Solano's Bistro is known as "the neighborhood gem of La Quinta". Owner and chef Francisco "Paco" Solano uses fresh ingredients found in the Pacific Northwest and combines them with a unique Baja style flavor to create the unique dishes on the menu. Solano's was terrific. The entrees that my fiancee and I ordered (short ribs and stuffed chicken breast) were very tasty. Prices are very reasonable too. Ambiance was great, with nice artwork. Our hotel was in Palm Springs (about 40 minutes by car each way), but it was well worth the drive to La Quinta. Highly recommend Solano's... and we will definitely dine there again in the future.

We go there often. Saturday night, our level of service was surprisingly poor. It is normally very good.

Overall, it was a very nice evening and we will return. Food was very good - no complaints there. Server was very nice but not very attentive when it came to drinks. One of my pet peeves is for a server not to ask for a second cocktail order or any other drink, for that matter. I guess you are allowed 1 cocktail and if you want more water you have to ask for it (as we did) . I'm usually a 2 or 3 cocktail sorta person. I will never understand why a waiter would not want to increase that bill. It's pretty easy with $9 cocktails.

We went to Solano's for "Restaurant Week" and were very happy with our experience. Both of us had the halibut with mango salsa. One person had the crab cake appetizer and one had the gazpacho soup. We also enjoyed the banana/ice cream dessert. The food was delicious and attractively served. Our server was knowledgable about both the food and the wine list. He gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal but checked on us frequently. We felt the dinner price of $29 per person was very fair and a good value. This was a very pleasant local dining experience and it will keep us coming back to this nice spot.

Our waitress, can't remember her name now. Started off with a bang and then we couldn't find her. She was very pleasant and tried to be well informed. Maybe she was new to the restaurant.

This was our second visit to Solano’s. Both times we were pleased with both the food and the service. Their regular menu pricing is very reasonable.. This visit was to have their restaurant week menu. We both had the tortilla crusted Alaskan Halibut. The menu included three courses for $29. It was well worth it. For lighter eating they have a nice Happy Hour menu and drink specials. My wife had a Watermelon Mojito which she raged about. We’ll go back.
