My love had a wonderful time for his birthday ! My first experience at Ruth Chris was the best I would go over and over if possible ! The food was great !!!!! Amazing !!!!!!!!
We were seated out on the patio per our special request. Our table was decorated in Happy Birthday confetti which was very sweet and a thoughtful touch. On the website and on the sign on the way in to the restaurant, I noticed "proper attire required" and that the attire was business casual. When we were seated outdoors, we were seated directly next to a large group of rowdy people in shorts and t-shirts. (I get it....it's downtown and there are tourists who are staying in the hotel so you cut them a break.) What bothered me the most was that some of them were smoking. I know indoor smoking is banned in restaurants and I kind of thought that within 20 feet of a building's entrance (especially a restaurant) it was too, but I was sorely mistaken. We had to breathe in cigarette smoke all night during our dining experience. The $99 steak (porterhouse for 2) and the filet we ordered were not seasoned at all. They were cooked perfectly, but had absolutely no taste. In my opinion, there's no point in a steak that melts in your mouth if it has no flavor. Being a finer dining restaurant, no salt or pepper was provided on the table. The only redeeming thing about the experience was our service. I believe our waitress was named Susan. She was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and courteous. I've heard bad things about this location before, but I wanted to give it a chance and try it myself first hand. Next time I'll just go to the Metairie location because I've always loved Ruth's Chris, and this one bad experience won't stop me from being a fan.
Enjoyed a delicious dinner on the patio. The service was excellent; the steak cooked perfectly; & the creme brûlée was out of this world!
First time having the seafood tower. Delicious!!
We have eaten here before and had fabulous experiences. This time was disappointing. The service was slow and virtually non-existent. Our medium rare steak came out raw and our waiter told us that looked like “their medium rare”. Shocking since one of our steaks came out right and the other didn’t (both medium rare). Also we ate there before and know what medium rare is. Disappointed that he thought to lie instead of just say - sorry and take it back. They also just “re cooked” the steak we sent back. Not what you expect from “fine dining”. The dessert - apple pie cheesecake - was so incredibly inedible that we left it virtually untouched. Go to the Ruth’s in Metairie and save yourself the disappointment of what is now a sub-par Ruth’s where they no longer know what they are doing and are turning into a tourist trap - not something that is appealing when you are a local.
Best steaks in town cooked to perfection just the way ordered. Great service from our waitress.
I really had a great time for Valentine's day there.
We typically visit Ruth’s around two times per year and have always enjoyed it. Our last visit on 2/14 was just not very good. The service was top notch as usual but we found the food to be very subpar. We purchased a gift card for our friends for Christmas and they ate in January and said it was not that good and we were surprised because it was one of our favorite places. On our last visit, the steaks were not seasoned well, our stuffed mushrooms were not cooked all the way, so the mushrooms were still hard and the brussel sprouts were semi-charred and dry. The two lobster tails that came with the filet were very good! Overall, for $170 (no alcohol), we were disappointed, especially compared to previous visits. Not sure what changed, but it seems something has.
Great food and service.
Wonderful service and food as usual!
