Fabulous food and service. Ingredients are favored from Italy with a mix of local options. Service and staff and 5 star and make a simple visit feel like an top notch experience.
The acoustics can make it hard to hear inside but noting to shy away from.
Make sure to experience the bar mixology also!
So glad we visited and thank you Vincenze for your masterful service!!!
Host and wait staff were excellent. Our waiter Vincenzo was very attentive and pleasant. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Timing of drinks and courses was perfect-we did not feel at all rushed. Definite must-try when on Marco.
The menu had been changed prior to reservation, vegetarian items were not available. There was an event going on outside, I reserved a table outside for my anniversary, it was so loud I couldn’t talk to my husband and could not hear the waitstaff either. I would not recommend.
The food was less then expected but the service made it worth every penny! The attention and attention to detail was more then expected. The bread course was disappointing and the bread was not fresh.
Very limited menu, which was a surprise since we’ve been here many times previously and there were many more selections. It was kind of loud but for some reason our waiter wouldn’t speak up loud enough for us to hear the specials. The noise, by the way, was coming mainly from other waiters talking among themselves loudly (not a busy night). Food was okay. Pasta had a good, homemade taste to it, but it was served lukewarm. Limoncelli dessert was great. Highly recommend. And we sat by a window that was curtained off for a wedding party, so we had no view of the sunset. Maybe do some investigating before booking a reservation here.
This is one of my all time favorite restaurants. And once again they did not disappoint. I believe they have the best bolognese I have ever had. Sunsets are extra beautiful from here.
Too loud And the dress code was not enforced
Very limited menu. Poor value given how expensive this restaurant is.
Celebrating birthday while on vacation, friendly service and fabulous sunsets!
Delicious food but limited menu due to renovations Service very good. Overall very good dining experience and gorgeous sunset venue!
We went to Sale e Pepe for our anniversary. The service, food, and atmosphere were very good. However, the menu was very small due to a kitchen remodel. Although understandable, a full menu would have definitely been better. We were also told men had to wear dress pants and closed toe shoes. Since my husband hadn't packed either, we went to a store and purchased both. Then come to find out, there were several gentlemen wearing both shorts and sandals. This was definitely an inconvenience for us.
Spectacular spot for a romantic sunset dinner. Service is excellent and the atmosphere outstanding. The salads were delicious. Menu is limited but solid. Excellent wine list.
Incredible evening at this one-of-a-kind Marco restaurant. We would highly recommend this restaurant for a unique and delightful dining experience. Top notch service.
Food and Service are exceptional. Wonderful ambience with a View of the Ocean. Limited menu, pricey
Always a wonderful experience! Juan was amazing as well as everyone at Sale Pepe! Thank you all!
It was very delicious. The key lime dessert is a must!!! Highly recommend!!!
Food was mediocre, service was excellent and ambiance was good....thinking their kitchen renovation has affected the overall experience....
Menu was limited. Was not the same menu as on your website. Drinks were great as well as service. Atmosphere is great! Food was just ok.
We had a lovely dinner at Sale e Pepe. We dined outside and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. Our food was fabulous. I had a tasty filet and my wife had the fish. It was fairly priced for the level of food, service and ambiance. The staff was very attentive and nice. If you are celebrating a special occasion on Marco Island you should try Sale e Pepe at the MBOR.
It was girls weekend away, We wanted to go to a beautiful dinner to celebrate our birthdays. The menu is limited the presentation was beautiful. Our salad and appetizer was very good, the steak was fatty but tasted good, the branzino was avg. as were the side. The biggest problem was the wait staff, he was unprofessional plus our waiter could not open a bottle of wine, then spilled the wine into my wine glass and just said sorry and walked away, then the other waiter tripped over a chair in which caused plates to be thrown. It was not packed there was plenty of room for them to walk with their plates away from our table. And to top it off there was a private party in the room next-door and Partiers would come out onto the patio loud and drunk. I’m sure this is an Unusual circumstance but made for a less than perfect evening. On the positive side the hostess was wonderful
Food and service excellent
Our favorite special dining venue did not disappoint. Though it just opened and had a limited menu, our meal selections were all absolutely outstanding. We shared the Autunnale salad and it was amazing....crisped prosciutto squares, fall greens, pear, walnuts and shaved pecorino...perfection. Then we had the flounder and the tagliatelle with truffles and a poached egg and both were off the charts. The terrace cannot be beaten for its stunning sunset view over the Gulf. The service was not quite up to its usual level but was still solid. It is pricey, but worth it.
Double date. Beautiful sunset and excellent service. They go above and beyond. Gourmet cocktails hand crafted by charismatic bartenders.
Reason why Iwould not recommend the restaurant are: Whilst the food and the ambience was excellent the menu was extremly poor. 2 fish entres and practically one steak (although with different sizes) are extremely poor for a place like that. No specials were available that evening but even if there had been any it would have been too less. Prices were - even taking into account the charm of the place - exorbitant. Although the quality of the food was excellent, fish for $ 42,- plus 12,- for side orders is not worth the whole experience. Sitting outside with a wonderful view to the sunset is one thing. Trying to read your check without any light is another. Candles were blown out by the breeze and nobody would provide you with any e.g. little lamp gadget to help you figuring out whether your bill was ok. Hope this was not on purpose. Adding a 15% service charge without telling you and requiring the customer to add gratuity is somewhat disgusting and seems greedy. Being guest in Florida I don't no if that fullfills the requirements for restaurants by law. So putting all these facts together I would say we have made the experience once but if we would do that a second time is more than doubtful. I definitely would not make any recommendation to friends for visiting the place.
There was a wedding going on, which impacted noise level and service. Limited menu but everything we gad was delish!
Beat restaurant on Marco island
Exquisite. Hands down the finest meal I’ve had in Marco!
This was their first day of opening for the winter season, but they hit the ground running. While the menu was limited everything our party of six ordered was superb. I particularly enjoyed their no salad and my Grande Banks Flounder. Remember if you are expecting their large multi faceted menu, you will not find it at this stage.
When we stay at the MBOR we always dine at Sale e Pepe. Food is consistently good and service and ambiance as well. Highly recommend this place if you’re staying in Marco Island.
My boyfriend asked me to marry him here!! I said YES! :) beautiful location, gorgeous sunset, & the food was incredible! The staff was so sweet and celebrated us! A memory and experience I will never forget!!
As you enter this grand restaurant, you are stepping back in time to the architecture and the ambiance of any of Italy's finest places to dine. Who would believe that Sale e Pepe is only sixteen years young!! The lovely hostess, and Boris, the tender of the Bar, were very welcoming as we waited for our table inside. Everything about this beautiful establishment is refined and the table settings and the view just put it over the top. Now to the most expert service of Okan... we were so lucky to have him guide us through the menu offerings. My husband chose the Mediterranean Branzino, and he is still bragging about how perfect and delectable it was. I had the expertly prepared Rib Eye, which melted in my mouth along with the Asparagus and Potato Sides. The wine choices were very reasonable and our evening was made complete because we were able to bring some of our very generous meals home to be enjoyed again. Please treat yourselves to this divine experience while on the Island!
The bar was great because Boris the bartender was most accommodating with us on wine tastings. The view outside watching the sunset was spectacular. Our appetizers, entries and desert were great. It was our wedding anniversary so they gave us a free desert. We had the tiramisu martini that was not too good. But then we went to the chocolate martini which was outstanding. Overall we highly recommend this restaurant!!!!!!!
The overall ambiance is great. However, we arrived early and were not seated even though our table was ready. The menu is limited and there was no catch of the day on a Saturday. The service was extremely slow.
The staff was nice, helpful, and respectful. They double checked with the chef to ensure my girlfriend's food restrictions wouldn't be an issue. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family! Marko was wonderful and attentive, made wonderful recommendations and made our experience a great one.
This is one of the few place's that catered to a gluten-free diet.
Pretentious, poor service and overpriced, lovely setting and good food .
It was recommended to go here for sunset, but there was a wedding so we could not go outside or see the sunset. Food was just medium. Staff had fake accents. The bartender was amazing. Would go back to sit at the bar.
Wow! Food and Service was excellent! If you can sit on the balcony do so the sunset was beautiful!
I want to start off by saying my girlfriend and I have worked in the restaurant business in the past so we know what to expect. First of all, we waited to be seated for our reservation. Took about 5 minutes to be sat. Restaurant was not full so that was surprising that it took that long to be seated. Then it took a bit for someone to come by. A man offered us water. Then it was another 5 minutes for our waiter to take our drink order. We received our drinks and placed our order. We order caprese salad and 2 main dishes. We told him we would probably share them. Caprese salad came out and it was relatively small in size for the price. My girlfriend and I split it. Eventually they brought out one main dish split in 2 plates. Not what we asked. We wanted it to all come out at once. The food was average at best and not worth the price. But we ate it. Then we waited for the other main dish we wanted to have been brought out at the same time. And waited. And waited. Another young man came out and said it would be out soon. 10 minutes later. He came back and apologized for the delay and said it was coming out soon. At this point, 75 minutes after we initially walked in to the restaurant, we wanted to leave. The restaurant was empty so there could not have been an issue with the kitchen being “ in the weeds”. Our order was not put in. Flounder does not take long to cook. And once the flounder came out, it was dry. We asked for a to go box. We never ate it. The young man who originally came out to apologize agreed to take off our drinks, which was a glass of moscato and a bottled beer. That was nice but in my honest opinion not worth it. We left. Unfortunately because we were staying at the resort, which we have no complaints about, the gratuity was already included. If there was better service I would have put more money down. But I was completely dissatisfied and would not recommend this place to anyone staying there.
Great location great food understaffed and little attention to details on drink orders or clearing empty dishes
Bottom line is a good restaurant with weak service and great view
