Tierra del Sol is a restaurant that takes its name from the Mixtec song, a melody that has become an Oaxacan hymn.
Just like that nostalgic song, this place celebrates in its own way the culture of an exceptional people: the Mixtec or ñuu savi; the first does it with her poetry and the second with her food.
Our chef: Olga Cabrera, cook, is the architect of such gastronomic praise, and she achieves it from the knowledge and respect for an ancient cuisine that she inherited from the women of her family and her community, Huajuapan – in the heart of the Mixteca region of Oaxaca -, a knowledge that seasons with his special passion for traditional dishes.

We had such an amazing experience at Tierra del sol! The service was amazing, everyone was super friendly. The views were amazing and the food was great. They even gave me a slice of complimentary cake for my birthday! 10/10

so my criticism may be unjustified. I am a fairly picky eater, but was open to Oaxaca cuisine. What I resent is the fact that this restaurant does not post its menu. It is impossible to find online. There aren’t even any pictures of it. Had I known that there was nothing on this menu that I would like or would eat, I would not have gone. As it was, my companion ate some things, including what I ordered and I got a few good drinks with a wonderful view. Please post the menu online like everybody else.

The food was nothing short of excellent — every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The overall service was prompt and well-organized, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. However, one unfortunate moment stood out: our main server appeared to disregard our table after the initial order was placed, showing noticeably more attention and courtesy to other patrons. Whether intentional or not, it was hard not to feel that we were being overlooked — and sadly, it seemed based more on appearance than anything else. While the rest of the staff more than made up for it, and the server who brought our food even went back to get props to explain everything that went into our meal. we left happy with the meal, however the experience was a reminder of how important it is for hospitality to feel inclusive for all guests.

Entiendo lo que es un restaurante de autor, sin embargo mi hija tiene una condición especial y no quisieron prepararle algo que ella pudiera comer.. lo poco que comimos estaba bueno.. pero terminamos de comer en otro lugar para que mi hija pudiera comer.

I went there for dinner on my last day of my Oaxaca trip. I went there as someone had recommended and OpenTable had high ratings. After a gastronomic couple of days in Oaxaca I had the expectation that this would be the icing on the cake. Firstly I wasn’t very impressed with the ambience looked really cheap in some ways. Secondly the menu which I had a hard time deciphering and no one really cared too much and I ended up ordering wrong things. The service was really substandard period. Lastly the food I was pretty taken aback by the taste. We ordered two appetizers and two mains I didn’t like any. I would not really care too much recommend this place to anyone.
