Bad service, I had to ask I severel times for some missing items from the order. Some items were served less than warm (salmon pizza). Wrong description in the menu for items( chocolate soufflé wasn’t chocolate, it had a semi melted chocolate that was very hard to pour on the soufflé) and it didn’t taste good. (By the way the best chocolate soufflé I have had was in Spago, in Indian Wells.)

Beautiful restaurant in Beverly Hills, loved the decor and ambience and the food didn't disappoint. The wine we chose was unavailable but our wait person organised a higher valued substitute for the same price. All in all a beautiful last night in Beverly Hill, LA we will definitely be back.

Tasting menu. Too long between each dish.
The two first dish were good & after it was in the average.

The waiter announced 155$ per menu and we noticed it was 180.

Not a good experience. We won t be back

Food and service are always exceptional at Spago. I have never had a bad experience there. Jidori chucken always a good bet, along with the exceptional pastas. This time we tried the veal - it was amazing. And a meal at Spago is never complete without the schnitte for dessert - if you are full, just ask for a half portion and it will be just right to split.

Honestly, it was an underwhelming experience. I’ve only heard good things about this place so we were super excited. Cousin was in town and it was a friend’s birthday, so we decided to try it out!

First, we had a res at 6pm (30 mins after open) but still got seated 20 mins later to a table without place settings.

Next, when they poured water in our cups, it was more like they were throwing it in there, as if they were trying to jam the water into our cups and made quite a mess :/

The bread came out and it was pretty good. Not sure if it was supposed to be cold, but I thought a place like Spago would have at least warmed up the mini baguettes and ciabatta at least a little bit. But nevertheless, I enjoyed them, along with the seed bread thing and the sauce that came with all this. However, when they were cleaning this up, the servers did not seem to know how to use the little mini blade things well and couldn’t get the crumbs off the table. He ended up bringing a napkin to cover that area of the table -_- Felt kind of weird.

Next up—the appetizers. We shared the diver scallops and hamachi with SB uni. These were pretty delicious. We were happy and hopeful things were turning around.

Then we got our entrees. My girl and I got the veal chop. I thought it was pretty good. But sadly the area around the bone was dark red rare. This is usually my favorite part :(

Cousin got some kind of stuffed truffle pasta. It had a rich sweet filling. This was also pretty bomb-diggity, but it was a little too rich and couldn’t finish a full plate of it. Birthday boy had overcooked pork chop.

Oh and some of the steak knives were dull. When we asked for new knives, they were still not even better than the butter knife. Only mine was sharp so I ended up sharing mine.

For it being Wolfgang Puck’s flagship restaurant with 2 Michelin stars and raving reviews, it fell far below our expectations. We were extremely disappointed with the service and overall experience.

I still miss the old Spago on Sunset. The Spago on Canon is quite different. lt's a more formal, but still the same great ambiance and the food is just as excellent. The one thing that's much better with the Spago on Canon, an 8:00 reservation, means 8:00. The old Spago on Sunset, if you had a reservation, it meant nothing unless you were an "A-lister." It wasn't unusual that an 8:00 reservation got you seated after 11:00, with no apology. Also, in the old Spago there was nowhere to wait for your table and a very tiny bar at the front door. Not the case with the Spago on Canon, there's a decent sized bar and room to wait. Anyway, certainly on the pricey side, but worth it if you can afford it. A great spot for a special evening in L.A.
