Scott's Seafood on the River
With the gentle Delta breezes playing on a summer evening, there is no better dining al fresco in Sacramento. The food, the service, the ambiance all make for an unforgettable experience.
From small, intimate meetings all the way up to a riverside wedding for 200, Scott's catering professionals will plan the perfect event, whether social or business. We take care of every detail from beginning to end.
Everything was perfect except our pager didn’t go off so we waited quite a while - like 45 minutes . I finally went to the hostess because we could see a lot of empty tables. She apologized profusely and said they have a lot of problems with the pagers not going off. She seated us promptly and everything else was awesome. Might be time to replace the pagers!
I’ve been here before once for my anniversary and loved the food and ambiance. First time here celebrating my birthday. Was very nice of them to give me a free dessert and bottle of sparkling wine to take home. Food was delicious and service was attentive and great.
Everything except the peach cobbler was great!
My first time to this Scott's Seafood. It was a nice place to stop in before heading off to the King's game. Wonderful and fresh seafood. My only complaint would be it could use a little more light inside the restaurant - a tad bit too dark for my liking. Overall, I would really recommend this place and try the Seafood Tower. A little bit of everything!
The food was amazing. The server was wonderful! Waiting for the food seemed to take a long time, but it was worth it.
Arrived @ hotel 🏨 which is adjacent to Scott’s but only choice to dine....enjoyed the experience
Another great meal and service at Scott’s
A very enjoyable birthday dinner. Service here is top notch! Love their sourdough bread that starts the meal off great. They’ve got a new updated cocktail menu that is fun to contemplate. Beautiful riverside venue which afforded us a stunning postcard sunset the night we were there.
Excellent seafood however I was appalled that my $24 appetizer consisted of two scallops. This is a restaurant where the prices vary from excellent value to audacious rip off. I’m not used to looking at prices normally but I suggest you do.
Edit: Just got back from Safeway and was surprised how expensive Scallops were, so I was wrong on the expensive prices.
Always a great place to enjoy a great seafood meal. Crowd is always lively, but after the night goes on, the noise thins out.
Great place to celebrate your birthday, very friendly and attentive. Wonderful food too!
I had a great time, the drinks were good, service was great and the food was even better!
We went for our anniversary because we live the oysters on the half shell. The food was delicious. But we were sat near a large group that included several children so the ambience was not very romantic.
Excellent brunch. Server & chef assured me of which entrees were free of my Canola oil allergy.
We are planning to return for dinner.
Had a wonderful NYE dinner with my spouse and it was exceptional. We went in prior to our reservation time and were able to find a table in the lounge area for a couple drinks. Our table was ready on time and the server was very sweet. Our meal was lovely and the ambiance made the evening very special. We will definitely be back for more special occasions.
As usual the food was delicious. I must be careful to ask for freshly brewed coffee. Best of all, the prices are affordable. The service was good, but differs, depending on which person is your server.
We go to Scott's for special occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, and New Year's Eve. We love the food, service and ambiance. We're never disappointed in these areas. The only minus this time around was they didn't honor the senior discount and there was no way of knowing this ahead of time. We were just caught off guard. We still enjoyed our evening.
Been coming here since it opened. Food has always been great, service has always been top notch. This last time just was not great. Looking forward to the calamari appetizer , one of my favorites. Waiter forgot, he did ask if we still wanted them. Just didn't want to wait. Also got my beer order wrong. I'll still come back
We were there for New Year's Eve and had a wonderful experience.
Starting with the hostess, server and her helper, it was a great. Looking forward to dining there again.
Great service from Melissa; personable, professional, patient, prompt. The steaks were good but bit more gristle than expected. The one mushroom was filleted although it had a nice crunchy taste. The brocolli was overheated and brittle.
Scott's Seafood on the River is a nice venue to have a great meal. The menu is diverse and the quality is great. Service was prompt and attentive. The view is nice and if the weather permits you can enjoy your meal on the patio.
Service was excellent and the food was very good. We like to come here for a nice, consistently good dining experience.
This was an anniversary dinner for family. The service was efficient and professional. The food was excellent. Seated next to the bar was a bit noisy but overall we had a great time.
The food was fabulous as always, but when I tried to add points to my account the code and the amount didn’t match up. Maybe because my senior account for a percentage off the total price?
I’ve had better experiences. A little disappointed this time. The dish I usually have changed. The meat was fatter and the sauce on the meat was way to sweet.
Had a meal at Scott’s one evening with my mom, who’s 88 years young. We ordered from the Celiac menu, so appreciated! The meal was fabulous, one of the very best mom and I have ever experienced. The view of the river is beautiful, the service excellent. Highly recommended!
Great experience. Nice after Holiday lunch with family. the food was great! And the service exceptional.
Loved the clam chowder!
Restaurant and staff were terrific and provided a great experience for our Christmas dinner out
Fabulous Christmas dinner. Service was wonderful, food was delicious First time visit and we will return.
The food was outstanding the servers were very polite the location was beautiful and we would definitely eat there again.
Exceptional food quality and value with World-Class service. Dinning at Scott's for Thanksgiving and Christmas has been a tradition for many years and many more to come!
Christmas Day with family!!
First time at Scott's on the River and because it was Christmas we were prepared for the usual holiday madness. Good news, the madness wasn't part of the program. Our reservation was honored on time and with warm, holiday greetings. Our servers were well informed, attentive and timely in all aspects.
All in all a delightful way to enjoy time with our Sacramento family in a lovely setting,
My daughter and I dined there on Christmas. The service was excellent the food was fabulous.
Everything was lovely and delicious. It was Christmas Eve and the restaurant was short staffed. Rather short sided on the part of management. Our waiter was good; but had too many tables to service. Food was good, not as good as usual. I realize that a full night is not the best to evaluate; so I will go back many times to Scott’s on the River, as we love it!
Poor service, cold food, server never picked up old plates, never asked if we needed refills on cocktails or drinks, on and on.....
I ordered my favorite dish and the kitchen was awesome because everything was great.
We were looking for a local spot for a Christmas eve dinner - after an article in the local paper highlighted all the restaurants open on Christmas Day - none of which had space. Scotts's - which is a 10-minute drive could feed us a late lunch at 2:45 so we jumped on it. Staff - from the valet to our server were attentive and friendly and when we decided to share a starter salad - the server asked if she should split it in back - very nice. My wife had the skirt steak - and aside from slightly woody asparagus - it was perfect. My cioppino was tasty and provided plenty of leftovers for day-after-Christmas lunch. The peach cobbler was freshly cooked but the bread pudding was just so-so - the only fail.
This review is not in regards to our waiter who was AMAZING and very attentive. This review is centered on the rude hostess who decided to ruin our holiday lunch. She informed us that the restaurant only took reservations for the day, even though the restaurant was half empty. I asked why and she sneered that's how it goes. Truly didn't need the hostility as I was only asking a question. She then said we could go sit in the bar, which was fine, but the more service friendly approach would be to say, its Christmas Eve, why don't you book a reservation online and wait in the bar until the table is ready.
She did not offer that, so instead I did it myself. And I found a reservation for 10 MINUTES AFTER WE CAME IN. When I came back to the hostess stand, she smiled patronizingly and said the table wouldn't be ready for another 20 minutes.
It's the holidays, why not try HELPING your guests instead of enforcing a rule that can honestly be worked around within a matter of seconds
