I think it was obvious this was the last weekend they were open. The desserts were mediocre, service was pretty awful (not sure if they were understaffed or not), and the restaurant was super loud and noisy.
Our waiter really engaged with us to make our experience even more fun
the food was fantastic and five people split four fabulous desserts
we loved it!!
Amazing staff combined with an amazing food experience!
Very good food! Not a huge menu but still good options. Very cute place and the staff was incredibly friendly!
Great place to hang out and visit with friends over brunch.
The food was great. However, we went specifically for the desserts since we were celebrating a birthday, but they don't have a dessert menu on Sundays since they don't do dinner service. My husband even sent a note. Would have been nice to be notified that display-case items were the only offerings, not plated desserts.
Amazing food. Must get desert! Tim is a fantastic waiter!!
A semi-frequent Sugar Mill diner- LOVE the restaurant, the staff, the food... Order anything on the menu and you will not be disappointed!
Made a reservation through Open Table for my sister and I. This place is really cute. Its modern, quaint, and the dessert menu is fun and fancy!
My wife and I veey much enjoyed our date night dinner at Sugar Mill. The food was excellent and the service was second to none.
They stop serving dinner at 8 . Didn't have my table ready
Stopped in for dessert and a snack for my husband's birthday. The snack ended up being so delicious we stayed for dinner and dessert. Every things was excellent and the service was great.
We have been using the Dining Out passbook to check out all the fabulous restaurants Denver has to offer. Of the 13 we have visited so far, Sugarmill has been our favorite. We went on Valentine's Day. Everything was amazing! The service, the food, the ambience. We will definitely be back. Thank you!
Had a great Valentine's Day date! I'm a former employee of the TAG Restaurant Group (Guard & Grace, Sugarmill, Los Chingones, and TAG Burger Bar) and I always come for special occasions. Great company to work for and I always get great service. It was awesome to see Troy in the kitchen as well! Thanks as always!
This place is too cute! Awesome service, delicious food, and great cupcakes ! Quiet and quaint for a little Sunday brunch with your loved one!
Great meal on a cold night. Service was just right. We even got to take some baked goods home at end of the night. Highly recommended.
Great service, and food. Highly recommend.
Food was excellent, which drives my rating. We had the pot pie & the meatloaf, both of which were excellent. All the goodness of these comfort food favorites, but each modernized to create a very fresh take with outstanding flavor. The chipotle ketchup was the star of the meatloaf dish.
On the downside, it is nothing fancy, and I got the luck of sitting in a very uncomfortable metal chair. Clearly chosen for look and not the comfort of the guests.
Sugar mill was much smaller than I expected but very cute and comfortable. Attentive service, open kitchen and knowledgeable server. My gin, lemon and lavender drink was phenomenal. I had the pastrami hash which good but the pastrami was dry. Mustard and potatoes in this dish were a tasty pairing. One of the guys in our party had the tenderloin which looked wonderful. I tasted his mashed potatoes which were very flavorful. The other guy had the turkey pot pie which he said was good. Portions are a little small but reasonable priced. I had the espresso creme brûlée which was lovely. Nice crisp top and a large serving. The guys had the whiskey cake with ice cream. Overall a nice evening. We may be back.
Menu is not complicated. Wonderful options. Ordered seasonal pasta and seasonal dessert- yum! Very attentive wait and kitchen staff (sat at Chef's counter)!
We were pleasantly surprised that Sugar Mill isn't all about the dessert. Much care and attention is given to the savory end of the menu, as well. I ordered the fresh pasta special with beef and shrimp. A really interesting surf and turf twist that was delicious. We'll be back.
First visit was fabulous. Wife had the home made pasta, I had the meatloaf. We shared a dessert, and took home a couple delicious coconut macaroons for later. Will be back and are looking forward to trying the sister restaurants. ONLY downside is location. Downtown area is NOT an area we like to visit.
Enjoyed the deserts. Would recommend to a friend looking for variety in sweets.
The staff was warm and welcoming, the chefs in the open kitchen were kind and happy to tell us about the restaurant and the food. It was a great low key atmosphere and the breakfast sandwiches were amazing. Also they have the best crossiants I have eaten since Paris. Definitely want to make this place a regular habit!
The service was great. The espresso creme Brule was delish. But the main courses... the pasta dish could have used a ton more Seasoning and the turkey pot pie was very small for the price.
Our server was incredible. We went on a snowy evening when it wasn't very busy, but he was sure to be attentive without being obnoxious. He anticipated our needs and really made the night great. He even sent us home with a treat! We will definitely be coming back.
We had a great birthday celebration (party of 7) at Sugar Mill a few nights ago. Our waiter was very attentive, food was great, really liked the desserts- especially the pumpkin cheesecake!
Fantastic food and even better deserts. Every time we go we cannot help but to do 3 courses because everything is so good. The staff is always attentive and helpful. This is our favorite restaurant to go to every time we have something to celebrate.
This was the first time my friends and I ever came here! We had a blast being able to get together and try something new! The food was amazing, the desserts phenomenal and the service was CRAZY GOOD! I would recommend this cute place to anyone who wants good vibes, some live music and overall if they want to try something a bit different.
Another Troy Guard that disappoints. The more restaurants he opens the worst they get. I guess I am the fool to keep giving him my money time time again.
If you order a steak rare to medium-rare and it comes out with barely any pink and the chef says its because of the sauce you know you're in the wrong place. Obviously, he doesn't know how to check temperature by the firmness of the steak on the grill and how it continues to cook while resting.
This was a fantastic date night for me and my husband. The food and service were exceptional. The chef checked on us after both our dinner and dessert to make sure everything was perfect and it was! I would highly recommend the donut sundae, amazing.
We had a wonderful time at Sugar Mill! The food was incredible, the service outstanding and the desserts!! O-M-G. Overall had a fantastic time!
My wife and I went there for dessert and coffee. It was our anniversary. I had the Baked Alaska. It was 'out of this world' amazing. A nice touch was seeing Chef Ryan Witche visit tables and talking with diners. He stopped by our table to wish us happy anniversary. We definitely found our new 'go to' dessert place. We're looking forward to trying the savory side of their menu.
As always the food was expertly prepared and the desserts were a highlight. One suggestion - upgrade the silver chairs.
Having been for brunch and lunch many times, decided to try dinner as the menu has changed from in the past. It was amazing. Chicken soup and shrimp/bacon pasta special fabulous. Keep it up!
I loved that the chef came to our table and inquired as to why we chose Sugar Mill, and asked about our experience, we really liked this restaurant - it was our first time but we will be back.
Loved everything about this place. We had the walleye and finished with amazing desserts. I had the cheesecake, and a friend had the whiskey cake. Amazing.
We ate dinner and, of course, dessert here. We started with an heirloom tomato appetizer that was perfection --tomatoes were so bat rurally sweet. I ordered a pasta dinner special with shrimp. It was probably the best pasta dish I have eaten. And, it was not too heavy for a summer dish. We were both raving about it later. I wish it was a regular dish on the menu.
Service was great and it was really neat that the chef came out to check on us (and other patrons) a couple of times. Really nice touch!
My only criticisms would be the seating and temperature. Seats were uncomfortable and cramped. And, on a hot summer evening, there was no air conditioning or ceiling fans.
Overall, a great experience and we will return.
This was my first time trying Sugarmill. The entry has a bakery shop like appearance with several desserts in the showcase. Don't let this fool you, they have both small and large plates and the food is spectacular. I had the pastrami hash and it was amazing. Being known for their desserts I made sure to save room and wasn't disappointed. The whiskey cake is spectacular and overall the meal was fantastic! Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed the main dishes; we had the walleye and the chicken. Both were very tasty!
