I have been curious about this place for a while. I am so glad we finally tried it. The food and ambiance we amazing. We will definitely be back!
Server Sam showed up about twenty minutes after we were seated blaming someone else but we had seen him loitering around the bar during our wait.
It also seemed like we were an unreasonable chore: lots of sighs when we were ordering wine and asking a couple of menu questions. Not at all cheery.
Forgot a drink refill request and when he came around fifteen minutes late he got it then and comped it.
Food very good and it came out promptly. Very good Covid spacing and staff mask compliance.
Bill, Thank you for coming in and I am so glad that the food was good. Yet I am so sorry for that experience with 1 of my servers. Please know that it will be addressed because I don't want that to happen again.
Great food and service we had special orders and that was served the way we asked. Excellent as usual.
I don’t usually do reviews..but..this place was fantastic! We Were staying at the hotel Boulderado, and had just come in from a long drive and decided to give this place a shot..meal was amazing...like one of the best we’ve ever had and we eat out a lot. Next day..we decided to give their brunch a try...blown away..dinner night two...where to eat??...let’s see if they can go 3 for 3...bam...another amazing meal...woke up to head out of town needed breakfast..why not see if they can go 4 for 4...and..they did!!! Highly recommend!!! Not many places can be so consistent with tasty meals..props to the chef and staff!
Thank you! We are so proud of our hotel and the restaurants. Thanks for the props and hope to see you soon!
This was convenient because we were staying at the Boulderado, although I don’t know that we’ll be coming back any time soon. Food was decent and the portion sizes were good, albeit a bit expensive.
Wonderful place experience with exceptional food & service!
The place is really decorated very old school classic. The foods was outstanding and our waitress did an outstanding job. I had their signature gin martini and it was delicious. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Nice place and server was great. My husbands chicken was raw but everything else was good
Waiter was very helpful with our gluten free needs
While the food was good. The waiter only came to our table twice once to drop off the drinks, once to ask if we were ready for the check. For the prices you pay, I would have at least expected him or a manager to come by and see how our food tasted. It was hard to track him or anyone else down if you wanted something more to drink. While I would say that, maybe this is normal during COVID I felt this was not the case as their was a table behind my wife and I that appeared to be of “higher affluent status” that got a lot of attention from the wait staff and management.
Although the service here left something to be desired, the food was good.
Food was great! My compliments to the chef. Melanie provided great service! Thank you Melanie. Highly recommend Farm & Fish!
Amazing brunch !
We had amazing food - Salmon & Prime Rib. Service was great.
Thoroughly disappointed. We are frequent patrons, as I love the trout & we love the cocktails, small plates, and usually the service. The waitress started out friendly but quickly began to ignore us (it was 5:15 on Thursday & there was one other diner in the restaurant). She served me the most unappetising blackened asparagus I’ve ever seen, and when I mentioned it to her, brought me a plate of uncooked, unseasoned asparagus that was also inedible. We’d brought a guest, and I didn’t want to make a fuss, but really wish we’d just left. This is NOT the way for businesses to treat loyal patrons who are trying to help them stay in business. I was embarrassed in front of my guest and disgusted by the food & service. What is going on there?
Yummy food—attentive service—great ambiance
This has been a great place to dine in the past. Our entire experience was rather blah. Nothing outstanding. The ranch dip for the calamari was different. If we were going to get a cream based sauce, a tartar sauce would have been great. The Caesar dressing was refreshing, unfortunately the romaine was rather wilted. And then came our entree.... We have had the smoked prime rib here on several occasions and it usually was very satisfying. So picture this, there is a slab of meat dropped onto the mashed potatoes and asparagus. You see some green rods sticking out. No Au jus, and a very strange horseradish sauce. It tasted like the ranch dip with horseradish. Everything was just OK. Half of my asparagus was charred on the tips. Looking at food at another table to see if we were just being picky proved that we weren't. A rack of lamb arrived at the diner's table charred so badly it was flat, bones burned off and totally inedible. Of course it was sent back. I'm sorry to see that they have either forget their artistic plating, genuine and appropriate sauces and just get by. On top of that, our server was nice but kept disappearing. Not what we expected. We may give them another chance and then again?
Great food, excellent service, and wonderful ambience.
While nicely decorated and visually appealing, the chocolate cake was hard, not moist (or even frozen), and tasted like wax.
Amazing, fresh seafood options! We ordered all different kinds (salmon, trout, scallops, mussels) and everything was absolutely delicious!
Great American cuisine with attentive service and a calm atmosphere.
Nice place, happy they are open again!
Would recommend this restaurant!
The price was very good for what we got. High quality, delicious, and lots of choices for my vegetarian daughter and the meateaters alike. The waiter was very attentive. Love the Boulderado.
I was really hoping for a restaurant atmosphere that was a little more romantic and quiet. The food was great and the staff was excellent. The dinners were too expensive for what it was overall. Spruce, in my mind seems more like a cafe than a restaurant. I would give my rating 3.5 stars over just a three.
The food was just okay.
Venue was nice, service was less than average. It was kind of advertised as an upscale Boulder restaurant but the wait staff was more Wendy’s and McDonald’s I don’t think will go back there although the evening was pleasant and the food was acceptable
Food was delicious and we felt safe eating outside given the current situation with coronavirus. Would definitely recommend!
Finally ventured out of our COVID-19 hiding space to try and see what the new normal will be dining out. Spruce Farm & Fish was a great choice for this. They made us feel safe with the procedures and precautions they have put in place. The service was excellent and the food was very good.
The mustard crusted salmon and kale salad is always amazing. The service is perfect. Great place to become a regular at.
Quality food at reasonable prices. The staff is helpful and prompt and the menu is focused and accommodating to most tastes.
It was nice not being crowded around other tables. fish & Chips was good but not the best ever.
We had a beautiful birthday dinner. Food was amazing and staff was very nice.
love this place! the salmon is always very good. we get it everytime.
Fresh & delicious food!
We invited another couple to dinner so that we would be close to walking to our evening music concert. The location of the Boulderado Hotel to the Boulder Theater is so convenient! Our friends had not been to Spruce Farm and Fish before, so it was a nice experience for them. The restaurant is old style and lovely. Our waiter was attentive and the dinner was good.
I've barely eaten here since the Boulderado took over their in-house restaurant Q's from John Platt several years ago. I've had lunch, brunch and bar tapas, but this was my first real dinner. It was surprisingly good, and actually reasonably priced. The cocktails were good, not great, but the wine list is pretty good. Both fish dishes we had were excellent, with especially god accompaniments. Key lime pie for dessert was very good. I look forward to going back because there were a number of delicious-sounding entrees on the menu that I would like to try.
Food was overall good. I like that they take reservations. Waiter was helpful.
The kale salad with the salmon was very good, the oysters are flown in daily- east coast and others, the Brussels sprouts added a lot.
Wonderful place to take a friend for her birthday! There was even live music in the lobby to enjoy after our fabulous appetizer, dinner, & dessert!
