To start off they had no bread. A very limited menu. Had reservations but all tables were taken next to heaters.Service was very slow.
Very good. Very cool place great vibe. Had a table of rowdy folks that we're probably over beveraged, but they left shortly after I arrived with my guest.
Very convenient when you're staying at the hotel. The menu is limited, but the food is solid. The service was relaxed but still very professional. I dined there twice: once by myself and once with a guest. James was my server both nights and made my/our experience really pleasant (even when we stayed past closing time - sorry!)
Morning coffee is surprisingly good, too!
We had made reservations for a special birthday brunch and even chose to stay at the hotel. Once we were seated we learned brunch had been canceled. Our whole trip was planned around this and felt this should have been stated more clearly on the website. It really put a damoer on our staycation we had planned.
Their website is not current and they no longer serve bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s. That was only reason for choosing this place. The food was not good my turkey burger was plain and gross. I took one bite and did not eat it. The manager removed from Bill. My friend had a seared ahi salad and it was small ahi portion and the dressing was awful. I had two mimosas but only paid for 1 after manager took 1 off Bill and we were made aware they weren’t bottomless. I ordered a cocktail with sparkling wine and Chanmbord liquor and that was really good. So I hade two mimosas one cocktail and shared side of fries with my friend. The bill was $63 and we left $13 tip. So spent $79 on fries, cocktail and friend had her salad with 3 mimosas. Not happy with the value or overall experience.
Great food with excellent service! Outdoor patio is wonderful!!
Lovely setting. Could not deliver on their reservations or food. 10-15 minutes to get seated. 30 minutes for food to arrive. I had a meeting to attend, so they gave it to me to go. Cappuccino, they ran out of whole milk, so they used a mix of cream, much too heavy for cappucino. How can they run out of whole milk during a holiday weekend? Lovely views and outdoor seating area. So disappointed. Had to eat my food cold, after my meeting. :(
Great value for money! Food came out hot & was very good. Servers were attentive but not intrusive.
Hard pass. Don’t even bother
Fabulous evening. Friends came into town & happened to be staying at the Avenue of the Stars hotel where the restaurant is. We sat on patio. Service, atmosphere & food was spectacular. Cheers
It was quite lovely! Nice view and quiet outside.
Everything was great! Even with the social distancing and patio dining we had a great time.
We had heard good things about this restaurant. However, they were not ready to re-open. They should have waited until they were. Their menu on the website read that they were serving Chilean Sea Bass, Lamb, etc. They had a limited menu that did not include their main dishes. They didn't have a dessert chef either. I will say that their bacon wrapped dates were very yummy and so was the Fig Fashion. I think the experience would have been better had they waited and prepared before re-opening. I'm not sure we'll come back with so many good restaurants out there.
Great except for the Covid restrictions. Oh and the limited menu. Not restaurant’s fault. Still a good experience.
We came here for brunch since it received 4-star + reviews. Disappointed. Food was mediocre at best and service was slow.
Great food. The service was excellent...would definitely go there again! Quite a find near the preforming Arts Center.
Terrible service. When food finally did arrive, it was cold. Since manager did adjust bill for poor service, and food quality, we will visit the restaurant again.
First time visit
It was delightful terrific
Brunch Mimosas were good. I think their brunch menu needs some help but overall what I ordered was good. I did ask them to remove some items and add something else. The place was pretty empty when we showed up so it was quiet during out 2 hours there.
Staff was wonderful and the appetizers were amazing p
The service is always spectacular! The food is delicious!
Fantastic food, good service, pleasant atmosphere
More in line with mediocre diner food than fine dining.
Loved it, food was great and definitely go again
we were upset that you did not tell us it was a Prix Fix menu on Valentine's Day. You did call to confirm but did not mention it.
The Silver Trumpet is lovely and I generally enjoy the food very much. The fixed price dinner though was just okay. Selection left something to be desired and the price was a little much for what we had. Recommendation to self: check menu before hand on holidays if coming in future.
Great lunch menu with nice variety and very reasonable. All of our dishes and appetizers were delicious. Service was great our table with a nice view of patio and lake made for a nice afternoon lunch. The restaurant is very upscale contemporary and very comfortable to be in.
Easy access following concert performances
at the Segerstrom. Promptly seated by friendly staff. Enjoyed the stuffed date appetizer. Both myself and husband had a seafood entre: generous portions. Shared berry crumble dessert which was plenty for sharing. Extensive wine list included bottles from Spain which we enjoy.
Very delicious food, time accordingly with exquisite service!
Very pleasantly surprised! The food and service were wonderful! I ordered the salmon, which I usually hesitate to do at all but the finest restaurants as it is usually overcooked and dry. I ordered it medium rare as I always do and it was absolute perfection! I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again. My only complaint would be that the lighting was a bit bright for dinner.
The food and the service were mediocre. I would not go back, nor would I recommend this restaurant to anyone.
A great place before going to the theater. Prix fixe menu a good deal.
Excellent for pre-theater dinner. Close to Segerstrom, attractive venue. We'd go back.
I have dined at the Silver Trumpet many times prior to seeing a show at Segerstrom Hall. Unfortunately, last night we arrived for our 6:15 p.m. reservation. We were seated immediately. It took a while for us to get our drinks. The unfortunate part is that we never received our meals. By 7:40 pm, we said we had to go as our show started at 8 p.m. My husband stayed behind to pay the bill while my friend and I headed over to the theatre. The restaurant comped our drinks and my husband's salad to try to soften the experience. The people in the table next to us didn't receive their food either. I realize that there are times when a restaurant receives more guests than expected, so I will probably come here the next time we see a show. I will just ask to be served promptly instead of thinking that 1 1/2 hours enough time to be served. Their food is delicious and our waiter was very nice. Just a sad experience.
This restaurant provides free parking if you are having dinner there and then going to the Segerstrom Center. That’s the only reason to go. The service was good and the restaurant looks good but the food was bad . I am not that picky but this was just.... bad. I was actually surprised about this. I would not return even for the free parking.
The restaurant was lovely, and the food was excellent. The pricing is on the high side, but the fixed price 3 course menu was a good value. Atmosphere on Saturday night was quiet, which is what I was looking for, and service was excellent. No problem getting to 8:00PM show at South Coast Rep following a 6:00PM reservation.
The beef short rib is to die for. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is very friendly.
Super cool atmosphere. Great people watching spot. Our server was outstanding. Always there right when we needed her. The two of us shared three appetizers, the ahi poke which was scrumptious and a generous serving. The stuffed mushrooms were hot and flavorful and the charcuterie board had a nice selection of cheeses (it just could have been a little more). Anyway, we enjoyed it and decided to bring our spouses back for a nice dinner. Thank you.
