is just delightful; she clearly wants guests to enjoy their meals, which we did. We started with the Beet Fog (wife) and Sizzling Shrimp (one of my favorites). Both were delicious. My wife ordered the Crab Cake Ramen, a new dish for her that she totally enjoyed. I went to my "go-to" meal, an excellent Rack of Lamb. My wife loved her Pear Martinis and I started with a very good Albariño with the shrimp, but switched to a delicious Petite Syrah for the lamb. Sugarbeet is truly a neighborhood gem and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking good food served in a relaxing, friendly manner.
We truly enjoyed our night out. We continue to recommend Sugarbeet to our friends.
Sugarbeet is a fabulous place to enjoy a romantic dinner with great atmosphere, great food, and amazing service.
One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! Couldn’t recommend more.
We have been to sugarbeet many times in the past. And honestly I was reluctant to try again because their menu got quite stale. I have wonderful news to report! They have a brand new menu, and it is wonderful! The offerings are delicious, fresh, and unique! I cannot wait to go back again, and again! I am so glad they revamped their menu. Delicious!!!
This place is awesome! The food is excellent and the ambiance is great! Also do make sure to try their Strawberry Rita! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Sugar Beet was a great experience. Excellent surroundings, great service, friendly staff, and delicious food. What more could we ask for? I highly recommend Sugar Beet as our restaurant of choice.
My wife and I went to Sugar Beach for a casual quiet dinner together the service and food was awesome
Cozy environment with tasty food and delicious cocktails!
My wife and I had a wonderful experience all the way around. From entrance to exit we were thoroughly impressed and plan to return again.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The waitstaff was so attentive - great service . The food was excellent when definitely be back to dine there again.
What a treat to be dining in a restaurant again!
Everything was superb, from the service to the food. We started with the lamb skewers. They were tender and flavorful and the accompanying sauces were outstanding.
For entrees, I had the butternut squash risotto. The rice was light and almost fluffy and the different vegetables mixed in made for a delicious take on a risotto dish. I'll definitely order it again. My friend had the halibut. It was perfectly cooked and the sides were fresh and light. Go and enjoy this restaurant!!!
Excellent food! Great service. Overall a wonderful experience.
I took my mom for her birthday and she did not relaize we had fine dining in Longmont. We had a wonderful evening with some decadent apps , entrees and dessert and wonderful attentive service.
We enjoyed ourselves. The food was fresh and flavorable. Our server was attentive and helpful. The overall experience hit the mark for our celebration dinner.
I and my wife celebrated our anniversary at Sugarbeet. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the wine, the beer and and items on the menu. We were served a small glass of complementary Prosecco for our special occasion. The soup was excellent and the filet was probably the best I have ever been served. The quality of the meat was extraordinary and the meat was prepared to perfection. We were attended to by the staff extremely well. This was my first visit to Sugarbeet but I will travel the 30 miles to visit the gourmet restaurant again.
My husband and I frequently dine at Sugar beet. We love the quiet ambience, the informative staff, and of course, the food. Outstanding
One the best restaurants in Longmont. Selection somewhat limited due to COVID. 3 other tables occupied during our visit. Good service
We go here all the time. It is one of the best restaurants in town. They had this new dish with pappardelle, buffalo mozzarella and shrimp. It was amazing!
After three months of closed restaurants due to Covid-19 restrictions, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The salads were fresh, the halibut cooked to perfection and the chocolate truffle cake was wonderful.
Great atmosphere and service, but the food was lackluster. My wife and I both found our dishes to not have the "wow" factor we were expecting.
Always a dinning delight. Great people. We
I ordered the scallops entree and it was served on a bed of pasta. The scallops were amazing, unfortunately the pasta was tasteless. Ny dinner companion had the rib dinner and it was great.
Em exceeded our expectations! Jessica was a wonderful server. They greeted us with champagne for our anniversary!
Excellent as always. COVID rules in place and carefully adhered to. Always a treat
Great restaurant because it has s reliably consistent good food They could vary their menu more but who’s getting picky. Solid wine list. An owner who is always there and cares
Delicious food, safety protocols in place and a wonderful date night!
This is our absolutely go to restaurant when we want to celebrate a special occasion and even when we are not. It reminds me of being in a European city and frequenting a restaurant twice and every subsequent time you make a reservation you are paired with your favorite server and a world class sommelier. The consistency of quality and service are impressive. Who would have ever thought you could have found a true gem like this in Longmont CO under the Ken Pratt Viaduct. All I can really say is these people make me feel really special and that is so hard to find these days
My guests were very happy and decided to return and I hope to do the same although I live further away.
Staff was very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. They were meeting all social distancing and cleaning standards. I had a lovely meal out on the patio with friends and would go back in a heartbeat.
If your looking for a place that has possibilities of earning a michelin star or two, come eat here. In this strange part of town under the bridge of Longmont is this tucked away restaurant awaiting to be discovered. Step inside and check out the atmosphere!
Great Dinner, Great Staff, Great Wine. Will be going back
Sugarbeet continues to be our favorite restaurant in Boulder County, never more so than during the pandemic. It is the ONLY restaurant in which we feel 100% comfortable and safe dining inside. Our fabulous meal on Friday evening was perfect in every way. What a treat during these trying times!
Super great food. This is a chef-owned and operated local restaurant. They have a smaller many of truly awesome main dishes. My wife and I went for our anniversary recently. The service was excellent, the ambiance was awesome (even during COVID!) and the price was reasonable given the quality. Without drinks, our bill for 2 was around $110.
Best service in Longmont that I have experienced. However some of the food was a bit off. This is a Farm to Table place and though the quality of food was outstanding, some of the flavors just weren't quite right. I was there on a Tuesday and something seemed off in the kitchen (maybe it was the chefs night off) but the front of the house was outstanding.
Felt pretty comfortable eating here, especially when that is not always the case during Covid. Food was great and staff were very friendly!
We have enjoyed Sugar Beet for many years and feel it is the best restaurant in Longmont . Always a fresh, farm to table selection with innovative recipes.
We took a 3 year break from Sugarbeet after internal changes several years ago led to a less-than-average meal. We gave it another shot but left disappointed. I called it average because our server was so good. We were satisfied with the charcuterie plate and my wife liked her drinks. My wife ordered scallops. The noodles were cool and far too al dente (undercooked). I ordered the flatiron steak and frites. The steak had a large section of gristle and otherwise rather chewy. The accompanying chard was too bitter to match the steak, and the frites seemed like average fries with a burger. A $27 steak shouldn’t have gristle.
We were seated in the bar area and the outside weather was cold. The traffic through the door made our seating area cold. We asked if we could be seated in the dining area but apparently we could not due to perhaps other reservation requests despite the room being essentially empty. (There is Covid.) There was a loud couple near us as well who seemed a little over the top and they left because of argument they were having.
In all it was an unsettling and disappointing dining experience. Sorry. We love to support local businesses. We won’t return.
The service is always attentive, caring, and professional. We are so glad they’re open and continue to have superb food and choices. They also will make special drinks even when not on the menu. The Sugar Beet is our favorite restaurant in the area.
My favorite local venue. I’m a regular here, visiting several times per month.
While the menu hasn’t changed much, due to COVID, they do offer some specials each day that are different and yummy. Everything is house made, even (and especially) the desserts. Try the owner’s Baklava. It’s the best I’ve ever had!
