Steaks were subpar, especially for the price point. Stringy to the point of inedible and poor flavor. Coming from Texas, we know what a good steak is, and this fell far short of the mark. Wine list was ok bu far overpriced, even for Maui.

This was our first time to visit Sonz Steakhouse. The service was amazing! Everyone is excited to be back! The food was amazing...Mac/cheese With bacon was really GREAT.
Salad and drinks were also special...
some of the food was TERRIBLE. they served us baked potatoes that looked like they were reheated after being baked on previous days or had sat in a warming drawer.

They were able to accommodate a party of 11 at short notice. We had an amazing meal and were able to enjoy each others company instead of having to break up into multiple tables.

Appetizers were good. Bartender was friendly and good happy hour menu. Ordered 2 filets, both not served on steak plates and no butter on the plate at medium - both came out medium rare. One glass of wine was $21. Steak was average but nothing extraordinary.

One of the greatest fillets I've had. The food was awesome. The wine prices seem to be quite creative though as a normal everyday Napa blend from a "winery" that simply blends wines and sells them had some serious profit margin in it. Certainly no reason not to go back there though. Next time I'm in Maui I would repeat the meal (complete with the wine) again.

We chose Son’z based on reviews and published menu, but we were sorely disappointed. The menu is lackluster and the food very generic. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon Oscar, which was fine, cooked well, but nothing special. I ended up with a couple starters as I couldn’t find anything on the menu that peaked my interest. My beet salad tasted like everything came out of a can and my shrimp cocktail was good, but I could have ordered it anywhere. Even my glass of chardonnay that the waiter recommended was boring. Son’z is in the Swan Court at the Hyatt Regency, and the noise level of the birds coming in for the night at sunset was so loud we could barely hear ourselves speak. All in all, not our best evening.

Waited over 30 minutes to get out cocktail delivered and had to ask two different people to please check on our drinks. Service was terrible. Or dinner was served, we asked for sauce and it was delivered just as we finished our dinner. The whole you're we were eating, the Busboy kept trying to clear our table.
We've eaten here before and had a nice experience, but we won't be going back!

food was excellent, tender and we had the mac and cheese with bacon that was so tasty. then we had a table by the pool or pond so we could watch the ducks and swans. that was so beautiful and there was a waterfall running. it was nice and quiet so we could talk and hear things. the staff was always on top of helping us. great place to eat.
Outstanding in all aspects. Birds quite noisy at sundown, but quieted after that.
A good but not great meal. Drinks were ok although the copper mug that my mule was served in was definitely a bit beat up and just looked over-used. Service was friendly and relatively attentive. Bread basket was kind of underwhelming but not horrible. Salad was again just fine but nothing special. Steak was slightly undercooked (ordered medium but got medium-rare) although the quality of the steak was good. My wife enjoyed her Mahi-mahi. Chocolate lava cake was good for dessert, about what you’d expect.
The over-all vibe I got was one of a once grand and glorious high end fine dinning restaurant now on the downside of life. I have visited this place as “Swan Court” in the 1980s, 1990’s, 2000s, and now as Son’z Steakhouse at Swan Court in 2020. Something now just seemed tired and lonely as there were only a handful of people eating at 7:15pm on a Sunday evening. Most of those parties were done and gone by 7:45pm so only two tables were left in the whole place by 8:30 when we were leaving. I would just suggest the place needs a bit of some kind of life/energy pumped back into it. I am not a restauranteur, so I’m not sure what would help, I just know I felt like this place was slightly run down from what it once was years ago.
Such a special setting, overlooking a lagoon with swans, ducks, birds. Don't worry, they are screened off from diners, but still close by with their lively chatter. Setting was so romantic. Food was good too! I had the lamb; a bit more rare, than I preferred, but very edible. Could have used more of the rosemary infusion. Companions steak was not as good as expected but palatable. Needed salt as did the lamb.
The lava cake with ice cream was delicious and we ate every bit. Great coffee, and service was outstanding. Thanks for the memorable evening!
Very disappointing. Escargot very heavy on salt and cheese, light on garlic. Good chopped salad. Awful lamb chops, extremely bland. Good service. One appetizer, one salad, 4 glasses wine (lamb removed from bill) came to $157 with tax and tip. Poor value, pleasant surroundings and service. Won’t return.

We have been coming to Maui twice a year for the last 15 years. My wife and I both agree this is the best steak on the island by far. Actually better than what we had in California. Service and ambience was also outstanding literally has become our favorite restaurant on the island.
Surprisingly good food for a hotel restaurant, and the setting was perfect. Not cheap, but still a good value.

yes anytime but not on new year eve the problem is new year eve price go up like crazy with a fix menu for sure not worth 135 dollars any other day same item on the menu with appetizer and main course cost you 75 dollars why on new year eve 135 with a dumpling appetizer and a dessert

We have been here a few times and as always the food is exceptional. Some of our favorites are the spaghetti with the filet meatballs, the garlic parmesan mashed potatoes, the Beet and goat cheese salad, the lobster, the short ribs
We ordered escargots, and I’ve NEVER had them prepared with cheese before. My fiancé ordered the shrimp pasta, which he didn’t love. I ordered the spicy lobster, which was a nice lobster tail, but BEHIND dried out. When I pointed this out they brought me another that was MUCH smaller and equally dried out. The manager was very nice and was trying. She bought me a glass of wine, which is why the rating wasn’t lower. Of our four dinners we had in Maui, this was the worst.
This was the worst meal I have had in decades. Went there for our Thanksgiving Dinner as it was the only restaurant with openings in the area during dinner hours. I had a $65 Rib Eye that was over-cooked and tough along with Brussel sprouts that were very salty (and I like salt and other spices). My companions had the Turkey Dinner and it was so salty they could not eat it. I had a taste of the potatoes and stuffing and could not believe it. It would have been comical had the dinner not cost us $240 (including tip and we did not drink any alcohol). We will never be back and expected more from a restaurant on the Hyatt property. The only positive part of the evening was our server. Caslyn was just a joy. Very friendly and professional.
