Fantastic as usual. My only comment is that servers need to be careful not to gossip about customers on the floor where they can be over heard. Kids are customers too!
Food was delicious. Lots of gluten free options. We started with the deviled eggs which were ok. Entrees we chose were a special pork loin and bison Bolognese and both were fantastic. Service was perfect
Great food, great service. Love checking out the lobby of the old yet beautifully maintained hotel.
Recipes were good but the preparation was iffy. My waffles were raw, my friend’s crab cakes luke warm and the table next to us had similar issues of execution.
All in all was good option of ordering off HH menu & regular. Service was great. Apps good but $10 for calamari on the HH is $2 more than it should be especially when it's good but not great. $29 for halibut - meh, no flavor. $27 tuna was freezer grade, $29ish for lamb which was so gamy you couldn't swallow it...pork shank was $25ish and best meal ... definitely buy far...
Coffee was so-so. In the past, it has been excellent. Waiter was nice but didn't come around very often even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Tables were not checked for amenities (had to get coffee cups and salt from anther table). Expected more from the Boulderado.
The server was amazing. Food was pretty meh. Hostess had a bad attitude.
Great brunch to celebrate with family. Our server Riley was fantastic, she was on top of drinks and checking in with us. The manager stopped by also to make sure all was well. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. Everyone was friendly. It is a great location since it is near the pearl street mall. Definitely will go back - want to try the other food and beverage venues at the Boulderado Hotel next time!
Other reviewers mentioned how great the food was, but I found it to be mediocre. I ordered the rack of lamb which was a huge portion (all of the entrees were very large) but lacked much flavor and was fairly dry. The lamb itself didn't appear to be the highest quality either and the sweet potato salad was only okay at best. On the upside, the service was very good and the hostess was very accommodating when we called to say that we would need our reservation pushed back.
I like this restaurant for a business dinner: quiet, good food, mid-range price. On this time, the halibut was outstanding, the rack of lamb less exciting. Ambiance was consistently excellent, and ordered an interesting bottle of Twomey Sauvignon Blanc.
We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with dinner at the Boulderado, where we held our reception two decades earlier. The staff greeted us with "Happy Anniversary," immediately brought champagne to our table, and even treated us to a delicious piece of chocolate raspberry cake for dessert. We enjoyed our entrees, and the service was top notch. Thanks for making it a memorable celebration!
This is the third time we've taken friends or family to Spruce for brunch in a month. That's how much we like it! My favorite dish so far is the Boulderado Bowl. SO delicious (AND nutritious!) Second favorite is the smoked salmon hash. Yum!
Appreciated our server Mark, who let us stay on the porch for hours in the middle of the afternoon (when it was not busy) so we could visit with friends from out of town. THANK YOU, Mark. We also felt very cared for by Isha, our server during another visit. I like being able to use Open Table to make our reservations, whether well in advance or at the last minute. Spruce host(ess) always makes sure our table is ready and waiting for us! Nice touch.
This was my second visit and the food is delicious and well-prepared. However, the portions are very, very small, so I don’t recommend if you have a larger appetite.
The food was just alright. Nothing outstanding. The server was friendly, but he got too busy and therefore couldn't attend to us appropriately. I would suggest other restaurants in Boulder with higher quality food.
We went here for a date. It was an ok experience. Our server did a great job recommending dishes and seemed to have a good knowledge of the menu. Our food was very generic. The calamari app had sliced almonds in it, which totally didn’t belong. They actually looked like sliced garlic, which would have been much more welcome to the dish, but neither are necessary. The half chicken entree was tasty but not standout. The blackened mahi mahi special was cooked well but hardly blackened.
My date and I both agreed that the decor was very reminiscent of an Applebee’s or standard chain restaurant. Not on my list of recommendations for downtown Boulder.
This is the third time in a month we have enjoyed brunch at Spruce Farm and Fish. My very favorite food (so far) is the Boulderado Bowl with kale, mushrooms, and beets, topped with eggs. I also loved the Smoked Salmon Hash. Yum! Our favorite server (who is really a catering manager) is Isha. The five stars I gave for service belong to her for her warm, caring nature and her upbeat, efficient performance.
The food was delicious but our waitress would disappear for ages after coming by the table.
Lovely brunch with friend with attentive service and delicious food. Very accommodating to our special dietary needs.
The menu sounded great so we decided to give it a try. Everything was great. The dessert was so-so though.
Oysters and trout were fantastic!!!
Thanks for a great evening!
Food, service, and ambiance were all exceptional.
Great variety of good breakfast options, including gluten free. I had the vegetable omelet which came with potatoes and toast and was able to sub fruit for the toast. The waiter was very accommodating.
Started with Martinis that were just Ok. Had the pasta with salmon and my wife had a salad with chicken, both were just ok. Service was good but food wasn’t memorable.
Wonderful food in a great atmosphere.
Chesapeake oysters were excellent and creamy. Waiter was responsive. Basil martinis were delicious. Chicken sandwiches were very good.
We enjoyed a lovely brunch. Food and service were excellent.
Meal was so bad that the manager did not charge us. Food was very overpriced, not cooked as requested and meat was inedible. Only good point was that our server was great.
Very good restaurant with nice ambience. Parking was terrible though typical for Boulder. Could use a valet service.
Very nice setting and great service, but a bit overpriced for breakfast.
The meal was pretty good, the striped bass was delicious, but my wife felt the crab cakes were dry and not prepared in an appetizing manner. Probably will go back, but not on the top of our list for Boulder restaurants.
Food is pedestrian at best. We sent our scallops back.
Replacement burgers were mediocre. Waitress was very good though.
Disappointing breakfast. Especially the bagel with chive cream cheese. The bagel was soft as if it had been microwaved - outside should be crisp. Cream cheese was plain with dried chives sprinkled on top. This is not chive cream cheese. The chives should be fresh or at least mixed into the cream cheese long before serving.
Service was excellent, menu was fun and varied. Wahoo was overdone. Oysters were yummy, but VERY expensive!
Came here with a few friends for dinner. Apparently it is better for brunch, but we didn’t know that going in. The burgers were over cooked (medium rare looked well done) and the scallop dish came out cold with minimal flavor. Definitely overpriced for the quality of food, and the restaurant was FREEZING cold, and the hostess would not reseat us to a warmer section of the restaurant.
We took advantage of the Boulderado's special overnight rate for active service folks and veterans for the 4th of July.
Had the best dinner ever at Spruce Farm and Fish. The salmon and the prime rib were both wonderful. Topped that off with the chocolate cake and we were in heaven.
Wait staff was so courteous.
A most enjoyable evening.
Thank you so much.

Meal was outstanding and ambiance of the Bolderado Hotel is a must.
We had the Rocky Mountain trout with wild rice and grilled asparagus. It was excellent. They also had a very nice list of wines by the glass. The interior of this historic hotel is fantastic. It still has a water fountain receiving water from a glacier Boulder owns up in the mountains.
Good value in a very pleasant atmosphere with attentive service. Being able to converse amongst the four of us in a normal voice is so hard to find these days in a restaurant. Quality burgers.
Good food and service. The Brussel Sprouts and Cauliflower small plate was great!
We went for my birthday. Service was extremely slow, and no one seemed to take. All told, we were there for an hour and 45 mins. My husband had ordered a birthday dessert but we didn't have time to have it, as the service was so slow. Had anyone even stopped by and acknowledged it, we would have been better.
