Hostess was not pleasant
My family selected this for my birthday. It was quiet, food was excellent, sunset beautiful and several others celebrating their birthday as well.
We were seated on time. Server was pleasant and attentive. Appetizer and salad was served quickly. Wait time for main course seemed longer than normal. Not sure why because they didn't seem that busy. Food was hot and tasty though. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were given a complimentary desert and bottle of champagne. Not expected, but nice touch.
Wonderful ambience and delicious food. Staff friendly and accommodating.
Waiter was fantastic
The staff are very friendly but the kitchen is very slow.
Otherwise a great place.
We were celebrating our anniversary and Taylor was exceptional. The food was great. My only complaint is there was a group across from us who were very loud and quite demanding of the waitress, but she handled it all very well.
Our server and staff were excellent. The patio was beautiful for brunch and they have heaters if it gets chilly. The brunch potoes were fantastic.
The last couple of times we have dined at Scott’s on the River for brunch, the server was very poor. We asked for coffee prior to brunch and the brunch entries came, but no coffee until reminded. Then there was a constant asking for a coffee refill. Server disappeared. We asked for English muffins with jam. The English muffin came raw, not toasted so sent back. Asked for jam again upon the second delivery and it never came. Otherwise, the food is very good.
It took awhile to receive our entrees, but otherwise no complaints. The food was amazing!
This splurge date night for us was less than I hoped for. Overall the food was good but there was noooooooo parking due to a wedding (understandable but frustrating) the food took 40 minutes after we ordered our dinner, our waters were never filled, it just didn’t feel like it was quite worth the money. But nothing was “bad”. I’d call it upper average!
The food was amazing along with the drinks and service. It was my dads birthday and he absolutely loved it.
Scott’s Seafood has a high dining feel without the high dining pressure. A relaxed vibe made me feel like I could really enjoy the experience without the pressure of trying to fit into the “ambience”. The food? They could charge twice as much and I would bat an eye. The flavor combinations are phenomenal, and the attention to detail is unparalleled.
The cons? It’s loud. Which isn’t much of a con when you consider the fact that it’s loud cause they’re packed. They’re packed cause they’re popular.
Communication with the menu could be improved. Ordering the barbecue oysters came with a tinge of disappointment as it was not clear that they would be swimming it sauce, in fact, it wasn’t stated that there was sauce at all. However, the flavor was agreeable and the disappointment for me was short living (my fiancé, however, hates barbecue sauce and had to miss out).
The staff is all around kind and hospitable, my first experience was better than my second, but only marginally and could easily be blamed on being close to closing time, which is my own fault for not doing my research and making a late reservation.
All in all, Scott’s is a classic fine dining experience for anyone in Sacramento. The sights are beautiful with the restaurant nestled against the river, with a wonderful view of the twinkling lights on the docks cascading across the calm waters. 10/10, would recommend this fine establishment to any of my friends looking to spend a little extra on some delicious food in a fun and energetic setting.
The experience was awesome as usual. My wife and I invited some guest and it was their first time, and they were very satisfied with the experience. The good, ambiance and overall environment!!
I can stay away from this place. I have never been disappointed. Memorable, and amazingly great!
Over all, very pleasant place for lunch. No view of the river from the patio. Food and service was good.
The service was off this time around.
The server was very nice , knowledgeable and prompt. The food was very good , like it all . View and noise level not so great , but over all a nice experience.
Celebrating a special friends birthday at Scott’s. Our waitress made the evening very special. The menu was fantastic a wide selection to choose from. All our dinner selections were delicious and excellently presented.
Food was great! Server was slow and somewhat unresponsive. We understand the short staffing though. Overall nice spot!
My daughter’s 18th birthday. She attends Sacramento State University and we’re from SF. It was truly a special occasion. We came on a Tuesday evening. Got a nice table. Service a little slow but there was another waitress who made an attempt to assist. She wasn’t sure if our waiter attended to us. Like that. Appetizer- barbecue oysters were small - couldn’t taste the oyster and mostly the sauce. The crab cakes and calamari was delicious. Asked for moe bread that never came. We like our carbs. Main food was good. Filet with lobster, 2 salmons, and pasta. Lobster bisque - a little thick - used it as a sip for the bread (which is why we asked for more bread)! Thank you for water refills - Sac is hot even at 6pm. My dog was also give some ice water. Appreciate the consideration. Alcoholic drinks were okay. Husband likes the IPA varieties. I’d like to go back and try them again.
Always great food, drinks and service at Scott’s!
Wait staff was awesome! Food was good. We will definitely go again.
Very nice, after having been very disappointed several months ago, we attributed it to the covid issues, glad we returned to one of our favorite spots.
Lovely ambiance, delicious food, great view, great service. This is a truly special place to go for a special occasion—or no occasion at all. The rib eye cuts like butter.
Thanks for making my wife’s 34th birthday dinner memorable. The chocolate torte and champagne were a nice touch. Thanks to Miguel our generous, attentive server. Scott’s continues to be our go-to for special occasions.
Beautiful venue, great food what more can you say.
They allowed me to park in valet parking for free since there was no attendant. They quickly seated us and provided water promptly. The waiter was also prompt and attentive and met our every request. The waiter was very courteous and solicitous. We enjoyed the meal and had a leisurely time of visiting without feeling we were imposing on the restaurant. Will definitely return.
Very disappointing. Had reservations, asked to wait for half an hour if we wanted to dine outside. Took us to a table inside up against a wall with no view and next to the door the servers go in and out of (although several other tables were empty). Decided to wait at the bar for an outside table. No big deal but sat at the bar for more than 10 minutes with no acknowledgement by any staff.
Got seated and waited another 15 minutes to be acknowledged by the server. Don’t know her name since she didn’t introduce herself. Ordered a vodka lemonade. Tasteless lemonade $12
Took another half an hour for food to come. Tasteless crab cake and way over cooked, dry poached eggs. Tomato under Benedict was the end with the core still in it $25. It’s not about the money. I’ll spend good money all day long for good food/service.
Would have voiced my disappointment with them as opposed to posting here except nobody bothered checking.
Canceled our Rio City reservations. Should have kept them. Very disappointing for a Scott’s Seafood restaurant. Walnut Creek location much better.
I’m not a fan of complaining online because I think we should give the business the opportunity to make it right but there didn’t seem to be anybody who cared, other than the bussers who were the only employees on point.
It’s our special occasion favorite! Never disappointed with the food or the service.
Four of outside, great ambiance on the river and sunset. One guest, had vegetarian stir fry and commented it was quite good., another the halibut. Excellent and very’ large easy to share. Wife and I had seafood tower good but the top dish had way to much ice and dripped on other two dishes.
We will be back
Delicious! Great service, especially for a Saturday night.
Waited 15 minutes for our reserved outside table - finally opted to just sit inside. Food was amazing & so was our server. On the reservation I had asked for a special dessert for my fiancé birthday, which unfortunately was not communicated to our server(?) And therefore not provided.
Sat down and was not acknowledged for 20 minutes… Manager finally came over and comped our appetizer offering his apologies
The food was amazing! The service could’ve been better. I didn’t feel like the outdoor area could’ve been a little nicer. Overall, it was a good experience.
We came for my birthday and were very well taken care of, from check in with the hostess, getting recommendations from the server and the being over-satisfied with the Seafood Tower. Delicious!
Outdoor seating, great tasting food, great service. A little pricey, but they gave me a free dessert and a free bottle of champagne to take home! Lovely surprise and great birthday experience!
Birthday dinner. Excellent all around. Highly recommended
Friendly staff greeted us. Sat us at the table we wanted. Great service. We will be back again.
I just love it here. Consistency across the board.
