   We had never been here before. Went for a birthday. A birthday card was on the table upon our arrival. I’ve never had that before. The food was delicious and there were ample menu options. The decor and ambience was very authentic and very CSU, golf, and Ft. Collins-centric. I’d recommend this place for an anniversary, birthday, or special occasion. They also have a more casual bar section. But my review reflects the fine dining room.

   Our waiter, Jonathan, was exceptional. He introduced us to the brand new menu items and made sure we had everything we needed. We got oysters, burrata, and salad, onion soup, two rib eye steaks cooked to perfection. The desserts, the butter cake and the creme brulee were delicious as usual, and since it was my son's 40th birthday, we put candles on the butter cake. Sadly the new menu eliminated our favorite dish, the beef carpaccio! We were SO disappointed, but ordered the Bison tartare instead, for one of our appetizers. Unfortunately, it was FULL of way too much sauce mixed in. Jonathan insisted on taking it back and making us another order, with less sauce. He assured us that with a brand new menu, the chef wanted proper, honest feedback, and made the second order. Still way too much sauce, and Jonathan suggested that next time we come, we can request no sauce at all if that's what we want. The capers and seasonings were very good, so we will do that next time. But otherwise, the entire meal was excellent. A great place for a special occasion or just a quiet but delicious meal out of our own kitchen. Thank you.

   We’ve eaten at Sonny’s and Nicos for over thirty years and, unfortunately, this was our worst experience. First, the Hostess was rude and not welcoming. Second, the Chateaubriand was overcooked but we didn’t know that until the Chef put a second one in the oven and Greg apologized for the delay. Wait staff was fine, Cook staff was incompetent (on this meal), and well over two hours for simple two person meal is inexcusable, especially for two eighty year olds! How could a professional chef overcook a Chateaubriand, even if he’s understaffed or new. They did Comp a large portion of the bill (and I did leave a tip for the wait staff) but a totally Comped bill would have been more appropriate. Regrettable evening-not sure we’ll be back.

    1230pm reservation about 1PM before we were seated. The waitress,food and all was very good .I had steak and egg,the steak was cooked to my liking and had a superb taste. Would go again and recommend it to anyone.

    Food was cold, took an hour to get our entrees, and we were very disappointed. After reviewing multiple restaurant and their menus, we selected this restaurant to celebrate Mother's Day. My mother had never dined there before and we wanted to treat her to a wonderful culinary experience. I have hear others rave about Sonny's and that although it is priced, it is worth the higher end cost. Nope. The manager did come to our table to bring an extra slice of prime rib to my husband, who order a 12oz portion but received, what looked like a 6-8 oz portions. He did apologize. We had to ask for more bread, to tie us over until our food came out, we had to ask for refills on ice tea and coffee. No we are not over reacting, as both my husband and I work with the public and understand customer expectations as well as their unrealistic expectations. I have been a server in the past, therefore I believe in being kind and understanding. We still left a 20% tip but will let others know about our experience. We will not go back.

    Sonny is a great dinner spot with amazing drinks and menu. We went for Mother’s Day brunch and our food took way to long for a brunch and menu prices were pretty expensive for what was delivered.

    We’ve dined there for our wedding anniversary for the past seven years (except for, of course, 2020) and we’ve never been anything but totally satisfied. Our server, Tatiana, was fantastic. I had the pork chop and my wife had the bacon wrapped filet, both cooked perfectly. We topped it off with an espresso and shared a Sonny’s Butter Cake, warm and crunchy with Walrus ice cream on top!     We ordered the Chateaubriand. The filet mignon was terrific. The vegetables served with it were mediocre at best. Mushrooms were rubbery and the greens were lukewarm. The grilled oysters were lukewarm as well and not grilled as I expected. Sonny's has terrific steaks. I should have ordered the filet mignon as I usually do

    Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive, and her assistant was very pleasant and kind. Our fillets were cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. We also enjoyed the Sonny Lubick cake dessert which was brought to our table in honor of my birthday! The evening was a wonderful experience as it always is.

    It was our 56 th wedding anniversary we were tight right up against another table 12 -15?inches away not the best situation. Scallops were under cooked. Very surprised there were no pasta or chicken meals available. My husband does not eat seafood or beef!! Wine was good desert was good bread was good sides with the scallops were marginal. The waitress stood behind me every time she came to the table making me twist my neck to see her. The assistant that brought the food stood right at the side of the table and looked us in the eye. Just a suggestion don’t have your waitresses stand behind their customer and make them turn their head to order very irritating! We love your restaurant but our experience last night was disappointing. I felt the value of the meal was good. Chimney Park experience for my birthday was much better over all, scallops were cooked perfect check out your competitor much better table and over all menu!!

    Overall it was a lovely time. The service was excellent and for the first half of the evening it was quiet and cozy, beautiful ambiance. Almost all of the food was very good, just very expensive… And I don’t think the value reflects it properly, I’ve had equally to better steaks for far less. Their tomato soup was so over peppered I couldn’t even eat half. When something is actually spicy from just pepper alone, you’ve really got to have a lot in there. When it costs what it does, it’s a bit disappointing to not thoroughly enjoy. But I would go back for special occasions and recommend if you’re looking for a true finer dining experience.

    Recently, my husband and I, along with great friends, had a wonderful Happy Hour dinner at Sonny Lubick's. We were seated in the alcove between the bar area and the back dining room. It was a perfect space for the four of us. We ordered the hamburgers from the HH menu. Not only were they deliciously topnotch, the hamburgers were also a good deal (2 for $17). I also recommend the yummy truffle fries. Amazing food, paired with friendly/impeccable service, made for a delightful evening. If stairs are not an issue, I highly recommend this fabulous underground restaurant.

    Easter Brunch was very nice. At first I was a little disappointed that the regular menu wasn’t available but the Brunch menu had plenty of choices. Two in our party opted for breakfast entrees and the other two the burger and prime rib with sides of potatoes and veggies. The appetizers of deviled eggs and ricotta crostini were delicious. The dessert flight was also shared and enjoyed by all. Our server Liz and assistant Alex were attentive without being intrusive. They were friendly and knowledgeable about the food and cocktails. Nice job! I always enjoy my visits to Sonny Lubick’s. I’m sure I’ll return again soon.
