We are not a ‘fancy pants’ establishment. Not in the least. We offer good quality, home-cooked, locally sourced (where possible) food. 90% of our menu is made on the premises. Certainly not ‘Pub Grub’ but not ‘Gastro Pub’ either. It’s good value for money. However, our standards are high, very high. Not only in the quality of the food that comes into and leaves the kitchen but also in the presentation, the delivery to the table and overall customer service. We’re definitely not ‘Silver Service’ either but all of our staff are attentive, smartly dressed and will always go that extra mile wherever they can. These are just some of the reasons we were awarded the Taste of the West GOLD award in 2019.
We are a dog friendly establishment, very dog friendly. However, please tell us at the time of booking so that we can place you in our Bar area , as opposed to our Restaurant.

Our first visit to this pub The Cross House tucked away in the picturesque village of Doynton, The Cross House is a charming country pub that delivers a warm welcome and a proper taste of the West Country. With its classic stone exterior and inviting garden, it’s was the perfect spot for leisurely drink and relaxed meal with our friends. Fantastic evening. Service was excellent, they brought water for our dog and were attentive during our meal. The food was delicious, best vegan Indian meals we’ve had even compared to London.

Lovely Italian restaurant, close to all the central tourist highlights, and they are dog friendly! Great service, really charming team. Food was great with a few interesting specials.

We like Côte, our second visit in six weeks. It was busy especially considering it was a Monday. Food and service very good as usual. However for the second time, at least three dishes were not available. Someone meds to get on top of the re-ordering. Highly recommended.

The White Horse is nestled opposite the beatuiful church in Bradford on Tone, with a lovely river walk along the Tone just round the corner. Inside you'll find a cosy bar, complete with log burner, and a spacious restaurant. Our stunning garden is the perfect spot for al fresco dining in the summer months, and our wonderful old skittle alley (complete with it's own bar) is hireable for all kinds of events.

Our menu keeps it simple and offers all the traditional pub favourites, whilst our daily changing specials board focuses on creative dishes using the best of seasonal produce. On the bar you'll find a full range of lagers and local cider, with a fab wine list from local vinter Paddy Magill, as well as our very own cask ale from Black Bear Brewery.
