The menu features produce harvested at peak freshness from local farms, highlighting each element through refined Japanese cooking techniques. The open kitchen allows guests to observe the preparation of courses, while the choice “Chef’s Counter” features four exclusive seats where guests can interact with the chef throughout their meal. The food itself was close to perfectly done. The portions were a bit too small, or dinner was one course short. My large complaint is with the drinks. The pairing was of no value to the meal, and the cost of drinks was a bit of a joke. Service was too relaxed and inattentive.

Omakase By Aung is modern, up beat and contemporary sushi omakase restaurant located at 567 Kapahulu Ave next to world famous Waikiki beach in Honolulu. Mixture of Edomae style nigiris and model innovative nigiris will be served in 1 hour 45 minutes long Omakase meal. Seasonal fish from around the world are used in the 15 courses omakase meal.
Omakase by Aung provides single 15 courses menu to all customers for both Lunch and Dinner Service.
Chef Aung will provide laid back and fun experience for all sushi lovers. Open kitchen with a long 12 seats sushi counter in the middle of the restaurant allows interactive experience between the customers and the chefs.

I’m so glad I booked a reservation here. The food was delicious and creative. The atmosphere was laid back and fun. The staff were friendly and professional. It was the perfect night out. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

I eat very often at omakase restaurants. This was my first time here. This was an excellent meal, and easily the most affordable given the number of courses and quality that I have been to on the island.

This is the best hidden gem on Maui! The food is handmade and European authentic. Hands down some of the best food we have ever had, and certainly the best on Maui! Highly recommend making a reservation (you must have one) and visiting this quaint little place while on the island. You will NOT regret it!

Enjoyed our dining experience at Gyoshin. The sushi omakase was presented with fresh ingredients, excellent selections, well executed and in a "quiet" relaxing atmosphere. Consider this one of the best sushi omakase experiences for the price. The restaurant is also BYOB which is an added plus. The restaurant has a seven seat sushi counter so being able to get a reservation may be challenging but well worth the effort. I have another upcoming reservation which I highly look forward to enjoying.

We have 3 Omakase seatings daily... 2:00 pm, 5:00 pm or 7:30 pm. Any allergies will need to be noted prior to the reservation date, so a special menu can be prepared. (We cannot accommodate the guest with all shellfish allergy, vegetarian, Kosher, gluten intolerance, or if you do not like uni)
