Steakhouse at Flying Horse
Nice place, a little pricey for what you get, but the ambiance is great.
Great food and great waitstaff! A little on the high end for prices, but great taste. We would go there again.
Everything was great except for a date to get Inchin from our server was a little too frequent.
Tables are so close together that if we did have someone seated next to us it would have ruined the experience.
Food was excellent!
We spent the evening here for my birthday and our wedding anniversary, no special touches were made even with this noted on our reservation but the empty table next to us had rose petals scattered around the table. The waiter did not ask us what we were celebrating or even mention that he was aware of us celebrating an occasion. Towards the end of the meal when the dessert came out my husband was singing me happy birthday and our waiter walked up to the table to fill our water and said, " oh, I thought it was just your anniversary ". He did take care of our dessert which was very nice but another steakhouse in town would be my choice for a birthday/anniversary dinner because they do a few extra little touches for certain occasions plus this was not an intimate setting at all. This place would be excellent for a regular date night!
Had an excellent late valentines dinner with my fiancé. The food was delicious and the location was perfect for the occasion. Our server was very attentive and the food was cooked perfectly, the in house butcher definitely makes an incredible difference. I would highly recommend the Steakhouse at Flying Horse for any occasion you might have planned.
The service was great, the food was mediocre. Honest truth
Was a good experience. Beautiful views and delicious food! Would recommend it for a special occasion.
When we made our reservation through open table we let them know it was our anniversary with no expectations of them doing anything special. from the moment we arrived the valet was prompt, welcoming and courteous, The Maitre d greeted us warmly and took our coats and seated us at our table that had rose petals on it in celebration of our 30th anniversary. Our server was amazing, ambiance was incredible since it was a Monday night and not very crowded. The drinks were awesome and wine selection by the glass gave of several good options since my wife and I prefer something different. The food was very good and what we would expect for the money. Great job! We will return for sure.
Very romantic and intimate! Great service and food was phenomenal
Brian was our waiter and the entire staff took great care of us and it was a great experience.
A gem in Colorado Springs. Food was innovative and delicious. Our server Lindsay was the best! Atmosphere was intimate and elegant but also a sports bar was nearby to catch the scores but not to close to distract. Views of the sunset we’re priceless. Check in and Staff and Valet are 5 star service. Can’t wait to go back.
I love lamb and I had the best lamb I've ever had at Flying Horse. The service was great and the food was amazing. What's not to love?
Fletcher was great
The food was okay but not for the price. Service was mediocre and it took a very long time to get each course. Disappointing and will be trying out other steakhouses in the area.
What a beautiful setting! Food and service is outstanding. Highly recommend!
The steak was one of the best i’ve had. Flavorful, with a perfect crust on the outside. Juicy and cooked just how i had asked. The sides are big enough for two people to share. Our waiter was fantastic (unfortunately writing this a few days later and can’t remember his name) He was attentive, informative and very friendly. Ambiance was romantic and the booth seats are incredibly comfortable. Like sitting on a big puffy couch. Everything about the restaurant was perfect, and it was all worth the rather hefty check.
ALWAYS GREAT, HAD A WONDERFUL DINNER WITH FRIENDS, ML...
Prime steaks were amazing. Taylor flight with the Creme Brulee was a strong finish
The food was delicious and the view was spectacular! All in all...a great lunch!
Food was delicious! Despite our last minute change of venue they were able to accommodate and provided a more secluded booth for my husbands birthday per our request.
We enjoyed the fire right outside the restaurant upon our departure. It was a nice way to spend the evening.
3rd visit. twice before were dinner and dinners all excellent. This was New Years Day lunch and sub par. Long waits for food and service and not crowded at all. Food expensive for lunch items. Not up to dinner standards. Overall just not impressed.
Wonderful place! Delicious food! Service was a little slow but that’s the norm during the holidays. Will definitely go back
Inattentive server, poor lighting, over cooked steak (twice). Too expensive to give another chance.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this poor review of the Steakhouse at Flying Horse. My wife and I have enjoyed this restaurant for the past few years since it opened to the public; however our last three dinners have been exceedingly disappointing. We are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to dine at many first rate steakhouses around the country as we both work in the beef industry. When this restaurant first opened we rated at the top; however lately the beef is not even edible. Advertised as Prime beef, it does not seem as though it is even low Choice. We even spoke with our waitress before ordering and share our concerns and she assured us the chef would be alerted, but the New York Strip we ordered was tough, tasteless, and cold.
I truly hope the manager of this potentially-outstanding restaurant will understand that they are putting out a far inferior product than what they are advertising and charging for!
What a pleasant surprise for this area! We go to Colorado Springs each Christmas to visit family, and the last 2 years we made reservations to try-out the Steakhouse at Flying Horse, but both years we had to cancel for one reason or another. This year we kept our reservation, and were we glad we did! This restaurant was an amazing find so close to where we stay and on par with many other resort type restaurants (i.e. Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton or Montage) and upscale restaurants in Denver or LA. This restaurant is hands down the best restaurant south of Denver and the Colorado Springs area. The steaks, sides, salads and drinks were all top-notch. Also, the style, decor and ambiance of the Flying Horse Country Club is beautiful. We highly recommend!
We made plans to go to this restaurant for a special occasion. We weren't disappointed by the ambiance, view down the valley and service. However, some of the food was very disappointing. My steak was very thin, tough and overcooked. However, the shrimp cocktail and soup were good and my wife felt the blackened salmon was fair. Perhaps it was just a bad night for the cook, but I don't believe we will risk going on another bad night for him/her.
Troy great service , very enjoyable evening .
Expensive , but new that ahead of time .
Our steaks were grilled to perfection and service was excellent.
The Steakhouse at Flying Horse is at the high end of my dining budget. It certainly met expectations that accompanied the cost which made it an ideal destination for our wedding anniversary. The beet salad and the orchard salad that started the meal were both fresh and very flavorful. The steaks -- bone in ribeye, for me, and prime filet mignon for my wife -- were absolutely fantastic. I had one of the sauces they serve on the side -- but used it sparingly because the ribeye was cooked to perfection. In fact, they were definitely the best steaks we have eaten in the Pikes Peak region -- if not the country. The sides, served family style, were equally delicious. We had the potatoes au gratin and asparagus. To finish off the meal, we shared the creme brûlée. The Steakhouse has definitely moved to the top of the list for special occasion "go-to" destination.
I love the Steakhouse at Flying Horse for dinner, but lunch was very limited. Super nice place to take a client, though, and the service is always excellent.
This was my first time eating at the Steakhouse although the other members of my party had dined there before. It was a lovely experience, delicious food, wonderful view, and great service. I look forward to my entire family dining at the Steakhouse.
Always excellent, every aspect - from service to the attention of detail of the chef
Beautiful venue. Many menu items not available, drinks took extremely long to be made, server forgot to ask how to cook the steak, chicken was dry. The baked mozzarella was delicious. Expectations were not met.
Flying Horse was very nice in terms of ambiance and the food was good, but the wait time was terrible. From the time we received our appetizer, it took almost 2 hours to get our dinner. It is Christmas time and they were having several parties, but that is no excuse. If you are going to overbook, then plan accordingly, do not keep other customers waiting. Our waiter did not come to out table during the wait to update or let us know anything about when we might get our food. Eventually I had to go find him to ask when we would get our food.
Fabulous all around. World class upscale atmosphere and great service.
Grouper dish was outstanding. Staff could not have been better. Wonderful experience.
The experience was great! I would have given this place five starts except when we got home, i noticed that we got charged extra for coffee. The menu indicated it would be included in the $32/plate for brunch. Ordinarily, it would be fine but since the plates were already a decent price the additional $4/coffee was a bit much.
The food was outstanding. Service was very good.
Wonderful dining experience with an equally beautiful view of the mountains...
