   Has a visitor in from Texas who wanted to eat local fish. I took him to Roy’s and we had a magical evening. The fish was fresh and delicious.

   Wonderful food and service! I’m not sure why some people are so loud, but it certainly isn’t Roy’s fault.

   The restaurant was very noisy with their open kitchen arrangement. We could not hear our waiter when he spoke. He almost seemed shy and awkward. Food was good.

   Roy’s has a well-deserved reputation for blending creative approaches to dishes with outstanding presentation, taste and quality ingredients. Our fish dishes were exceptional, kitchen timing perfect (not too rushed with sufficient space between courses). Service was attentive but not overly intrusive. Blackened ahi appetizer was plentiful and sashimi quality great. Butterfish always great, and it did at our dinner at the original Roy’s Waikiki. Roy’s is expensive, but it aligns with the quality and service.

   As others have noted it’s very noisy and the ambience is more high end fiber than fine dining. The food is good but the menu warns 40 minutes if you order sushi or sashimi - really kind of ridiculous. Then we were seriously rushed. I would not go back

   QUICK REVIEW: Nice place, Great service, Cuisine always top rate. Indoor and outdoor seating. Solid 5 Stars. Highly Recommend. Yes, we will be back. LONGER REVIEW: We travel extensively, and have been to various Roy's locations 40+ times over the decades. Always love to come back. SERVICE: Seated promptly at reservation time at a booth by request. MaIke - our main server - was Awesome. He was there when you needed him, with a great attitude and advice. Nice job! FOOD and COCKTAILS. Had a Hawaiian Martini and a Red wine by the glass. All very yummy. Nice wine and sake list by the glass and bottle. BBQ Baby back ribs to table share, Macadamia crusted Swordfish, and the "Waikiki Combo". Fish and spareribs with different preps. All perfectly cooked, and nothing left on the plate. Very, very tasty. The Lava Cake - all gone. OVERALL: Roy's Waikiki is always a go-to place when in Oahu. Highly recommend. YES, we would go back. Worth the little walk in Waikiki.

   One of the best seafood restaurants in America. You have to eat at one in Hawaii to get the freshest fish in my opinion.

    It was our second visit but first time for lunch service and it was top tier. The burger and the kohala kooler were amazing.
