Head Chef Matteo Ponti brings close to two decades of experience shaped by his roots in the Italian countryside and a global culinary journey. Originally from Piedmont, Matteo earned his first Michelin star at the age of thirty while leading a contemporary Italian kitchen in Singapore, where he spent a decade refining his craft.

His menu at Mimosa is more than a collection of dishes — it's a personal journey. From the traditions of rural Italy, through the vibrant markets of Southeast Asia, to the native produce of the South Coast of NSW, each plate tells a story of season, memory, and travel. Such a lovely night! We got the feed me and dietaries were well catered for with no fuss! Everything came out in such a well timed manner and all the flavours were so delicious! Additionally, it was such a wonderful experience to be seated at the communal table, very lively and added to the ambience of the night! Thank you both front and back of house for a wonderful night!

This is the in-house restaurant at Goonoo Goonoo Station, a little under 25 klm to the south of Tamworth, and it's also open for public bookings. The atmosphere in the restaurant is good, and both the food and the service are great. A special thanks to Chef Jarrod who took the time to come out and discuss my wife's dietary requirements with her. It is a special type of chef who wants to do that, and it makes a difference.
