Scott's Seafood on the River
With the gentle Delta breezes playing on a summer evening, there is no better dining al fresco in Sacramento. The food, the service, the ambiance all make for an unforgettable experience.
From small, intimate meetings all the way up to a riverside wedding for 200, Scott's catering professionals will plan the perfect event, whether social or business. We take care of every detail from beginning to end.
My mom and I came for our birthdays. Great service! Love the clam chowder as always
I understand that it is busy on Valentine’s Day. I was okay with waiting for a table. However I did not like the fact that the food took awhile to get out and that it was not hot. The scallops were great but a little cold. I also don’t understand how a restaurant runs out of lobster on Valentine’s Day. I also don’t understand why the price changed on the steak and lobster plate. A normal day it is 46 for a 6oz steak and lobster tail. That night was an additional 14 to include the 6oz steak. The seating was kind of bad also. Nothing more romantic than having a small table in a corner with your shoulder touching the wall to your left. I will probably not go on another special occasion day.
We had a 7:45 appointment did not get seated till 8:15 which was ok because i understand they busy that day but to wait till 9:20 for the food we order was way too long and we have to continue asking when will the food be ready.
The Lobster and Steak dinners were fantastic. My Valentine and I were very pleased with our whole dining experience.
Food was great, and our server was wonderful. The only problem was the time it took to get our food after ordering (about 45 minutes). But we don’t blame anyone specifically for that, it was very busy when we were there
Delicious! Oysters, wine, filet, dessert ...all top notch!
The food, service and ambiance are excellent. What more could you have ask for?
Beer battered shrimp was soggy and undercooked, took over 10 mins to get a glass of wine after ordering it. Once food was delivered, waitress did not come back to check on us until we were almost done eating.
I didn't have a good experience this time. Didn't get the seating I requested, other people that got seated after us got served 1st? our food too way too long to come out. The saving grace for this place is location. Right on the river.
Sea Bass special was outstanding as was the ribeye. We will definitely be back. Beautiful bar area on the river in Sacramento.
Scott’s is always great... the food was great, but the service wasn’t quite as good as usual and it was very noisy.
Great food as always
GREAT place to dine. Excellent place to unwind or relax after work. The view is amazingly peaceful
Sunday, after church lunch. Even though it was Super Bowl Sunday it was still pretty quiet. I marked down service one star only because it took a while for our waiter to get to us. I assume he was on break when we sat (we were early after all). Once in the game he was attentive and very professional.
Won’t be back to that particular Scott’s location because I don’t eat with animals. The couple sitting at the table next to us had a small dog underneath the table in the restaurant. I asked the waitress to move us and they did. However I don’t have animals at home and I won’t be paying to dine with any . No sure if dogs in the restaurant with food being served and consumed is a health code violation or not!
We had a wonderful time and meal as we celebrated our 46th Wedding Anniversary.
Everything was perfect, except they don’t know how to make a Moscow Mule, LOL
Food and drinks were excellent. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. It did get a bit noisy but it was just a busy place.
I’ve been coming here the last three wedding anniversaries. This last visit was not as enjoyable as the last two. The menu is limited and the quality of the food was not as good as the last times. Hopefully next time is better
We were celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. One of our favorites.
Great date night restaurant. Food was amazing! Loved the energy and vibe. Definietly would recommend.
The Scott's Burger was nothing special, the french fries were not crispy but had the texture of a baked potato. The crab cakes were good but seemed to be a bit smaller than last time i was there. The risotto was just ok, had plenty of seafood, but was not special. the peach cobbler and the cheesecake were really disappointing. the service was slow. seemed the servers had time to stand and chat with each other and in the meantime, forgot about our wine we had ordered. Overall, it was a bit disappointing. we could have gotten the same quality of food and service at several other places in town and for a lot less expense. probably won't be back.
the crab cakes are pricey but worth it, the sword fish was the best cooked seafood I have had in a long long time!!
The consistency of Scott's has slowly fallen off some in recent years. The dishes remain the same, with little variation or innovation. Their execution is good, but not memorable, and because of that, a bit overpriced. The ambience in the restaurant itself is still very nice, but the surroundings, via Westin, are on their way to bad - sparse, worn, dirty. $10 is too steep for valet parking, but with the (from day one) terrible self parking, almost worth it. We had a 20 minute wait even with a reservation, although there were many empty tables. We have seen this a lot lately, and not just here, which we have heard is due to understaffing, either by design or more likely lack of interest from job seekers.
Still "good" but lucky to be in a fine dining desert.
The service and food were amazing. No complaints and will definitely eat there again
This was my first time eating at Scott's. It didn't leave the "WOW factor" impression with me. The server was mediocre. My wife and I both ordered the Filet, I had the scallops with mine and she had the shrimp. I ordered my steak medium rare, it came out a little over cooked and i was rather shocked of the very petite size of the scallops. One side of each of the scallops were seared and the other was barely cooked. My wife ordered a medium temp steak and it came out well done. After we received our food, our server didn't come back to check on us once, so my wife didn't have the opportunity to let him know that her steak was overcooked so that it could be corrected. We ended up just settling for what we received.
For the price of the food I expected a little more. The mash potatoes were o.k. I think that there were way to much potatoes, green beans were alright, they were cooked properly. I'm definitely not in a hurry too rush back.
Excellent fish well prepared
Seated by the window per request
Great food, great service and quiet. Can't ask for much more.
Went on a Saturday night and it was packed. Waiter was not as attentive but he made up for it after most table guests have left.
Flavor was spot on. I ordered the tricolor quinoa with grilled shrimp and was squashed out. This dish had a half baked acorn squash and cubed butternut squash so it could be better if a different veggie was used instead of butternut squash. My friends enjoyed their dishes.
Overall it was a great experience for us.
Food and service was great!
Kousonh was one of the best restaurant waiters I have seen in some 50 years. I am 73 years old, and have been dining out for more than 50 years. He was courteous, attentive, timely, and remembered our substitutions right to the detail. You are lucky to have him. Menu is very diverse, and thechefs really know how to cook a seafood.
When I dine at Scott's on River, I always have delicious food and great service. Love the ambiance and view.
Food was just OK. Service was just OK. I’ve noticed a gradual decline in the quality of food.
Everything was perfect except our pager didn’t go off so we waited quite a while - like 45 minutes . I finally went to the hostess because we could see a lot of empty tables. She apologized profusely and said they have a lot of problems with the pagers not going off. She seated us promptly and everything else was awesome. Might be time to replace the pagers!
I’ve been here before once for my anniversary and loved the food and ambiance. First time here celebrating my birthday. Was very nice of them to give me a free dessert and bottle of sparkling wine to take home. Food was delicious and service was attentive and great.
We went for my 40th Birthday and we had a reservation and had to wait. We then had other issues with food like the lobster being dry etc. But I was there to enjoy my night so I wasn’t going to let it get me down. Our other food was great. Drinks were amazing. There was an issue with there pay system at the end of the night so they gave me a free bottle of champagne. I’ve been there 2 other times and my experience was amazing the other 2 times so I’m not going to let 1 fluke change my mind .
The customer service is great. My problem is with the safety, ambiance, the cleanliness, and how things are displayed.
Arrival: Parking lot was full and poorly lit. The parking spaces were small, nearly compact. I was scared for my safety and I was afraid my car would get dinged.
Entrance: I was confused where the entrance was at. It looks like I entered in the back way, which was the most convenient. The back patio was unkempt, unwelcoming, and again very dark. I was very confused and lost, and I tried to open 3 different doors before I found one that was open. It didn't say the name anywhere.
Reception: I made a reservation, and the person that received me was very nice. The rest of my party was running late, so I waited at the bar.
The bar: Customer service was great, I was received right away by the bartender. He was friendly. What he was carrying was dirty glasses while talking with me, and he was putting them in the dishwasher. You can see everything behind the counter, and the magic is immediately lost. You can see the dirty appliances, the plastic garbage can that has grime along the side, and everything looks just ugly and in your face. I might as well eat in the kitchen. The noise wasn't loud, but it was noticeably interrupting the very quiet and weird-range of music they play (which is anything from pop to country and 90's music). It just looked bad. The rye manhattan is yummy.
The table: I was embarrassed that I directed my coworkers to eat here. Holes in some of the booths, dust, and cobwebs above us on the wall. They clean the windows, but they don't dust or wipedown the fixtures. It's kinda gross when you're trying to enjoy your food but you're worried about dust or cobwebs falling into your food. It's not a little bit, the lights they put on the table really illuminate the cobwebs on the walls.
Food was delicious, the staff were great, but the lack of safety, unwelcome entrance, in-full-view appliances, and uncleanliness ruined the magic.
Everything except the peach cobbler was great!
My first time to this Scott's Seafood. It was a nice place to stop in before heading off to the King's game. Wonderful and fresh seafood. My only complaint would be it could use a little more light inside the restaurant - a tad bit too dark for my liking. Overall, I would really recommend this place and try the Seafood Tower. A little bit of everything!
