Not very kid friendly, prices a little steep, food was good.
Service, food and ambience we’re great for a birthday celebration.
Salt hits all the marks: delicious food, creative use of local ingredients (without being pretentious), super-friendly and professional wait staff. I was traveling on business in Boulder, and met a dear friend there for dinner. We could not have been more delighted. Grilled pear and polenta salad, ribeye on risotto, gnocchi, and the blueberry cake with butterscotch ice cream for dessert. All awesome.
The Organic Power Bowl was super tasty and lightly dressed. The pesto Flatbread was crisp and extremely flavorful. Excellent desserts as well, especially the dark chocolate caramel sea salt tart.
Very good brunch , fresh salad and good bloody Mary
All was great but my steak came out overcooked unfortunately.
Salt was a disappointment unfortunately. Very loud! I had asked for lower sodium in my food ordered. The request was ignored so we can't go back to this location for health reasons. We wanted to give it a try since it was listed as a "Farm to Table".
My pork chop was delicious and Jo was a fantastic server.
Very good in all regards from service to drinks to food. One of Boulder’s best.
We've been to Salt numerous times and have enjoyed it every time we have been there. Walton was our server on this occasion and he was wonderful, attentive but let us have our own conversations without interruption. He had great recommendations for food and drinks. It was another excellent experience.
Easter brunch. Food is fantastic. Service great!
Good service. Creative menu options. Only negative was the gnocchi was way to soft that it broke apart when eating. Everything else was great.
Our server wasn’t very good. He told us specials were tenderloin and pork chop. We ordered tenderloin. we got tenderloin from regular menu and on way out I noticed special was ribeye, not tenderloin. We were seated early on a Saturday and they were out of both red wines on the specials menu as well. What we ordered was good, but my expectations were higher than the experience I had.
Great wine list!
A bit noisy vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
The ingredients are always fresh and the presentation excellent at Salt. The portion size was good and the dishes, seafood pesto pasta and grilled salmon with veggies, were excellent in flavor, texture, taste. Service was attentive. Date bar dessert quite good like homemade which is a compliment.
I love the atmosphere at SALT so I was excited to try it after an event with my son. While the food was fine, the service was really spotty. Someone brought over water and bread right away but then nobody came over to introduce themselves as our server for over 10 minutes. The restaurant wasn't busy so that wasn't the issue, but when our server did finally arrive, she was the person who brought the bread so that was a bit weird that she hadn't introduced herself initially. So I had to prompt her to tell us the specials and if she'd take our drink order. She must have fired the food right away because I was barely into my cocktail when the food arrived. Then the second course right on top of it and she never came by to see if we needed anything until we needed the check. This is a really pretty restaurant and would be ever greater if the service steps it up a notch.
We sat downstairs which is so intimate and lovely but unfortunately the food and service suffered. Our soup was barely lukewarm when we got it. We had to ask for bread which was COLD when the soup and salad came. When the waiter did ask how my drink was I jokingly said "Great, I'll take 4" He NEVER came back and asked if I'd like another. I had to ask for a refill on water. With all the great dining choices in Boulder, Salt won't be in the rotation again for quite some time.
I brought a friend from out of town. Having had a number of good meals at Salt I was really looking forward to it.
We had the burger and the cioppino - both were average, nothing exceptional. I was disappointed as I had talked Salt up to my friend.
Our server, Daniel, was lovely. Just the right amount of attention and he helped make it a nice evening.
For the first time, I am in no hurry to return
The food was really delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh and well seasoned. Small complaint—my poached egg yolk for eggs Benedict was hard, but it was still really good. My husband had the curried chicken salad which was by far the best dish on the table. We will come back!
Rarely do we ever come across a restaurant where we have no complaints about our table, the noise, wine, food, price or service. SALT is one of those rare times. Even better it’s farm to table, non-GMO and meats are responsibly sourced. The Caesar salad, burger and lamb dish were all well prepared and not over seasoned as is the case with most restaurant food. The vegan chocolate cake was awesome, rich but not too sweet and great texture with delicious coconut pecan sauce. Kitchen to table times were - dare I say - almost too fast, without sacrificing quality or presentation of course, but again not a bad thing. Excellent value. Good wine options for every taste and budget. We’re only in Boulder for 4 days and despite all the dining options may well eat here another time or two.
Traveled to boulder on vacation
Took my husband out for a romantic dinner, the restaurant was very loud and the tables are very close together so if you want to have a moment with your husband here expect the tables around you to be part of the conversation.
Also the most expensive meal I have ever had considering I had gnocchi and my husband had cioppino. (Sorry about the spelling). We had one appetizer between us ,our dinners were good we had one drink each and one dessert between us with a bill of 120 before tip. Although I would recommend this restaurant because of the service, which was the highlight of the meal I won't return due to the prices.
Excellent food and service! I had the chicken with Yukon mashed which was super flavorful. My wife had the beef/pork Bolognese which tasted excellent. Highly recommend SALT!
We had a wonderful Sunday brunch. You must start with the beignets, they are absolutely delish! My college son loves eggs benedict and said these were one of the best he's ever had. I had the beet salad and can't stop thinking about it! The pomegranate seeds totally make this dish. The place is super cool and if you get to sit by the window like we did, it's fun to people watch. We both agreed we need to make this our brunch spot whenever I visit him. Looking forward to trying it for dinner.
Salt had good reviews and their organic, non GMO food menu was quite attractive.
Got there and our waitress let us know they had a restaurant week menu available for $35. We thought it was a nice way to try few things on the menu. I ordered the shrimp-avocado-mango salad, the Chicken and the mango panna cotta, my friend the bean soup, the gnocchi and the coconut cheese cake. We also ordered the gluten free bread which was nothing more than 2 pieces of toast you can get from the market, not good at all. The salad was ok though the avocado had black parts which I thought was odd. The chicken was awful, very dry, over cooked and salty, the greens tasted ok and the crispy polenta was good. The mango panna cotta was good thought it had a crispy kind of waffle broken in little pieces some burned just put over the dessert. So I didn’t finish my meal, it wasn’t good. I went to the back of the restaurant to wash my hands and saw other meals served like the one I ordered and they certainly looked much different than what I got. The chicken looked juicy and more amount and the waffle served with the dessert in one piece on the side and certainly not burned. So Im not sure why I got my meal like that. Very disappointed. If this is what they served for customers who choose the set menu for restaurant week, I’d rather be warned and order from the regular menu. Not sure if I will give this place a second chance.
First time visiting SALT. The food was outstanding but the service was impeccable. Would highly recommend to others and will absolutely be back again.
High price with little portions. Very little seating, if you have a large party look somewhere else.
Chef/owner Bradford Heap consistently stays at the top of his game.
Food and wine were very good and so was our service. It made for a nice business dinner not worrying about the food and drinks. The local history of the location added to the conversation and made it interesting for my out of town guest. Thank for you the nice evening!
This is the 2nd time I have been to SALT and every time have enjoyed the meal. In this particular case what I did differently was reserve online which was awesome, not having to wait for a table, etc. however, we were put in the basement? Not a fan of the basement and thought if I made reservations that I would have at least been able to get a table upstairs. I saw tables upstairs for two, so not sure why we were put downstairs or asked if downstairs would be okay? Again, the waiter and food was excellent.
Nothing special. Slow service. Very average food. There are much better restaurants in boulder to spend your money at.
Daniel, our waiter, was attentive. Cocktail drinks were excellent.
The pork belly with apple slaw and mashed celeriac root was AMAZING. Our waiter suggested we try the fried Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and once I took my first bite I knew it was going to be a tasty evening. Seriously, my burps even tasted good afterwards. Best meal of my life.
We love Salt - such stellar food, service and ambiance. Tonight we discovered there is a basement as we were seated down there for dinner - very nice. Dinner at Salt is always a great experience!
Our go to when Visiting Boulder!
We had a great lunch: Tom's burger and the Power Bowl. Both were fantastic. Waiter was there when needed but didn't interrupt our conversation... stellar service. Thanks Salt!
Great spot. Had lunch and dinner the next night! Like to try different things when traveling but this was too good to pass up!
Despite the above answer that I would recommend this restaurant I must add that the experience "was nothing special". Things were "good" but I wouldn't recommend it to any true foodie friends. However, if you needed to find a decent meal this place would suffice.
