   We have always enjoyed eating at Roy’s over the last 20 years. It has always been a go to spot for us. We have been to the Ko’olina location numerous times and it never disappointed and the San Diego location as well. This is our 2nd time at the one in Kona. There was no consistency with the food. We love how in the past the dishes matched perfectly with the main course. This time that option was not available due to them running out of certain dishes. This was a special occasion dinner for our daughter and there was 8 of us. We spent over $500 on our dinner and we weren’t satisfied at all compared to our past experiences. Our server was awesome, but was not backed up by the kitchen staff…As loyal customers to your company and brand we felt it necessary to let you know how our most recent experience was at your Kona location.    Very disappointed. Roy’s is one of my favorite restaurants. We have been to this Roy’s and many others many times. The restaurant chain began to decline when Outback took over. I had high hopes for the Roy’s in HI when Roy Yamaguchi bought them back. Alas this one failed miserably. The food was okay. The asparagus was overcooked and the mashed potatoes tasted instant. The romain was bitter and the blue cheese dressing was bland. My husband said his salmon was good, but he would have preferred something other than plain white rice on the side. The primary problem was the server. He was awful, never around and seemed miffed that I didn’t order what he suggested. He must have sensed my displeasure because he brought us a chocolate lava cake for dessert. We had ordered sorbet. I declined because I don’t eat chocolate (and said that) My Husband took it though and ate some of it. The server never brought the sorbet. When he finally showed up with the check I asked what happened to the sorbet. He said he would go get it. I said no thanks, we are finished. Like I said, very disappointed

   We loved Roy’s in Baltimore and were sad when it closed! Looked forward to coming to Hawaii and eating at Roy’s!! Did not disappoint! Macadamia crusted Mahi was delicious as always!

   It's not cheap here but the food is very good. Even their house wines are very good. Great service from our server Nichole. We take all our guests who visit at least one trip to Roy's. You won't ever have a bad meal here.

   We had a delicious dinner at Roy’s Waikoloa. I’ve been to better Roy’s as far as decor goes. This looked a little tired. That being said, the food and drinks were delicious and our server Nicole was lovely. She was attentive and had a charming personality and she brought us a surprise dessert - which was unexpected and delicious.

    We first dined at Roy's in 2005. This was our fourth visit. As always, it was terrific. Good food, a beautiful view, and attentive service (our server Kimo promptly addressed a minor glitch with the order). Thanks!

    Single patrons are second class here. Don’t bother asking for a nice table near the window - singles aren’t allowed to be seated there. Food was ok but not nearly as amazing as it was before Covid.

    We have been going to this location for over 15 yrs. It has sadly been a steady decline. This time was surprisingly bad: ribs appetizer they forgot the sauce (really how?), they used to bring wet towelettes to clean off after the ribs but not anymore so my napkin was a mess the entire meal, the bathrooms had no soap so I couldn’t properly wash my hands, the jade pesto fish was so badly overcooked the fish was splitting apart and completely dried out, you now get 3 small pieces of vegetables with an entree that costs over $50, the size of their famous lava cake is very small now like 4 bites, we had a dead mosquito floating in our wine so that had to go back, and they seated us at this small table next to the main hectic runway by the kitchen where wait staff were running by inches next to us. There shouldn’t have been a table placed there. We called the manager over at the end to explain what we experienced - he was nice & adjusted our bill but you could tell nothing was going to change. We have dined at all the other Roy’s on each island and this one is by far the worst. If Roy Yamaguchi walked in and saw what we experienced he would have fired half the staff on the spot. I hope he reads this so someone finally gets this location back up to the level Roy’s usually is.

    We had not dined at Roy’s since before Covid. We decided to try it again for a birthday dinner and are so glad we did! Roy’s did not disappoint in any way. The filet, pork chop, and meatloaf were prepared perfectly as were all the accompanying side dishes. Don’t forget to order the signature molten lava cake!

    Roy’s is always a spot to stop at when we’re visiting the islands. The food itself was delicious as it always is. The service was fine. The restaurant was a bit smoky from the cooking. And the menu was pretty limiting I’m terms of options vs other locations we’ve been to - would hope to see them mix things up a bit more to come back.

    Roys never disappoints. Ahi appetizer, Mac crusted Mahi, scallops, salmon and chocolate soufflés. We were happy campers when we left. Bench/booth seating wasn’t especially comfortable but otherwise an exceptional dining experience!

    Our family, party of 5 from three different states had a wonderful time! Our server was friendly, knew the menu very well, and was very attentive. The food was positively delicious, portions perfectly sized as to allow room for a scrumptious dessert! When we visit Hawaii again, we will be back!!

    Mai tai's were the best we have had for the last few visits. Probably due to less diners this time of year so they could be made from scratch. Appetizers - blackened Ahi needs a beurre blanc option - way too much mustard on current offering. We'll ask next time. Entrees - all were good and cooked properly

    This was a last minute dining experience as we saw it while golfing at Waikaloa. We were extremely pleased with the dining experience; from the maitre d’, our server Lurch, to the wait staff; such excellence in service. We started with garlic edamame. The blackened ahi was prepared with excellence and the meatloaf was onolicious. We ended our meal with the chocolate soufflé, which is a must. We will definitely come back the next time we’re in Kona.😋

    We have dined at many of the Roy's restaurants throughout the islands and the food and service is always very good. The Miso Butterfish at the Waikoloa location is fabulous and must be tried. They are also famous for their Chocolate Soufflé which is excellent if you like lava cake.

    I’ve been to several Roy’s and this was the least enjoyable experience of them all. Food was just good, not great and the menu was very limited. Server was nice. A week later we had an excellent experience at the Ko Olina location.

    My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Roy’s on our last night in Waikoloa. Our server was incredibly patient as we decided on our wine selection. We enjoyed two dinner salads and split an entree of the butterfish, which was cooked to perfection! I also thought the complimentary edamame for a starter was a nice touch. We ended our meal with a sampler of delicious sorbets. The meal preparation was solid and the staff was very attentive.
