Sorrento Ristorante Italiano
The food was fantastic. The service was was a little slow. Overall, an excellent dining experience.
It decent overall for food and service but there were multiple flies constantly around our table which completely spoiled our experience. Food isn’t amazing for the price. Service is very good. Enjoyed the bread.
One entree delicious. Pasta dis, pasta undercooked and sauce like a broth with little flavor rather than a delicious sauce coating the exterior of each ravioli.
They did not offer me another entree, nor to remove from bill...I did not ask but shall not return.
Note, the address is not correct on the Open Table listing, we had to call while looking for restaurant.
We love Sorrento for their intimate setting, outstanding waiting service, delicious food and wine selection. Pasta is made fresh daily.
Another great evening at Sorrento. Food and service we exemplary as always! Piano player is awesome! For whatever occasion Sorrento is first rate!
Sergio was the best waiter I've had in almost forever!
Perfect service and food fabulous as always.
Weeknight date with my husband, and everything was delightful. We left satisfied in every way with our experience. Can’t wait to repeat the experience!!!
Veal Osso Bucco was fantastic and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend Sorrento for lunch, or dinner.
Excellent food, service, portions.
Location is great, ambiance is fabulous. Place is elegant and cozy
We love dining at Sorrento. The service is wonderful as is the food. The pianist plays wonderfully; we love the entire experience!
We have been to Sorrento at least half dozen times over the last number of years. Tonight we had a delightful evening - our servers and staff made the evening special.
Had the tasting menu, and my wife a pasta, but they accommodated us so together we could share some of the tasting menu and did a great job with timing my wife's pasta.
All the food was top notch. Wine was excellent. Just overall a lovely evening
NOTHING SPECIAL for $85/person with 1 glass of wine.
Very nice place with live music. Great for special occasions.
Incredible as always. Food was great, waiter was perfect as always.
This has become my go to place the night before the marathon. Great pasta and the foie gras is outstanding.
Family dinner before seeing a show at Hobby Center
As always dinner and service were perfect, cheers!
We had a wonderful time and everything we had was outstanding. From the wine to the dessert. So many things to go back and try.
Just Perfect. We had a leisurely meal before attending the theater.
Just overall amazing experience. The risotto in the cheese wheel was a wonderful surprise. And the freshly baked bread carried through the dining room was so good
We had a great experience! Cozy and comfortable...the service was on point and attentive. We will be back for more!
Great service. The food was excellent. Will definitely come back.
We went for our first wedding anniversary and both the staff and food were amazing. Everyone congratulated us and were so nice.
The depth of flavor in the dishes here is breathtaking. Lots of great food in Houston, but Sorrento’s food is exceptional. We had the chef’s tasting menu for two: WOW. Excellent service (thank you, Sergio!), elegant atmosphere. Lovely for a date; quiet and romantic. I’m still stunned by the wonderful experience we had.
I have loved Sorrento’s for lunch for years! Dining with them for dinner just validates that they are the place to go for dinner also! The food, the service .... excellent!
The lobster bisque was excellent, as were the Sea Scallops, and Creme Brulee. Attentive and friendly waiter and entire staff. Enjoyed the piano player's music, the dim lighting, and overall atmosphere of the restaurant. I'd suggest dressing nicely; not necessarily a tie but dressy business casual definitely.
Sorrento is the perfect place to celebrate! Service is always amazing and the food is so ridiculously good!
We had a wonderful New Years Eve dinner and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.
Food and presentation was excellent . Served with great timing between courses.
Best Italian restaurant in Houston, always delicious
My absolute favorite spot in Houston. Beautiful venue, top notch service and food. The piano music is a lovely bonus too.
My husband and I explored the Museum of Natural Science for seven hours so instead of driving 45 minutes home we decided to stop for dinner someplace in Houston. We found Sorrento on OpenTable and saw that it had 4 1/2 stars so we decided to give it a try. The service was very good. Our waiter was friendly. We both had the arugula and Gorgonzola salad to start. I asked to have the Prosciutto replaced by Gorgonzola cheese. There were two small pieces of Gorgonzola cheese, two small pieces of fig, and two pecan halves in my salad. Although it was tasty, there wasn’t all that much in it. My husband had lasagna and I had sage We selected a Cabernet that was $12 a glass. I guess I’m spoiled because I can find great bottles of wine between 12 and $25 for an entire bottle. I realize there’s a large mark up on alcohol but $25 a glass seems a bit high to me. I’m of Italian descent so I am very picky about Italian food. We felt it was pretty good but not good enough to go back again.
Outstanding experience. Great food + great service. Thanks
Always a great Italian dining spot in the Montrose area. Food here is homemade and always very good. It was obvious our server was very new as he missed some usual "cues" regarding our dinner, but nothing too bad. Overall a very good meal. Always is here.
The service was meticulous and the food was extraordinary and delicious.
We had a small family gathering and were well taken care of.
The wine list was excellent and also the cocktails were refreshing.
There is a pianist who plays soft music in the background.
There is also valet parking.
Sorrento's has some of the best food in this city along with outstanding service
The side room is so dimly lit, you can't even see the food you are eating. You certainly can't read the menu.
Food is great. I enjoy the live piano player.
We had a lovely time. Can't wait to come back and try the full menu.
We usually go to Sorrento on Christmas Eve and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambiance is lovely and puts one in the Christmas spirit.
However, this year, the menu was not up to par with the restaurant offerings. We did not really have a good choice of the foods we love at Sorrento. Last year we were accommodated when we asked for something that was not on the menu-- this year we were told it could not be done. This was unacceptable to us as we go to Sorrento for their varied menu and the option to choose the foods we enjoy. Unfortunately the items they chose to offer on the Christmas menu were not what we would usually order. If this continues next year, we will need a menu before we make a reservation.
