There were not a lot of servers there, even though it was a weekend. This unfortunately and slowed down food and drink delivery. The food was very good as well as drinks, but the dining experience took a lot longer than we would have liked. I definitely will continue to go there though but getting automatic 15% tip added with just the 2 of us was not appealing when they said only parties of 8 or more had that added on posted on the table.

A simply amazing "beverage dinner" - all very creative, both the eating and drinking. Perhaps, one of the finest "wine dinners" we have ever attended. Price/value was supersonic. Only slight issue was how long it took.

Our party of four was initially seated inside, right by the musician playing wonderful Greek music. It was too loud for us old folks so we asked if we could eat outside. They accommodated us beautifully, and the service was excellent. We opted for a selection of small plates to share. Our server made several very helpful suggestions. We especially enjoyed the calamari, octopus, and braised lamb. We split the walnut cake with yogurt and berries; the perfect finish to a delicious meal.

I am not a fan of the new family-style menu. The opening act isn't that good. Appetizer, why would you add Calamari, considering there are so many seafood allergies? That was a bust to me. Also, the fettuccine only had like five strips of chicken, which also lacked sauce. This wasn't my best experience. Not to mention the beef tenderloin was raw. We asked for medium temp, and it was bloody as soon as you cut it. This is one of my favorite places to eat, but the changes to the family-style service aren't pleasing at all. I will not be ordering family style again, unless they change the choices to better options. I hope changes are made for several reasons.

Our Durham, NC Japanese restaurant is the only Kanki location with a To-Go number, and we make picking up take out orders fast and simple with designated parking spaces and an easily accessible “Take Out” door.
