Ruth's Chris Steak House - North Raleigh Ratings and Reviews
We go to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse every Thanksgiving and have for the past 6 years. We love this tradition and will continue into the foreseeable future. We had a wonderful diner and a fantastic server in Vernon. We highly recommend asking for him the next time you are at Ruth's Chris. We will be back soon and certainly for Thanksgiving 2018.
Fantastic Thanksgiving meal---everything was perfectly prepared. The service was outstanding. They even supplied us with leftovers to extend the experience to the next day! This was our second visit for a Thanksgiving meal, and we would happily do it again next year.
We had a 3-course Thanksgiving meal here at this Ruth's Chris, and we really enjoyed ourselves in the very charming atmosphere of elegance. The service was top notch. Our first course and our bread serving was very good, the main course of turkey, stuffing, and side dish was excellent. The third course was good, but it would have been better to give the customers a choice of desserts without upcharge instead of only pumpkin cheesecake and any other dessert was a $4.00 upcharge. The wine was great so overall we would highly recommend this Ruth's Chris for Thanksgiving dinner, and we hope maybe next year they will give a few dessert selections without an upcharge for choosing something other than pumpkin cheesecake.
The filet was excellent and the service was good. The appetizers and side plates were unremarkable and substandard (brussels sprouts and fire-roasted corn were not up to par with lower-end restaurants; the “crab-filled” mushrooms were mostly filled with breadcrumbs, mushy, and completely below standard). The shrimp cocktail was visually impressive, with very large shrimp, but they were bland and the cocktail sauce was unremarkable). The biggest issue is the value. I have no issue spending this amount of money on high-end food; however, $300 for a dinner for two warrants something special - this is not NYC or London. Simply put, the only thing special was the quality of the filet, and that’s not sufficient to justify the exorbitant prices. Completely not worth it. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.
Always a great steak but really quite expensive since any substitutions on classic 3 course is automatic $4 charge, plus 2 double shots of regular bourbon was $60! Service at bar is always superb but drinks EXPENSIVE! Understand high prices in restaurant but Wish restaurant would really consider making it a bit more reasonable for everyday dining in the bar. Thanks,
This Special Event was for our 36th Anniversary and our son's 2nd Anniversary. We arrived at 6:00 p.m. and were sat right away. The restaurant was far from full. We were looking forward to a great dinner together since both couples share the exact same date for our anniversary's. Our son and his wife were especially looking forward to the prime rib at Ruth's Chris, since that is their favorite. Ordered drinks - that was fine, but it seemed to take forever for the waiter to come take our dinner order, but finally we ordered dinner - that was fine...so far. Moments later the waiter returned and said that all of the prime rib was already gone! Say what...this place specializes in beef, and it had only been open for 2 hours before we arrived, how could they be out of the Sunday dinner special already? Okay...this is not the waiters fault! Our son and his wife were obviously very disappointing. But...here's the clincher...the waiter suggested the El'primeo filet instead. Say what again...it was considerably more expensive and all of the sides were separate. He didn't want a filet. That seemed to set the tone for the rest of the evening. Everything that was offered throughout the evening, also came with "for $4 more" you can get...blah...blah...blah! Really...how about just getting us what we asked for and stop trying to upgrade literally everything! Our food finally came out and guess what? There was no baked potato with my son's dinner. Everyone else received everything...so do we sit and wait until his food comes out and let our food get cold? It was 5 or 6 minutes before the waiter returned and my wife asked him where the baked potato was. That's when the waiter indicated it wasn't ready yet. Another 10 minutes or so passed before it came to the table. Hummm...really! Care to guess what 4 adults at Ruth's Chris costs. Definitely, not worth the money and we are not going back to that restaurant again! Going back to Vinnie's or Angus Barn instead.
This was our first time at Ruth's Chris i brought my boyfriend for his birthday. First of all the food was fantastic and the restaurant was nice. I was under the impression he would recieve a complimentary dessert as someone told me this but our waiter didn't acknoeledge or ask him knowing it was his birthday. Also, i got the 59.99 meal and mine was to come with a dessert which it was the apple something wih the ice cream as i dont like apples i just asked for the ice cream he brought it but then i noticed on my bill i was charged for the ice cream.
Overall we had a very nice time.
We've been to this place before with GREAT experiences but this one didn't make the grade.
Service? Very, very good.
Problem? At 7:15 to 8:00 PM they were rolling tables around our dining area and when we asked about it, we're told they "were setting up for a large group FOR LUNCH the next day".
There were very few diners last night so guess they figured we didn't deserve any respect, peace or a nice dining experience.
Worst experience at RC ever.
The team at North Hills always gets it right. Some things are so good you almost have to suspend belief because they raise the bar so high. When you are celebrating a special occasion and everything has to be right, this is the place to go. Another exceptional experience.
Very disappointing....manager never stopped by our table, no one checked to see if our meal was satisfactory, which it was not. Our server was way overworked and no one helped him. The manager and 2 other servers were spending their time wiping glasses at a table across the room. Too much money to be less than satisfactory...
