Sarento's on the Beach
Happy Hour: 3–5:30 pm
Dinner nightly: 5–9:30 pm
Such an excellent meal! I can't believe this restaurant wasn't in our rotation when on Maui. Service was wonderful, food was awesome and view was the best! We'll definitely be back.
Reservation for 7:45 but wasn’t seated until 8:40. A bit of an annoyance to us since we had 2 kids and couldn’t just sit in the bar and wait. We were told to hang out on the beach patio and were eaten alive by mosquitoes (had to pull out the bug spray). No seats out on the beach patio either. Finally got seated and we were not given menus until another 20 minutes and had to ask for them. Had to ask for bread as well! Kids menu is extremely limited. Choice is fresh catch, meatball and pasta. Ended up getting a 45.00 filet mignon for my 13 year old and did score French fries for him. I had crab gazpacho and it was excellent. Another person in my party had the tomato salad and it was delicious and fresh. Seared Ahi dinner and Lobster and couscous dinners were equally delicious. Dessert was excellent; creme brûlée with hint of espresso. To apologize for our long wait 21.00 taken off of a 240.00 tab. Not sure if we’d go again. The long wait (despite having a reservation) was a real drag. Food was excellent. Discount appreciated.
Food was very good, but took too long between courses. Waiter seemed lost.
Really enjoyed it! The food was extraordinary love you right on the beach and the ocean can’t be beat. Oh waiter was particularly engaging and informative and helpful. Highly recommend anybody wanting a romantic or otherwise wonderful evening
Great restaurant on the beach friendly staff a must visit every time you visit Maui
Our experience was phenomenal! We were celebrating a birthday and they made the whole night wonderful!!!
The staff is very attentive and the location stellar. Go at least once every time we are in Kehei
Service was lacking. Had to ask our server to repeat himself when talking of the menu. Other servers we overheard went into detail on the menu, drinks, specials, etc., ours did not. We were not checked on until dessert options. Manager went over dessert and we ordered with him. Excellent sunset views! Mixed grill was delicious and the creme brulee was on point!
So nice sitting close to the beach. Food and service was great.
over priced-food below average -- I was disapointed the last 2 times there had to send my meal back. They forgot my replacement meal until it was cold. friends wanted to try it so we went. Won't be going back
Fish was the best I had on my trip to Maui. Service was impeccable. Ocean view was awesome.
Food was very disappointing-fish didn’t taste fresh
We had the Beef Carpaccio, Grilled Octopus (which my husband will always happily order!), Gazpacho (outstanding with crab) and Ono Catch of the Day. All prepared wonderfully. Had a table beachside and it was all lovely. Parking lot is almost non existent but they provide free valet parking, or you can park just next door in the beach park parking lot. Service was excellent. Attentive service.
Have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The service is excellent. The food and atmosphere are great. We will be back the next time we are on Maui!
Incomparable. We have been here many times over the years and it NEVER misses delivering an unforgettable experience. Two people or twenty, they have handled it perfectly. Food is outstanding and the wine list is broad. A must evening on Maui.
We had a perfect evening at Sarento’s! The staff was so attentive from the moment we checked in with the hostess. Everyone was so friendly. We were placed at a table right on the water, front row for an amazing and romantic sunset. The house photographer took multiple photos for us, and we just felt so welcomed throughout the entire dinner. The food was great, and our waiter was very knowledgeable about he wine selection. We were really happy with our evening overall and would definitely recommend to anyone in the area looking for either a romantic night out or any other occasion.
The best part about this restaurant is the view. We had a 6:15 pm dinner reservation and got to watch the beautiful sunset over the beach during dinner.
The food was average. My husband and I both had pasta (they supposedly make the pasta fresh daily) and it was good, but nothing to write home about (certainly not worth the $30 or more per plate- we were paying for the view). There was only one vegetarian/vegan option on the Entrees list, but if you don’t mind combining a salad and starter instead of having a meal there were a few more options for vegetarians only (one appetizer and some salads).
The service was very good. However, there was a woman coming around taking pictures. They charge you $20 for the photo. The photo that was taken of my husband and I was horrible, but we felt like we couldn’t say no to taking the photo home because the photographer gives you this giant photo in a keepsake envelope and then hovers and asks if she can “put it on our bill”. That was the worst part of the experience. I suppose if the photo was good it could be a nice momento, but we paid $20 for a photo we hate and will never display or show to anyone.
Outside patio seating was not great. Literally backs up to hotel rooms. Hotel guests above us were smoking and playing music. Sort of ruined an otherwise great evening. Food and service were both great. Just don't seat people on the patio when those rooms adjacent and above it are occupied.
Best dinner I had on Maui. Setting was beautiful with a great sunset thrown in! The ono was “ono🤗”
Everytime we dine at Sarento’s we chastise ourselves for not coming more often. The view is amazing, the atmosphere relaxed yet elegant. The food is always perfectly portioned and prepared. The staff is attentive yet unobtrusive. In other words, Sarento’s is a wonderful restaurant.
Beautiful location with superior service. Food was unique and excellent quality. Excellent detail on every dish we experienced. WoUld recommend this for any occasion but especially a romantic evening.
Fresh, excellent seafood and Italian in a beautiful location.
Waiter was not friendly or accommodating. Rarely checked on us or to see if we liked the food
Perhaps the best seabass I've ever eaten. Fresh off the boat and the sauce was fabulous. Place has been around for many years. Solid reputation.
The food and the sunset was amazing. The service was excellent we couldn’t have asked for anything more highly recommended say hi to Randy for us, he was awesome
My wife’s birthday. The food was excellent and the server was well versed on the menu -his recommendations were spot on. They sent a birthday dessert and treated us well. The patio is right on the beach, the location is unbelievable. Our experience was outstanding.
Sarento’s has changed its chefs and menu in the last six months and it really shows. The menu has changed significantly for the better and the food is now more delicate, fine dining. We found the food preparation to be similar to the old Capische. We stopped going to Sarento’s for a while because the menu felt old and the sauces a little heavy, but will definitely start going back with the new style of cooking.
The food at Sarento's did not disappoint. My husband and I went at sunset to celebrate his birthday and were very impressed with the food. However, our service was a little disappointing. Our server only came to our table twice and we were there for two and a half hours. However, everyone else was very friendly and nice, I would just say this...the food is great, the view is spectacular (especially at sunset), but the service is peculiar.
Ono fresh catch dinner was perfect. Great place to enjoy sunset dinner.
We were greeted and seated promptly. Had a beautiful seat next to the beach. Immediately were provided water, bread and napkins were placed in our laps. The manager took our drink order but seemed to never make eye contact. He was nice, but not great.
Salads came and we had to ask for pepper. It felt like they had a pepper shortage as they gave us one twist and were off.
Main meal come a bit later and it was okay. I had the smoked chicken dish, my husband had the mixed seafood grill. My husband loved his dish especially the scallops. I was waiting for someone to check on how our food was and was going to order a side of marinara. However, nobody ever asked how our dishes were until we were done.
We ordered dessert, coffee and one more glass of wine. All of that came promptly.
Basically service started out great but fizzled out. Our waters went dry and we felt forgotten. Not sure if staffing was off, but we were not impressed, especially for the price of the meal.
With wine our bill was nearly $300 for the two of us. But it felt like $75 service.
It’s all about location. Comfortable environment for a lovely relaxed breakfast.
The food was very good and the atmosphere was nice. We were a party of three and arrived just after sunset so while the view was good it would have been much better if we had been there for sunset. We were seated right away but it was over 15 minutes before we got menus or water. Our waiter was very apologetic but it still took him a few more minutes to get us menus! The food however was very good. I had to wait awhile to get more water in order to finish my meal. My husband’s second drink took so long that it came after he finished his food! The waiter apologized again and didn’t charge us for his drink & gave us a complimentary desert which was nice considering we didn’t complain or ask for it. When the check came, there was an issue as well and we had to get someone to help us to resolve. I said something to the concierge and he said that happens at Sarento’s on the beach fairly often! Go for the view & food, not the service!
Chef's tasting menu was outstanding (and I was with 2 other chefs). We enjoyed everything thoroughly. A major stand out was the fois Gras. Truly a special dish. A great experience.
Outstanding service and perfectly prepared food. Right on a very beautiful Maui beach. My wife and I have lived on Maui since ‘91 and have tried many of it’s best restaurants, and Sarentos compares favourably with any of them. Friendly and attentive staff. We will definitely be returning and would recommend this fine restaurant to anyone looking for a five star experience.
My husband and I dined here for a relaxed sunset dinner. The patio had hung cafe lights and looked charming online. It was our honeymoon and we requested early seating and a romantic table. We were sat outside of the patio on a sidewalk extension without lights or cover and directly in front of the beach and beach goers. The covered patio guests enjoyed the ambiance of music and lighting and were not in the wind. I had to tie my hair back due to winds and our view of the sunset was inhibited I like the patio guests, by a palm tree grove. We asked for one of the two tables available inside the patio and they said they were reserved for VIPS. One table sat empty the entire evening, even after we left. The service was awkward overkill, with multiple people constantly coming up to check in. I asked for carbonara without pork and substituting seafood which I was nearly ridiculed for. I don’t eat pork and I didn’t mind an up charge but the manager made a very big deal about this not being how the entree is meant to be served. We asked for bread and none came. And while we were dining an “in house photographer” asked if we would like our photo taken to later purchase and when we declined he was rude and snapped at us and told us good luck taking pictures with your iPhones. The food was average and the overall experience was not great, at least for us.
Sat just outside the covered patio. Food was very good, service was a little slow out there and felt forgotten. This is the patio in front of the hotel and needs a little updating.
My husband and I went to Sarento’s for our wedding anniversary. The whole staff knew of it and everyone congratulated us. The food was very good and the service was exceptional. We were also seated by the “windows” so we had unobstructed view of the sunset. Overall, very satisfied with our experience.
Good. Just slow service and one meal came out cold and one was way behind the others
