Sage Restaurant - Tallahassee
Our MISSION is to serve the best food, give the best service, and offer a friendly atmosphere for our guests and employees.
Excellent food and service for a reasonable price. My only critique, as trivial as it is, is that the infrastructure is showing its age. For example, the table was not level and rocked. The toilet was in need of repair or replacement.
Our waiter was the best!!
What an unexpected surprise! Visiting town for a sports event we chose to dine at Sage based on OpenTable reviews. The food was fantastic - perfectly prepared and presented, very tasty and extremely well priced. Our server was one of the best I have had, just about perfect! The overall experience was better than many supposedly higher end / expensive restaurants that I have been in recently, and was my best restaurant experience of 2019! Well done to all of you at Sage and would recommend to anyone and already have!
We loved the fresh seafood tower even if they were out of crab legs.
My husband wasn't impressed with the pickled anchovies in his Ceasar salad.
The escargot had an unique crunch and was garlicky delicious. The French onion soup wasn't beefy but was fine n dandy. The wine selection and server were great.
Amazing, never disappoints
Food and service were exceptional! Our lovely server had wonderful recommendations and took great care of us. Had limited wardrobe since we hear evacuating from the hurricane, but were still treated as valued guests. Thank you so much for the great experience! Also glad to see Manifest Gin on the cocktail menu!
From our appetizers, drinks, meal and dessert with cocktails this dining experience was amazing. We have never been disappointed with Sage.
Loved the escargots and pretzel cake
Pricey by reliable. Service is usually smooth and professional. Great bartender, food is properly and imaginatively prepared.
A very pleasant way to spend a birthday luncheon. The staff was very accommodating, which made for a wonderful afternoon.
We took our family to Sage. They were visiting from South Florida. We had escargot, and crab cakes for hors doerves. They were excellent. We had pork chops, salmon, salad & oysters. All perfect. Service great as well
A friend and I made a reservation for a birthday celebration. Our food was delicious and the service was great!
Especially with the delightful Marion!
Service and food was outstanding. Highly recommend the cheese board.
Adam was a great server, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect for a long, overdue catch up with a friend.
Love the food at Sage, and the service was excellent.
Delicious chicken and mushroom crepes. Always a good go to dish!
It is always a pleasure to dine at Sage This was my 3rd time there in 2 weeks.
As always delicious! We had the country fried steak and it was the best I’ve ever eaten and the pickle brined chicken sandwich was so good!
I have been going to Sage for lunch for years--superb! Only recently did I begin going for dinner. It was also superb, but quite a different experience. The menu, atmosphere, and ambiance seem to change gears to take diners to that special place one wants for an evening meal.
Sage never fails to provide interesting and tasty food. They combine ingredients to deliver a dining experience that is not seen in many other venues in Tallahassee. The level of service is also in the very top tier of Tallahassee establishments. Highly recommended!
Always a predictable treat! Your servers are as outstanding as the meals served!
We had brunch here and found the service and atmosphere to be excellent. Most of the food was excellent also. The only minuses were that the Hussarde sauce was almost missing from the eggs Hussarde and the oyster's bodies almost universally without texture (the sauces on them and the delicateness of their frying almost made up for the lack of texture). For tradition sake, we would have loved to have seen Bananas Foster on the desert menu, but you can't always have everything you desire. But...these were minor failings in an otherwise excellent meal. It was a great experience and highly recommended.
Had an amazingly awesome dinner at Sage last night! Not pictured are the best fried oysters I’ve ever had! (Fried in a light tempura batter with a killer saracha yum yummy sauce. We had 3 orders before it was all over.) Scott’s bday was the occasion. 🎉🎂🎉 — with Cris Crawford Becker and Bob Becker.
Great place for date night or a group of friends. Wonderful wine selection, eclectic dishes, fresh seafood! Loved everything about it!
frosted windows hiding the outside world, attentive bar tenders, and a chill vibe make SAGE a must-visit for locals and tourists alike. our server- "liz" was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and not-in-a-hurry-to-clear-a-table. we will be back- and we're bringing friends!
(oh, the food is amazingly uncomplicated and delicious!)
Upon arrival the two people at the desk were too busy with their own priorities' to look up or acknowledge our presence for a good 2-3 mins.. Ok but the place wasn't that busy. We were then seated in a back corner Ok it just didn't feel like we were involved. The waitress was nice. I saw they had lobster and my thoughts went to steak and lobster. They had an 8oz filet on the menu for $42.00 better be good.. When I inquired about adding the lobster tail I was more than willing to pay the $25 but the server informed me it was chilled so we knew it wasn't fresh. I settled for just the filet. My daughter was interested in sharing the seafood platter with lobster, steamed mussels, with a half dozen additional seafood items. My drink then arrived and the clear large ice cube floating in my drink smelled like fish!! At this point I have a knot in my stomach trying not to ruin the evening. I had to ask the waitress the obvious question, "Is any of the seafood hot"? The answer was no. Not even the steamed mussels. I felt like the chef was more concerned about efficient utilization of the food inventory than a appetizing menu! Some people try to be too shrewd for their own good! I asked my daughter if she would mind if we moved our celebration to a different restaurant and she agreed! Way too many indicators that this establishment has serious yet correctable issues! In all my 62 years and countless dining experiences every year I can't remember that last time I was seated ordered and canceled a meal. However I did leave the server a nice tip!
Dean, We are sorry that you did not find the offerings from our chilled, raw bar appealing. All of our seafood is prepared daily and chilled for service. I am positive that in 62 years of dining, you have encountered a raw bar and would know what it offers. We hope that you give us a try another day and see the value in what we offer.
We went to Sage to celebrate my Mom's bday. We had a table in the back room across from the bar. Decor was bland in that room. Upon arrival, I told the waitress that we would pay for our side of the table. Food was extremely high priced and so were the drinks.
They didnt have Myers Rum and also no Tangeray Gin which two of our guests wanted. After about 20 min they came and told us they would have to substitute.
We finished our meal and diferent waitress brought my husband the bill without a breakdown of the cost for the whole table. For 6 of us, the bill with 15 percent tip was $540.00
I will never go there for dinner again.
Top three favorite places to go in Tallahassee. Food is amazing, drinks are delicious, and service is first class.
The lunch experience is wonderful! I often have the sirloin steak salad--PERFECTION!
Excellent as usual. Great variety of tastes.
The crab cakes were delightful and the sauce even better. We enjoyed the scallops and the Asian salmon. They have a lovely wine selection. Liz are server was great. Tonight it was loud but not usually.
Sage is my all-time favorite Tallahassee restaurant! I am a realtor and I brought a new client with me, for dinner, last Saturday night. After a long day of looking at beautiful homes, this was a well-deserved ending to a productive day! Everything was absolutely perfect, from the cocktails (The Last Word and a daquiri) to the salads (Yuzu-pressed watermelon) and then the main course ( Lamb soooo good!). The service was well-timed and wonderful. And the ambiance is always lovely as always! I always recommend sage as my top choice for an unforgettable meal in Tallahassee!
Fantastic, as always!
Everything was superb.
Food and service were both outstanding. Adam did a great job
