What Insiders Are Saying
For a perfect date night, go in on some American small plates at Single Shot in Capitol Hill.
Good food. Super busy bar atmosphere but cute. They were able to accommodate a party of 10.
The cauliflower and broccoli crab are a must!!
Fantastic neighborhood spot on the hill!
Great food, intimate with a nice bar and excellent service.
Every single dish was delicious, loved the flavor palette.
Great food and outstanding service. Busy place so get a reservation.
We celebrated my girlfriends birthday at brunch and the entire experience was amazing!! Amazing staff, foot and mimosas. Single Shot is a Seattle gem that we keep coming back to. Highly recommend for all occasions
Amazing food and service. Highly recommend brunch, will come back to check out dinner service.
Menu cocktails were really bad this time, which hasn’t been my experience here in the past, but everything else was great.
Helpful, friendly service who offered good suggestions on wines and food options. A good neighborhood place for a special dinner, or grabbing a seat at the bar.
Based on the reviews it looks like we had I unique experience. We made reservations at 10:45 p.m. through open table and when we showed up it was very clear that the gentleman who greeted us was not thrilled to serve us. At first I thought it was just me, but our whole group was completely turned off by the arrogance shown by the gentleman. So much so, that we simply got up and left after being seated. It was really disappointing given that we took an Uber from downtown specifically to check this place out.
Great place- very friendly people, food was great and there was an impressive wine list.
Loved this restaurant. It was a Monday night, not crowded and so not noisy.
The pork chop was a bit dry and not that flavorful although the cabbage and puréed peas were tasty. My friend had the halibut which was cooked perfectly. My husbands risotto was also perfectly cooked.
Single Shot has become my favorite spot for brunch, dinner, drinks, coffee, anything. It has wonderful vibe and ambience - it feels relaxed but is still chic enough for any festive occasion. I always take my guests from abroad here and they love it every time. Food is impeccable with fresh taste and full of flavor and the staff is absolutely lovely.
This evening I had the pleasure of dining at Single Shot, Seattle, in the care of Kevin at the bar. Karen was working the dining room and owner Rory was also on hand. Executive Chef Brad Kelleher and his team were turning out delicious meals in the kitchen. My starter was Grilled Asparagus with Dungeness Crab and Sauce Béarnaise. Chef Brad's Sauce Béarnaise is like liquid velvet and delicately flavored; your palate won't be overpowered with tarragon. It is wonderful, and overall the dish is very satisfying. Typically I would have moved on to a main course, and there were several that caught my eye, but tonight I wanted a duo of side dishes. I chose Crispy Spätzle With Choucroute Garnie, and Creamed Spinach. Both were delicious and filling. I can't say enough about Chef Brad's Creamed Spinach. It is THE BEST I've eaten, hands down. I could eat it daily. I drank an excellent Gavi that Kevin recommended, and he poured me a bit of Pineau des Charentes to finish my meal. That excited my palate to the point of needing the delicious warm pecan pie with house made bourbon ice cream. Yes, indeed. Dining at Single Shot is always a joy and I am grateful for the experience.
Excellent place for intimate dining. Delicious food, inventive and carefully crafted cocktails, attentive but not intrusive service. Highly recommended
The food here was delicious and the service was wonderful. The ambiance was nice, but not particularly romantic. It is basically an upscale neighborhood trattoria. The portions were small and we felt that the prices were on the high side. We will save this place for entertaining colleagues from out of town.
We really enjoyed brunch at Single Shot. Great food and atmosphere and friendly service.
One of my fav places in Seattle! Love the atmosphere, service and food
Best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. Excellent bread, prosciutto (instead of Canadian bacon), eggs perfectly cooked and yummy Hollandaise. Good Bloody Mary to go with it. Good, friendly service.
The food had incredible flavors and amazing presentations while the service was attentive and knowledgeable! The restaurant was in a quaint location and had the best pork chop I’ve ever tasted. However, the runner-up flavor was the sauce in which my halibut was presented. I found myself wanting to lick the plate clean, but my instincts told me better.
My only wonder was why our reservation only secured a couple of seats at the bar when there were a handful of tables open during our entire meal. Although, I believe we lucked out because our bartender/server was very not only good company, but gracious.
Definitely will return!
Amazing, creative, fresh food. It is crowded and noisy. Only come if you appreciate a true urban dining experience
love single shot, but how about addressing the acoustics? so loud
Such a gem! I could blather on, but the only words necessary are JUST GO.
A fantastic culinary experience!
This is one of our 2 absolute favorite restaurants in Seattle! My husband and I dine here at least once a month. Every single dish is just perfect, all the flavors are new yet impeccable, and the quality price relationship is outstanding! The ambiance can be trendy and/or romantic, according how you feel! I highly recommend Single Shot to pretty much anyone with great taste in food : )
First time dining at Single Shot and we'll be back. We sat at the bar and everything was perfect! Delicious food and and a great ambiance.
We had been here for brunch a few weeks ago and decided it was a place we also wanted to try for dinner. It was a friend's birthday so it was a good opportunity to try it out for dinner. We were not disappointed! Everything was delicious, our birthday guest thought it was one of the best meals he had eaten anywhere. I had the pork chop, and it was the best port chop I have ever eaten! The bean cassoulet was also excellent as were the scallops that our guest ate. We had the flatbread and the cauliflower for appetizer...absolutely delicious, as was the creamed spinach. You could make a meal out of two those dishes easily. This is a restaurant that we will definitely be visiting frequently! (the brunch is also amazing!) The only down side is the lack of any parking - a problem everywhere on Capitol Hill - we solved that by using Uber....
We had a wonderful brunch at Single Shot. The atmosphere was beautiful (lots of natural light, dark woods, and flowers) and the food was excellent- gentle twists on classics and a wonderful selection.
The congee and the mushroom omelette were particularly good.
Wonderful gem. Perfect for any occasion. Great staff.
As usual, Single Shot was great. Rory takes good care of customers.
This was our third dinner at Single Shot. We like the place because it has a neighborhood but slightly hip and a little up-market feel. This time around the service was good and the food was wonderful, as usual. There were three of us and one of us a vegan. The waitress and kitchen were very accommodating and tweaked some of the dishes to make the meal work for him. For dessert we (the two non vegans) decided to order brandy alexanders. They were wonderful. We had a second round. The noise level was low and agreeable the evening we were there. It would be nice (real nice) if the restaurant would put seat cushions on the bench seats along the wall. Single Shot ... Highly Recommended.
Perfect for Sunday brunch at the bar. Will have to come back for dinner some time. Great vibes (and music).
Single Shot is the perfect place to experience a beautiful meal in all of the ways you want it to be beautiful.
Amazing food! The cauliflower and branzino dishes are so full of flavor. Lovely ambiance in a cozy environment.
The bartender was outstanding, always worried about if we liked our drink or food and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.
Chicory salad and cassoulet on a snowy night! Bourbon ice cream affrogado was a perfect dessert.
We came for a girls' birthday lunch and while the food was delicious, the bloody marys divine and the speed of service good, our waiter was very overt about trying to rush us out - I hate that. We had only been there a little over an hour at that point. There was no line of folks waiting, there was the first of several empty tables to come on one side of us (within 15 minutes, half the restaurant had left), so I know it wasn't because they had customers waiting. First, the music volume and tempo went up so we had to raise our voices to chat, but worse - I was still eating my eggs benedict when not only did our waiter put the bill on the table, but he grabbed my little bowl of ketchup (which I was still using for my potatoes) and started to walk off with it. I grabbed it back - "still using that." He hadn't asked if we wanted any coffee or any dessert, and not waiting until all of us were finished and the plates were cleared? As a former waitress from days gone by, that is my number one peeve in poor table service. It was odd, because he'd been mostly pleasant and efficient up until then - but to put the bill down in front of us at that point was super rude. We found out later, they were prepping for their postponed staff holiday party (the owner of the restaurant, whom we met as we were leaving, was lovely), but that's no excuse for our waiter to blatantly rush us out at 1:45. By the way, we settled in and made him take the bill back, ordered some wine, dessert, and my friend opened her birthday gifts. We took our time with no apologies and we weren't even the last to leave. I'd still recommend Single Shot, but just know it's kind of small (which is nice), but you might not get to linger.
Great place; friendly staff; nice ambiance; limited menu.
A great neighborhood spot for a delicious dinner. Great menu, great cocktails, great service!
