   Reservations in advance still left us with a half hour wait by the door with ‘to go’ diners ordering & crowding around us, hostess at front desk pointed at us to imply our table was ready… I’ve dined here many times before & it was always wonderful… and i understand everyone’s struggling with staffing, but the meal was very late & not very nice - grisly steak, room-temp baked potato, everything seemed tired & as tho it had been made WAY ahead & sent back to the fridge & reheated… very loud environment & for a place with a dress code posted on the website AND the front door- it was not at all enforced. Maybe this was just one sad Monday, but it felt like the tide has turned for Ruth’s Chris.

   We are truly fans of Ruth’s Chris and try to go there every year we’re in Maui. The food was outstanding as usual but the service was not up to par. The waiter that we had was Steve. He smiled and was pleasant but really didn’t want to wait on my wife and I. He had two tables with 4 people sitting near us that he waited on all the time but we had to stop him to place our order. He told us he could wait around a little longer he guessed. We then had to stop him again to get our bill. Normally I’m a pretty generous tipper but gave him a lower tip than normal. I still would recommend Ruth’s Chris but would not recommend this waiter. Oh and my wife had written on the reservation that it was my birthday. He never acknowledged that but brought a dessert to the table next to us wishing them Happy Birthday.

   What we liked: the restaurant was quiet, we were able to easily converse. The service was great: water glass was kept topped off, the server and the other table staff were attentive and checked in at appropriate times, drinks, appetizer and meals were well-paced. Evona “Vona”, he was amazing-everywhere without rushing (in a good way..very fluid), busy clearing, setting, packing up leftovers. Other staff were very friendly. The food was very good but not fantastic (we enjoyed our meal but didn’t have an “oh wow, let’s come here again”). Prices very high considering what other high-end establishments provided in the way of atmosphere, views, and menu. What we didn’t like: sign on door indicated a dress code, however there really wasn’t one-men wearing baseball hats, women scantily clothed.

   It’s always great I’ve been eating there for over 20 years at different Ruth’s Chris the first one is in Nashville Tennessee than Florida. I’ve been all over the country. Ruth’s Chris is consistent and every restaurant always excellent food.

    I cannot eat steak, but my husband adores it. So I have the sea bass, which comes sizzling to the table and is incredibly delicious. As always, his steak is perfectly cooked and fork tender. He likes the mashed potatoes (who wouldn’t?) And I like the sautéed asparagus spears. You can’t beat those for side dishes. It is hard for us to choose to go anywhere else for dinner, since we know how satisfying our Ruth‘s Chris steak House meals will be.

    Excellent place to go for a special occasion. Steve is an amazing waiter! Food is always great no matter what we order. Cannot get a better T-bone anywhere on this island!

    Everything was perfect! Jared was our server and he went above and beyond. It was my birthday but one of my 6 guests asked him to put a candle in each dessert and he happily obliged. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Food was delicious. A great evening.

    Our dinner was absolutely fantastic, but our server, Steve was even better. We were here during our honeymoon celebrating one week of marriage and he made the evening special for us. We’ll always have a great memory of this night. Ate: petite fillet, sizzling crab cakes, asparagus, garlic mashed. All 10/10.

    Our waiter, Steve in Wailea was superb! He was very friendly and always made sure we were doing well during our meal. The whole staff was fantastic!!! And the food! It was excellent!!!! First time trying the stuffed chicken breast, it was fantastic!!!!

    Very good as usual. Not a complaint but the sweet potato casserole was on the dry side. Never before have we seen this as our meals have always been consistent. It was good to see your waiter Steve again. As long as we’ve been coming to Maui we have seen him working. Always polite and informative.

    $50 for a couple of bread rolls? Wow. And no French fries... steak frites is one of the world's classics, but if you ask for potatoes at Ruth's Chris, you can have mash. Or mash. And the bread was OK, nice enough that we asked for a second serve. But $50?

    I really loved it; only not sure what ingredients was used that gave me awful heartburn as all i ate was the tomahawk and bake potato, unless it was the beer pairing. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.

    Elegant atmosphere as always. Our server was delightful! Three of us had perfect filets. Au gratin potatoes and the creamed spinach were plenty to share between the three of us. Delightful evening!

    If you love butter and salt, this is your kind of place. Left there underwhelmed but appreciative of our super helpful server Dave. However, wow were our two steaks SALTY. All the staff was great. However the manager should not walk by tables explaining to a server why someone was sending something back. I will not be going back to another Ruth’s Chris. There are better options for my taste buds.

    The only negative is that you are known for your steaks but you have no fries or likewise. What a shame. I went wanting steak and frites, shoe string potatoes, but had to settle for garlic mashed. Not up to expectations. A head office decision? Give your head a shake.

    Three people... one steak overdone ... two steaks underdone but flavor was still great! Manager said there was a new cook but that he will be told about it. Given dessert choices . We all ordered the crème brûlée and it was OUTSTANDING! Server ... Jared....was attentive and good! Will be back!
