    The food was overall delicious. My husband had the miso butterfish which is always a hit. I had the short ribs which were tender and flavorful; however it tasted like chuck pot roast rather than short ribs. They are boneless so maybe that is why. Just a little bit disappointed. Regarding service the server seemed a bit detached. No refills offered on Coke drink. No pouring of my sparkling bottled water that was in a ice bucket with a cloth napkin as if that was the service I should expect. The server also seemed flustered about handling a tip where my food was covered by a gift card soI just gave him cash instead of my credit card. It just felt un accommodating. But the server did the basics.

    Food was just ok. No view to speak of and we were sat at a tiny, "booth for 2". We shared an appetizer, shared an entree and shared dessert (the chocolate soufflé was good but didn't have a "gooey" center, maybe overcooked?) I had 2 sidecars, which were delicious. They did a great job with those, and my husband had a beer. With tax and gratuity, our bill was over $200. It was all a bit underwhelming. If they had an amazing view or something, maybe? Service was excellent, so I am a bit sad to give a not-so-stellar review. Very popular with families with small children, maybe a plus if that is what you are looking for.

    The food was absolutely amazing at Roy’s. The service was also fantastic. I highly recommend making a reservation and enjoying a great meal here.

    The Waikiki Combo was amazing! Our server was so great and the water boy was on top of it! Will definitely be coming back to Roy’s when we come next year!
