Menu is not very friendly. I realize it is upscale but a baked drumstick on top of collard greens and a tablespoon of mashed potatoes does not equal $30, sorry.

Bravo au chef et toute la brigade. La nourriture était excellente. Beaucoup d'attention et de subtilité dans les plats.

Too much red pepper, hot additives masked taste of food. Service slow, expensive small plates....tried it...once was enough. Haughty atmosphere

I was the only diner at the dining room when I arrived at approximately 6:45pm. I ordered the alligator mirliton for an appetizer. The chunks of alligator were cooked unevenly, some sides were near burnt, the other sides golden pale. The whipped mirliton was tasteless and uneventful. Had the dish been successful with crispy evenly cooked alligator if would have rendered the crispness soggy with the white remoulade. Worst, no one ever came by to ask how my food was and I was a sole diner in the dining room with a full staff! My snapper entree arrived 40 minutes after I ordered. The fish was bland, over peppered for a delicate fish. The dirty rice was lukewarm . This dish failed again. Even though the dirty rice was lukewarm, had I closed my eyes I wouldn’t be able to tell you the flavor profile. This time my server did come by mid-way as I was eating my entree. I told her my disappointment especially with the rice. She asked if she could “re-heat” it. Re-heat? Seriously this is hospitality? Not even an offer to have the kitchen remake? When the server brought the bill she said “Sorry you didn’t like your fish” with the same insincerity as the rest of my experience -uninspired. A waste of my money, I regret leaving even a 10 percent tip. One of the worst meals and restaurant experiences and I drove six hours specifically for Sac-a-Lait. Never again.

This is a farm to table concept that puts a contemporary spin on traditional Cajun dishes.

Our meal was amazing! The flavors combined with local fare was exceptional! The unique crafted cocktails were scrumptious. The staff was attentive. The restaurant is very appealing due to the craftsmanship of iron, wood and spectacular lighting! We were fortunate to meet Sam Carroll and she was delightful! Some of our favorites that night were the hen gumbo and the sides that accompanied it, shrimp chevrettes, stewed okra, blue cheese frog legs and rabbit ravioli. Can’t wait to fine there again!
