Sorrento Ristorante Italiano
This is a fantastic restaurant , maybe the best Italian in Houston. The bread, the salads the diners were incredible. The chocolate truffle cake for desert was also very delicious. I had the duck my wife has the seafood chopino. It’s a wonderful place with excellent service and staff. Even the piano player is awesome. I had the duck breast , my wife had the seafood Chopin, really good dinner
Excellent and consistent quality of food and service from Sergio is top notch. We enjoy coming to Sorrento, one of our top favorite place to dine.
It was my birthday and we had a very nice evening.
The piano was great! and the food was delicious ... I had osobucco... which I was great.
Our waitress was very nice, helpful and efficient.
It was a little bit noisy because there were some families around us and a private party in the near by room.
Nice, fairly quiet restaurant with great food and service. Actually able to have a normal decibel level conversation, which is not easy to find sometimes.
As usual, food was delicious and service was impeccable! Our favorite Italian restaurant. Love the ambiance, the live music and of course the food! Must try the mushroom risotto made in a giant round of cheese, the short ribs, and the lasagna! They also have a great wine list.
One of favorites. It never disappoints.
Ok. Not the best. Frumpy.
Our evening at Sorrento was absolutely fantastic. We were greeted in a friendly manner and seated immediately. Our waiter, Maximo, introduced himself and saw to our needs. He made an outstanding wine recommendation, and knew the menu inside and out. He really helped make the evening what it was. The food was fabulous. In fact, my alfredo sauce was probably the best I ever had. Ambience was amazing, with sophisticated décor and a wonderful piano player. The sound level was great - a rare exception to most restaurants these days. We celebrated our 29th anniversary there, and look forward to eating there again. One of our top picks in Houston.
Excellent as always!
Still the best Italian restaurant in Houston. I am not sure why DeMarco gets the positive press but Sorrento is far superior. Big compliments from a Sicilian family who knows good Italian food.
Went to dinner with another couple and our table was not ready at reservation time. The place was pretty busy and the service was a bit slow because of that. The food was good and the place was nicely decorated. I'd like to go back because I had higher expectations.
We were very impressed with the ambiance. My branzino fish was sublime. It's not a "session" Italian restaurant due to price, but we will definitely go at least once a quarter.
We had a wonderful meal with fantastic service!
Excellent service. Nice ambience, not loud, able to converse without raising voice. Live piano was a nice touch. Food did not disappoint. Perhaps a little pricey, but worth it.
I was pleased with the food, the empty plates lingered a while on the table but otherwise lovely
New Years Eve . Live music , cellist , violinist with usual piano player . Lovely touch . Tables were crowded together otherwise great experience as usual .
A beautiful meal in a divine setting with impeccable service. The pianist is perfection.
We come here because it is wonderful food and service. We are always greeted warmly. The staff is so professional and the food and drink always terrific. Your piano player is hands down the best. He remembers us and always plays my favorite song when we walk in. Thank you Sorrento ‘s. See you in the new year.
My son wanted to celebrate his 17th Birthday here so we had a great evening supported by the staff and chef’s work to make everything perfect for our night. Thank you.
Flys everywhere. Bathroom smelled terrible. Old fashioned was watered down and wine was overpriced and cheap. Bread was cold and stale. Do not eat here. Service team was nice and cordial. However food was not edible. Valet guy was also rude.
My family goes to Sorrento on Christmas Eve. The ambience is lovely and really sets the mood for
Christmas. The wait staff is always so nice and efficient. The food is always good. My only recommendation is that the set menu may not appeal to everyone, and their full menu is much nicer.
We celebrated Christmas Eve with my daughter and her boyfriend - everything exceeded expectations. It was a limited menu due to the holiday but that was not a problem. The waiter was helpful with his recommendations and they were spot on - my husband is gluten free and had the filet mignon - it melted in his mouth. I had pasta with spicy sausage - it was delicious. It was the perfect place to celebrate the holiday. We may make it a tradition.
Our family came for Christmas Eve and were very disappointed. I know that they were busy but we have been here before and it was nice but not tonight. The waiter was not very attentive, very slow. While waiting for our meal we had a worm type insect crawling on the table. Once our food came it was not hot, was room temperature. Should have sent it back but decided we had waited long enough and would just deal with it. We also heard the table next to us complaining their meal was not hot either.
Halfway through eating it another insect fell into my dish. When we told the waiter he acted like it happens sometime, that it probably just feel from the AC vent. Did not seem surprised. He took my plate and did not offer to bring another. I wouldn't have taken it anyway. They did take the dish off our bill. Overall a very disappointing evening. Not what you would expect from a restaurant like this.
Wonderful time at Christmas Eve dinner! Excellent food, service and loved the Christmas songs on the piano!
Great Italian fare and service. From the appetizers to the desserts, all was excellent. Background piano music was at just the right volume. Loved it all!
Sorrento is my go to for a festive environment for any event. Delicious food and excellent wait staff. Very welcoming and inviting.
Incredible and perfect as usual.
For me, it was just ok. And, ok is not a recommendation. My take is: been there, done that!
I felt like we could have been offered more bread, cruets. The meal itself was good but not spectacular. This was my first visit.
Risotto in parmesan wheel was Fabulous!
Food and service was spectacular! One of the most authentic Italian restaurants in the city.
Perfect as always.
First time here. Great experience. Food & service were spot on. Wine was delicious but overall, wine prices are on the high side, but with the very reasonable prices on food, including desserts, it evens out. Will definitely be back!!
Sorrento is one of those restaurants that you realize it's been a while since you've been to, so you decide that now's a good time to visit again. Once there, you realize what a fantastic place it is. The service is some of the best in the city, and the food is always excellent. I'll be back soon.
Always our go to place for special occasions
This is a great restaurant! Having the pianist play all evening, is a delight. The food is absolutely delicious - I had a melt-in-your-mouth sweet Seabass over wilted spinach. And, the bonus is, you can easily talk with people at your table, and hear them respond. We prefer to sit on the enclosed terrace, but anywhere is wonderful!
As always it is a treat to dine at this great intimate restaurant. Never had better service or food any place else
Friendly and classy restaurant with attentive service and well prepared and tasty food. Live piano adds nice ambiance. Staff makes you feel welcome and will add a little something for events being celebrated. I come back for private or business entertainment. A nice locale to add to your list of high end restaurants at a reasonable price. Great value and you don’t have to shout to carry a normal conversation with your guests.
