Food was sub-par. Surely there are better places in Omaha. Don’t get the calamari fries - they’re like fish sticks.
First time at Spencer's. The service, staff and overall ambiance were excellent, as was the quality of our meal. The only thing that detracted from the evening was the extremely small table table for two we were seated at. Literally, I typically find larger tables for two at fast food restaurants. The table top was extremely crowded, making it challenging for the staff to serve everything, as well as uncomfortable and somewhat awkward for us to eat at. Given they had a number of larger, open tables available the entire evening, it was at best, unnecessary and disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber. Any recommendations would be subject to the caveat that if out for a dinner for two, verify that you'll be seated at one of the larger tables or booths.
Good service and decent portions at usual prices. Nothing over the top and nothing below par.
Very classy place. They provide a great dining experience. Best steak I’ve ever had. We go here regularly for events like birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
Absolutely wonderful steak! Loaded baked potato Devine! We’ll be back.
We stayed one night in Omaha on our way home and I am so glad we ate here. Everything was perfect. I ordered a filet and my husband ordered the bone-in filet. Each of us felt they made it to the top 5 list of best steaks ever. The wine list was extensive as well. Our waiter, Fis, was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Provided information with reservation that it was our anniversary. We were seated at a very small table where it was difficult to navigate and really impacted ambience. Our server did not ask us if it was a special occasion, so did not make our experience special. Filet was great and tender as well as Mac and cheese. Service was very slow. We were there for 2 1/2 hours. We have been to other fine dining steakhouses in Omaha and would choose them over Spencer’s.
Outstanding as always. This is my favorite go to steakhouse in Omaha. The steaks are always cooked as I like them and the side dishes are exceptional.
I truly appreciate your participation in the Passport program I hope it drives business to your location. I know from previous experience restaurants located in a hotel are normally not utilized by the locals. The Passport program drives the local business to you I realize it costs you money but it may be the most effective way to spend your advertising dollars.
I have never had a better ribeye steak! There are plenty of appetizers and salads to choose from and we tried many. Make sure you order the crab cakes!
Okay I've heard about Omaha Steaks. Tonight we went to check out the rumors. As far as I'm concerned they were 100% accurate this is one of the best steaks I've had in some time
We enjoyed our meal and visitation
Great Service from Jim. Would visit again.
We we greeted by amazing staff who placed us at the table of our choice. Our server was nice and personable. We will definitely dine there again.
Went for a borthday dinner and the evening was great. Service was wonderdul. Our server was well educated on the menu, everything from appetizers up to the wine! Made for a great evening
Food and Service was outstanding as usual! We had a new server this time and he was great!
Great food, great service, pleasantly quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
It was overall a pleasant experience. Our server greeted us rather casually with a “Hey guys” kind of greeting. It was weird. We then ordered and the food and drinks were great but when the food came we had to hunt down a server to get knives to cut our meat and at the end of the meal when I needed a box our server just handed me a couple. Having been there before that seemed odd and Applebeeish.
The service at the bar was unacceptable. The food at dinner was far from worth the price paid.
Server was great. She is retiring in a year, though. My ribeye was great as were the Parm Fries and Mac. My wife's steak was fairly tough for a $40+ steak and her risotto was underwhelming.
Nice dinner atmosphere to spend with work colleagues.
Amazing food and service!
Complementary champagne and cake for my Creighton Graduate!!
We were a late table on a Saturday night and the staff was accommodating and the food was amazing! Hats off to Chef Michael for suggesting an alternative when the items we ordered were no longer available!
Great dinner. Wonderful food, great service and an awesome peach manhattan!
delicious cuisine and nice variety of steak and seafood.
The cuts were top notch. Our son had the Spencer steak and it was marbled and juicy as expected. My Filet was tender and delicious.
We went two nights in a row as we stayed right across the street. The first time we sat at the bar itself and had appetizers and the second night we had a full dinner sitting in the bar area at a table. The food and service were excellent. We shared a ribeye steak which was on par with some of the best steaks I have had. I would return.
Our waiter, Dion, was great. Different dining areas created quiet space to have a nice conversation. Steaks were great — had filet and bone in ribeye both medium well. Bottles of wine were reasonably priced.
Our meal was excellent and the service was outstanding.
Spencer's is a beautiful restaurant with lots of gorgeous wood touches. Our service was nice and fairly prompt. We were in no hurry and you shouldn't be at Spencers. We had calamari fries which were a little chewy but came with two great sauces. We had a filet mignon (my husband loved), I had the short ribs which were delicious and our friend had steak and frites which she loved too. The side of brussel sprouts were good too. The hit of the night were the two desserts.....hot apple pie and a chocolate cake. The apple pie was huge and incredibly delicious. Wine (chardonnay and Pinot noir) was good too. This is an expensive restaurant for special occasions for us but it was very good.
Best steaks in town and always outstanding service.
Food was outstanding. Service was very slow but manager agreed and we were comped according. Will go back.
I would recommend the Steaks for sure and caesar salad. The lobster bisque wasn't so great and everything else was salty
Excellent meal. The server Cat was fantastic.
Still the best New York steak in town. Service is invariably attentive and pleasant. Our "go to " steakhouse and I always recommend it to out of town business guests.
First time there and we weren't disappointed..we were greet as soon as we walked in, very professional. Food was great, had the bone in ribeye, melt in your mouth. We will be back soon
We reserved this dinner as a romantic date night to accompany our weekend marriage retreat. We knew we wanted to splurge a little bit for a really nice meal and a romantic environment. The restaurant was very clean and we were seated right away. Our servers were pleasant and knowledgeable. We ordered specialty cocktails and calamari, which were both very good. For the main course, I chose the Spencer’s namesake ribeye (medium rare) and my wife had the NY strip (medium) We also had risotto and blue spinach for sides. We both were very disappointed with the steaks. They just lacked the flavor and tenderness we expected from a $40+ cut. The high heat searing left more of a charcoal, burnt taste than the good carmelized crust you’d expect from a well cooked steak. We’ve had prime steaks from other date night steakhouses that were much better. All in all, we left disappointed that we had spent $180 on a meal for two that was just okay. There are plenty of other really good steakhouses in Omaha. Sorry Spencer’s, you won’t be on our return list.
We had 6pm dinner reservations and arrived right on time. We were greeted with a smile and seated right away. Our waiter was very friendly and walked us through the menu as this was our first time. The food was pretty good- the salmon was outstanding and the steak was just a as good as anywhere else- not sure it was worth the $50. Our drink and food orders did take quite a bit of time to arrive as well as our bill. Upon asking for our bill, we received it 15 minutes later and our table had been cleared so nothing left to drink while we patiently waited.
