Delicious, wonderful service!
I’ve been to many Ruth’s Chris across the nation and this was by far the least impressive. They did do a little extra decoration for the birthday but had us wait an extra 5-10 mins beyond our 9pm reservation to be seated. Seafood tower was still partially frozen when served. French onion and bisque were on point and may have been the highlight of the meal next to the Caymus Cab. My bone in filet ordered Pittsburgh Rare came out medium before it cooked more on the plate, but I ate it and it was a good cut even over cooked. Fiancé ordered the 6oz filet Oscar seasonal special that came out as a 12oz filet without the Oscar topping at 2x the price. We didn’t end up touching the lobster Mac and cheese or corn sides and took her birthday cheesecake to go...all of which was overpacked into too small to go containers and leaked all over the back seat on the ride home.
Our water glasses were empty 70% of the meal even after asking for refills multiple times (when asked if we needed anything).
I’ll definitely give other locations another shot, but doubt we’ll return to our hometown Ruth’s. Too many other great steakhouses around town at a similar price point.
Jose’ was absolutely fantastic. I will request him every time I return to your restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Our dinner was in celebration of my husband’s birthday and did not disappoint. Ruth’s Chris has always been our go to place for steaks. Our waiter Jose was awesome. Great experience all the way around.
Happy anniversary! We're thrilled that you chose to celebrate with us, and we're glad to hear you enjoyed everything.
Food was awful. Needed a chainsaw to cut my steak and waiter spilled wine everywhere
We are sorry to hear this, and would like to speak to you further. Would you please send your contact information, including a phone number, in a private reply to us? We appreciate your business and would welcome the opportunity to make this right!
So glad they participated in HRW this year. Outstanding meal as always and an incredible HRW value. A stunning meal.
The food was outstanding as usual. However, the service was a little slow-2 hours and 15 minutes from start to finish. It was not really crowded. I don’t really think it was our server but was the kitchen. Still the best steak ever even though a bit expensive.
Thanks for the review, Aggie! If there is anything we can do to make your experience a 5 star one, please private message us. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
Service was quick and pleasant.
We had a great time! The food was delicious and our waiter, Jose was great!!
In comparison to other restaurants, the Houston Restaurant Week menu was a little boring. The steak was delicious. The potatoes and cheese cake was average.
The best steak in Houston...velvet like, very tender, you can smell the butter sizzling on your plate.
Max did a great job on recommendations. Steak was better than Pappa Bros.
My overall experience at Ruth Chris was just ok. I didn't like the extra wait time even though we had a reservation. We waited an additional 30 mins from our arrival time. The hostess were being rude to one another. I didn't like that either. The service was slow.
Our server was awful! Also, we made a reservation but was sat within the bar area, not good. It's restaurant week and we were not offered the restaurant week menu or charge appropriately. The food was delicious as usual.
The quality of the food was very good as has been the tradition of Ruth’s Chris. While the server was friendly it was nearly impossible to get his attention and service was slow. We wondered if since we ordered off the Houston Restaurant week’s menu maybe he felt his gratuity would be lower as our total check was. A table next to us felt the same way about the poor service. He did seem to be attentive to a larger table he was also serving. It is a shame that this really affected our dining experience.
Flawless as always. I've tried every high end steak house in the city, and I continue to come back to Ruth's Chris. It's my favorite, and hands down, is the best of the bunch. The steaks are delicious and cooked to perfection; the Caesar salad is the best I've had at any restaurant; the sides, appetizers, and desserts are excellent; wine list is extensive; cocktails are well prepared; service is impeccable; and the complimentary valet parking is a plus. Ruth's Chris is a great place for a date night or to celebrate a social occasion. I can find no fault with the Houston location of this amazing chain. I've been eating at RC since it opened in New Orleans before it was franchised. As a Baton Rouge native, I continued to eat at the first franchise on Corporate Blvd, and 30+ years later continue to enjoy RC all over the US when I travel. It doesn't matter what city a RC is in, the food is consistently excellent. Highly recommend!
I love the ambiance....The food was great....great customer service
HRW MENU- everything great except for the chicken, too salty ; creamed spinach and onion soup too rich and the strawberry shortcake not moist..
Excellent for the steak and the salmon!, the service, ambience and decors and valet!!!
The food and ambiance was great. I had Lamb Chops for the first time and they were delicious! The stuffed chicken was great. & that corn was AMAZING! I will be returning.
We enjoy this time of year and are always excited to participate in Houston’s restaurant week - 3 course meal for $45 with the option to add a lobster tail for an additional $18 - we felt like we had committed a crime worth double what we paid!
Restaurant have excellent customer services and food was delicious.
Ramon was excellent
Food is very good but service is lacking for money spent.
The steak and sides were fabulous. The service at our table was not up to par with the what we have been used to there. The waiter had no wine recommendations so we picked what we knew and it was good its just fin to try new things. He guessed the seasonal desert wrong and it was not what he said it was when it came out. I was full and only got desert because it came with restaurant week but he should know.
Service was excellent. Max was exceptional and very attentive to our needs
Terrible service, beginning with our table not being ready until 15 minutes past our reservation time with no apology. Service was slow, and split between to servers, who were also unapologetic. They also over-cooked my steak, and never even asked how it tasted.
Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. This is certainly not how we wanted your visit to go. We'd like to learn more -- please consider sending us your contact information, including a phone number so that we can reach out to you directly. Thank you!
Food and service was outstanding!
The food was just ok, nothing spectacular for a restaurant of that status.
Top notch service. Waiter John was attentive, and compliments to the chef for an amazing dinner.
Thank you for being a part of my husband's birthday celebration!
Great birthday dinner for husband
Waited a little while but dood and service were great.
We were celebrating my 36th birthday. My ribeye was incredible and the service was great. We love Ruth’s!
The food was excellent, but the service was sorely lacking..
The food was delicious. The service was exceptional! Michael was an excellent server, very attentive, called us by name. Anticipated our needs before we asked.
This was my first and last time dining at Ruth Chris. Other choices for my birthday dinner were Steak 48, Perry Steak House. or Eddie V’s.
I had great expectations, but was unfortunately, disappointed. Our server was not attentive, and only did just enough. We had dinner at Perry’s two weeks ago for date night, and the waiter was excellent. I was so disappointed last night.
My lamb chops were also over cooked. I ordered medium well; however, they arrived well done. I could see it was over cooked before I cut into it, but I was too hungry to wait for another one.
Mercedes was our Server for the meal. She was excellent in every way. Great personality, wonderful service. Made us feel as if we were the only people in the restaurant. What a great experience
My wife and I love Ruth's Chris and eat at their restaurants all around the US. It's a special occasion meal for us. We went to the Houston Ruth's Chris for our 25th Wedding Anniversary - our first time at this location. Overall it was a nice experience, but nearly as nice as other Ruth's Chris locations we've eaten at in the past. The overall feel was a little dated - probably constrained by the actual building structure that cuts up the space into odd sections. The food was outstanding as always - very consistent. One disappointment was that I had called ahead to have a high end bottle of wine opened up in advance of our meal but when we arrived it was still in the bottle. I had talked to the manager, Randy, directly so very surprised that it wasn't in a decanter on the table when we sat down. Also, normally for a special occasion there is a signal with rose petals to signify an anniversary or birthday. Nothing was on our table even though I'd put it in the reservation notes and reconfirmed it with the manager, Randy. In fact the waiter asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and I said "25th Wedding Anniversary" and he was caught a bit off guard. The evening was fine - but not the special experience we've grown to expect at Ruth's Chris.
Great service. Great wine. Great food.
