The celebration was amazing. Our waiter was on point. The only problem I had wasn’t with them, it was the group that was sat right next to us. It was open availability but they sat them down next to us and they talked n talked and talked to where we couldn’t enjoy our moment because of that group being loud. But the overall experience from their side was amazing.

When we go to Ruth’s Chris, we like to dress up for the occasion, wearing semi-formal attire, as we treat it as a special event. I know it was during the Calgary Stampede when we dined at the restaurant, but seeing our waiter in a tattered cowboy hat, worn jeans, and a cowboy shirt detracted from the whole experience. Anytime he came to the table it made us feel like we were dining at Ranchman’s, not at an upscale restaurant. Once our coffee and dessert were served, it almost seems as if our waiter had forgotten about us. He came to our table once to offer me a refill on my coffee but by then we had finished our desserts and were ready for our bill.

Cut of steak (filet mignon) was awful. Had fat chunks in it and was chewy. Veggies were undercooked (Brussels and Broccoli) and center of scalloped potatoes were cold.

Overall, quite disappointed. I typically eat here about 2-3x a year for family occasions, and when it’s available, I regularly take-out their meals. After a ~6months hiatus, I think something has changed drastically. The service felt dull (the only smile I got from the attendant was after paying), and some of the food (mixed grill, lamb chops, crab fried rice, crab cakes), I did not enjoy at all. Everything tasted too salty! The warm welcome bread and lemon thai chicken are always a hit though. For the price it wasn’t the value for money I expected. Hoping this was a one-off.

From the host to the waiter to the management, everyone was extremely nice, friendly, professional and ensured we were looked after the entire time (added some extras for our anniversary as well). Highly recommend Ruth’s for your dining experience, especially ones that are more private or intimate and looking to enjoy amazing food/steak!

We arrived early for our reservation and were not only seated promptly, we were given our choice of seating throughout the entire restaurant. We ordered ribeyes and without a doubt was the best meat we had ever eaten. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly! The service was TOP NOTCH, the menu was explained well and everyone was very attentive. Do yourself a favour and visit this restaurant.
