In order to keep our staff and customers safe, we have installed 5 HEPA filters and UV lights (which kill viruses and bacteria) in all ventilation ducts in the main dining area and the SALT cellar. The philosophy at SALT is simple; a belief that the best food travels the shortest distance from farm to table, that menus should change with the seasons and that the locally sourced ingredients, combined with European technique and innovative thinking make for a truly remarkable experience. Chef Bradford Heap and his staff have made a commitment to source local, organic and fresh ingredients since day one at SALT. The menu reflects this mind-set, simple, yet elegant and delicious. The wines, while sourced all over the world offer our guests some classic profiles, while introducing them to some new and exciting choices as well as a pre-prohibition cocktails with a twist. Approachable, but sophisticated. Enjoy!

Fantastic experience. Delicious food and thoughtful service. Worked with date to make a gluten free version of the entree she wants. Have been to Salt many times and it is always good.

Server felt like they were rushing us despite plenty of open tables. The food was only okay, certainly not worth the prices charged.

I guess with a name like SALT you can assume that the food will be overly salty? Such was the case with the cod dish. It was pretty much just an extremely salty and overcooked piece of fish in a salty tomato broth with some white beans. The Brussel sprouts were sad and soggy and much too sweet. The fries were undercooked but the homemade ketchup was nice. The drinks and servers were nice, but this is not a five or four-star restaurant. It is more like a bar trying to serve good food. Both of us left wondering why this place has such good reviews.

Birthday-
Dinner was marginal - dessert was great.

Waiter could care less if we were there.
Gave no suggestions when we asked.
He could have been having a off day - just sayin overall experience was not the best

This terrific restaurant in the heart of Boulder has a well-balanced menu, delicious food, and two different scenarios in which to enjoy it - a vibrant upstairs, and a quieter downstairs. Service was excellent.

Excellent establishment with usually superb food, but this one was a huge miss.

Gnocchi were burnt, NYE menu was misprinted and misrepresented dessert items that came to table not as advertised, server didn’t introduce themselves but kept asking every 5 minutes what we wanted for the next course and hardly gave us a chance to enjoy our meal. Longtime fan of SALT and drove an hour through the snow for dinner but after being placed in their basement and repeatedly pressed for food orders that turned out mediocre by their standards, this was a disappointment. After this experience, seriously reconsidering returning or recommending to others.

The special request we wrote in and spoke about was not accommodated (even tho this was a question asked of by open table/the restaurant), the food was absolutely delicious, perfect timing as well, the server may have been new? But was not at all knowledgeable about the food or drinks being served that night, she wasn’t able to answer any of our questions on it, however she was very nice and attempted to find answers. The drinks, esp wine , were overly expensive.

Over all the four entrees and two starters were very good. The only complaint was the brioche bun for the hamburger fell apart and got soggy.

We were a party of seven, arriving on Christmas Eve at 7:00PM. No bread, and out of some entrees and desserts. (My seafood entree was excellent.) Still left a tip approaching 50%... the establishment can't help current supply chain issues, and the help deserve something because of the ridiculous COVID shutdowns. Thanks for doing your best under the circumstances.

My girlfriend and I went here for a date. The food and atmosphere were amazing but the waitress we had was slightly rude and was always hovering around really close so we couldn’t talk as we normally would. Her timing was also off so we were never ready and then when we were it took forever to come over.

The Meati cutlets (vegan whole food made from mushrooms) were delicious as was the Power Bowl. The scallop dish was a little over seared for our liking, but overall the meals were great, including the tomato soup and the chocolate pudding cake. We greatly appreciate SALT being open during these challenging times!

I feel that we have had better meals at The Kitchen Next Door for 1/2 the price. I was underwhelmed by the food. The chicken was dry and the potatoes and roasted veggies seemed overcooked. The ambience at the bar was very nice. The wine was good and the service was very good.

Really bad. My son ordered his steak medium rare. Came well done. He mentioned it to the waiter. They cooked another one… well done yet again. My French fries were not cooked. The quinoa burger was gross. Gnocchi wasn’t good. The only things decent were the mussels and the flatbread. The place completely cleared out by 9pm. Empty. We had a 745 reservation and were the only people in there by 845ish. And it was super expensive!!! The well done steak was $40+!!
Ugh never again.

Our reservations were for 5 pm. We arrived 5 minutes early. The front doors were open. The hostess rudely informed us that the restaurant was not opened yet. We asked if we could wait at a nearby couch. She said no. Other customers were turned away as well. If you set your first reservation for 5 pm then you should be able to at least greet your customers cordially if they arrive early. If you can’t do that - then lock the front door.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I would like to take responsibility that's not right and apologize I hope that you will accept my apology. I will change the policy and have the door opened at 4:45 if anyone comes early. We normally have a staff meeting from 445 so right around 5 o'clock we will now switch that to better serve and accommodate our guests. Again thank you for bringing awareness to our component of customer service. Respectfully, Brad

I was really looking forward to eating here based on other reviews. I’m sorry to say the food was horrible at best. The only good dish was my daughters vegan vegetable trio. The filet was tough and chewy which was very disappointing for a dish that is over $40. My son and I both had the burger which was very over cooked and dry. I was so in the mood for a delicious, juicy, gourmet burger, and could only eat a few bites it was so bad. The white bean soup had no flavor. It was one for the worst meals we have ever had.

Thanksgiving meal takeout for two
Turkey was good lots of mashed potatoes and gravy but very little stuffing which is my favorite part - not enough for even 1 person - like they were running out and way too much of a green bean casserole which is way to much like the yuchy ones you might have had to eat years ago.

Everything was mediocre except the Brussel Sprouts - they are amazing. Our server seemed put-out most of the evening. Decent service, just a poor attitude. The quinoa burger was not great. The regular burger was over cooked - both of them. They gladly remade them. The one meal that seemed to get rave reviews from our group was the chicken dish.

Tom’s burger was fine, but over priced. The mussels had a white bean in the tomato sauce making for a strange and heavy version of mussels as an appetizer that is usually quite light depending on how much bread you eat to soak up the the juices, which was not possible because the sauce was too thick. Our server was not all that friendly and seemed a little annoyed with us. My friend wanted some Whiskey and asked for Maker’s Mark, which they did not carry. Fine to have all these craft whiskeys, but have some standards on hand for people that are not connoisseurs of craft whiskeys and don’t know what to pick given a list. And the server did not know anything about whiskeys because she said so. Turns out he was not pleased with his random choice. Nothing fatal. We still like the place and location. We’ll be back someday.

The $4 Bread service included 4 small pieces of French bread - I was expecting something more interesting, perhaps a variety of breads, breadsticks, and flatbread. Our $14 fall salad was tasty but lacked enough of the interesting ingredients and was not worth the cost.
We sat next to the windows which was very drafty. I had to stuff my coat between my chair an the window sill to stay warm.
The gnocchi bolognese was outstanding and the Tuscan fish stew was good, but it didn’t knock my socks off.
Very good attentive service.
