Excellent salmon and macadamia nut mahi-mahi. Sauces with mahi-mahi delicious. Chocolate soufflé delicious. One of best meals flavor wise.
Dinner, the service & our waitress were impeccable (as always). We always make time to dine at Roy’s wherever we go if it is available. In the last 15 years we have never been disappointed with a meal or the wait staff wherever we have dined at a Roy’s restaurant.
With family on vacation.
Excellent service, food was impeccable! Great selection and options! The fish is a must always , so fresh and flavorful.
Mahi Mahi very good
Crab cakes over cooked
Chocolate souffle over cooked
Food great!! Now that they have less tables the noise level is much better.
Consistently good food. Had the signature butterfish which was cooked perfectly and quite good. The Ribeye was well prepared but not exceptional.
Great experience! Food and service.
It was great! I want to keep going back! The Ahi, anyway they prepare it is wonderful. The service is awesome. The food is the best on the coast.
Super fun place with great food and good service
The menu seems pared down, which is a bit disappointing. The service was fine, but it didn’t seem as attentive as usual. Perhaps they are keeping trips to table to a minimum. The entree and dessert were good and the pupu was okay. Overall it was good but not your typical Roy’s experience.
It was for a birthday dinner, the service was excellent however the food wasn’t anything special. The restaurant was very dated and could use an renovation.
Roy's Waikoloa is our favorite. We're so glad that they've reopened!
Love the ambiance and the staff. Arnie does a fabulous job. Food never disappoints and the bar service is top notch.
The food was great and liked the menu. It was a pleasant experience
Good food, good service, good location. Lilikoi martini is a must!
Very friendly and courteous staff. Service is incredible. Food always prepared perfectly. COVID precautions taken very seriously. Delightful place for a meal.
Great food! We had someone in our party who had an allergy to seafood and almost every dish had an element of seafood in it other than the ribs so would have been nice to have more non-seafood options. But we all enjoyed it very much!
A real disappointment. We have been to several Roy’s and it’s always been a treat. Tonight felt like a visit to an expensive Red Lobster. Felt like low end cruise ship food with similar ambiance and service. Too bad.
Very glad to be back at Roy's for dinner. Food and wine were excellent. Server #101 was far below the usual Roy's standard. Messed up cocktails, had trouble telling us about menu, did not get wine to table until we were half way through dinner, forgot a dessert, etc.
We will be back but hope for a better server next time.
Overall a lively dinner. Ambiance a little boring. Service pretty good. Food an A+.
Everything was just a bit below the standards of the many other Roy's where we have eaten except the food was still great.
Came here two times during my stay on the island. Each time was wonderful. Reservations are highly recommended due to covid restrictions. It’s good for a nicer meal on the island. Service is wonderful.
New year’s dinner celebration
Great food and cocktails
Excellent food & service. However, room acoustics bad when restaurant at capacity. Diners voices are too loud and little kid's screams & cries annoying
Food and service is always amazing at Roy’s! Courtney is awesome and so is Arnie, the GM. Roy’s is one of our favorite date night restaurants. I had the scallops, which was incredible and my husband had the meatloaf loco moco, which he enjoyed. Always order the soufflé!
Excellent food. Love the butterfish- tender and delicious! Chocolate souffle was perfect!
Fish dishes were excellent but the Mixed Grill and meatloaf were not enjoyed by our party. The ambiance is ok but for the price, we expected better food.
Roy’s is one of the special place we visit when we come to Hawaii. We had wonderful experiences at the Maui and Oahu locations so naturally we wanted to dine at the Big Island one. We started our dinner with the ahi nachos - definitely a must try if you like poke. The mekajiki (swordfish) was spectacular! It was tender yet flavorful. The macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi was also a winner. Can’t go wrong with either one. The kitchen was running behind so service was a little slow. But our server kept us updated and even gave us free dessert to thank us for our patience. That was unexpected but grately appreciated. Even though they were busy everyone was very friendly and professional. Definitely recommend Roy’s !
We had an amazing experience for Christmas dinner. We sat at the bar and the bartender, Brandon, suggested an absolutely amazing fish dish for myself. I can’t eat Mahi Mahi so he suggested another fish if they had it. Then I was torn between it and the dynamite scallops so he suggested I get the fish cooked dynamite style. Oh man was he not wrong. The best fish meal I’ve had on the Big Island. We come to this restaurant every time we’re here and they never disappoint. Another successful experience while on vacation. Thanks Roy’s!
Spring rolls were excellent. Superb cucumber vodka gimlet special
Lovely Christmas dinner!!! We had a very nice time and all our courses were wonderful!
Ordered pineapple upside down cake for desert. Some type of mix up. Didn’t arrive.
This was Christmas Day and we came for an early family meal. It started out strange when we ordered sparkling water and were told they had none. No explanation. The waiter seemed listless. The food was extremely mediocre and not just some dishes, but almost all. The spring rolls were very salty and otherwise bland, the sauce tasted bottled. Our blackened ahi had a dreadful sauce with no flavor and was cold. The shrimp pasta was very overdone and, again, bland and very unappetizing on the plate. The only dish that was halfway decent were the appetizer ribs but even they were bland. Too bad because all the other meals we’ve had in Hawaii have been excellent...
I felt like we had a new waitress. The whole dining experience was disjointed. Waiting at times for food or drink. We got the wrong dessert. It just didn’t flow well. The entrees have gotten smaller and my husband said “there was more fat than meat on the lamb”. Not sure if we’ll go back with those kind of prices.
EXCELLENT food, very accommodating staff, knowledgeable waiters. Made for a memorable meal on Christmas Eve.
Everyone was nice, food was good. More info about choices would be nice.
Food was fabulous. The wild board Rangoon were very good. We had steak and blackened ahi tuna. Both were excellent. Drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. The chocolate souffle was the perfect way to end the night.
