With an environment that blends architectural and familial history with modern Tuscany styles, the warmth and welcome is as tangible as the delicious scents floating from the kitchen. Nonna's Kitchen is a multiple award winning and locally owned establishment operated by Tobias Steeves and his siblings. After taking over the the original owners in 2021 they have sought to elevate the experience even further by adding a full bar and focusing on quality handmade dishes and superb service. Tobias is also a world class bartender and mixologist who has placed nationally in numerous mixology competitions and personally curates our cocktail menus and spirits lists. When you stop in, you'll likely see a few of the family working in the restaurant (6 of the 8 kids in the family work here and keep Nonna's running well), and this is what Nonna's Kitchen is really about - when you dine with us, you are dining with family and friends!

Meander embodies relaxed indulgence. Be prepared to enjoy your multi-course meal carefully and thoughtfully crafted by Executive Chef Dan Gullickson, who designs the tasting menu each evening. Courses range from five to 12, depending on fresh ingredients available from on onsite greenhouse, the season, and any themes we may be highlighting (such as Chinese New Year or St. Patrick's Day).

Our bar is finely curated to offer mid- to top-shelf spirits, with an curated wine and beer list. All mixes, salts, and syrups for cocktails and mocktails are made in house and augmented with fresh ingredients.

The dining room seats 18 people, so each person's experience is personal, private, and delightful. We only offer one seating in the evening at 6:00. Bar opens at 5:00. Meander is the onsite restaurant for Shortgrass Resort, built by Cappie, Alex (Sprout), and Rachel, as seen on Building Outside the Lines on the Magnolia Network and streaming on Max.

Riccardo and Marybeth welcome you to their 3rd property, Maribella Ristorante. Opening R Wine Bar & Kitchen in 2018, and Vespa Catering and Brix Wine Bar in 2022, they have created a culture of hospitality for guests who feel like family. Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and moved to Boston when he was 5-years-old. He stayed in the Boston area for college and attended Tufts University. Marybeth, born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD, moved to Boston to be a nanny and went to Somerville School of Nursing. The two met in Medford, MA, dated and became engaged in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard in 1996. Relocating to Sioux Falls, SD in 1999, Riccardo and Marybeth have developed a reputation for making people feel welcome with their three boys, Dante, Berent, and Jaxon. Together with their hand-picked team, Riccardo and Marybeth bring the best parts of hospitality to life in their restaurants, for both their staff and guests. We believe in supporting our local artisans and staying connected to our Black Hills community. At a time when the area is growing and expanding, we are striving to keep the flavor of the region alive.

Inspired by the history of this area, both the aesthetics of the building and the diversity of the menu are true to our local roots, something no nation-wide franchise can duplicate. Certainly, there are other steakhouses out there, but none like ours.

From the first design to the actual construction, we have focused on creating a balance between upscale dining and a casual atmosphere-crafting a chic steakhouse where the kids are welcome too.
