The Roy's Waikiki Team
Sweet Ginger Wasabi Butter
Pineapple Upside Down Cake
The food was astonishingly bad.
For the price, it was among the worst ever restaurant meals.
Overcooked and horribly seasoned asian prep of mahi mahi
Overcooked, dry and nearly inedible braised beef
Crab cakes without much crab
The only tasty item for party of 3 was the Zuchini app.
Our table was in a room that reminded us of a deserted banquet hall. Absolutely no character whatsoever
Absolutely lovely. Especially recommend the short ribs.
Food was outstanding
Fantastic all around.
The food was delicious. I had the short rib and my husband had a sushi roll. Service was good but the ambiance was like a Denny’s. Very loud and tables far apart so I felt like it was not very private.
Exceptional. Fixed menu and wine pairings were excellent. Staff attention to detail was outstanding.
Diva & her team @ Roy’s continues to completely knock it out of the park ever time we dine with them! It’s been 37.5 years since we’ve been dining w them! The food is beautiful and so Ono!! The service is the best anywhere in Hawaii!! We return every week to wake up our taste buds! This time we brought 6 guests including our daughter & grandchildren from Bend, OR. The feast & desserts 🍮 weee extraordinary!! Mahalo Nui Loa Diva!! You are a ROCK ⭐️!!
The food was fabulous and the service superb. The grass Tiki hut type table outside was horrible. We sat where we almost had to face a dumpster. The outdoor furniture could be updated to match the prices they charge! Then they seated a party of 9 next to us 2 where we couldn't even hear us talk to each other.
Always a pleasure to dine at Roy's. Hadn't been to the Waikiki location. Now I can add it to my " been there" list. Food and drink was wonderful as always. Can't wait to come back again!
Outstanding food and service. Overall a great experience.
Very nice dinner with wonderful service! Had lovely food!
Roy’s does not disappoint. Food is as good as ever. Service is good. Food comes out quickly. Reliable for a good meal in Waikiki. Prices have gone up and it looks like portion sizes have shrunk.
Enjoyed excellent sushi and butterfish!
The menu is horrible. This is not Roy Yamaguchi’s place anymore. I should have researched better. I’ve always dreamed of coming to original Roy’s and I didn’t find out until I got there that they’re got bought out. We had a fried zucchini bao for a starter that I easily could have made at home. I was a bit tired of fish, noodles and rice, so i ended up having meatloaf that was mediocre at best and again, something I could make at home. Food sucked but the service was very good. Hence, the two stars.
Excellent food and service!
Had only eaten at Roys Hawaii Kai, and it was always during times of special holiday menu choices. Was not impressed. Actually was very disappointed. So for several years i had no interest in ever going to Roys. But after receiving a gift card for Roys, i decided to give it another chance but chose to try the Waikiki location. I expected it to be just as bad or worse than before. I was wrong. It was the standard menu choices and everything my wife and i had ordered was really good! The table service was fantastic, and I was thoroughly impressed. Completely changed my mind about Roys.
The food and service were excellent, however we were seated in what appeared to be an overflow area when the restaurant was basically empty. Was it because we made reservations thru OpenTable???
2 out of the 3 meals were below average. Although the service was good, it was very slow. Would not recommend the steak.
Over rated and over priced without a doubt.
We loved our dinner at Roy’s, Gianna was great and very helpful. Our drinks were never empty, staff was friendly, and food was quick and fantastic.
The best meal I have had in a long time. The Mac nut crusted Mahi was amazing as was the hand made lobster ravioli. Service was great and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend for a date night in Waikiki. We will definitely be back!
Food was good and some of it was just ok. Not enough portions available for certain dishes, menu is still short on options. Service was excellent however and we enjoyed our time together more so than the actually meals.
Despite the poor reviews, we had a very good meal at Roy’s. We ordered the Korean baby back ribs that were delicious and butterfish was quite tasty and seasoned well. We loved the edamame that was served as we sat down
The food is delicious and well prepared. Great taste combinations.
Thank you for a wonderful food experience
Thank you for the great service
The food was excellent. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Noticed the prices have gone up quite a bit since we last went there before the start of the COVID pandemic. It will be hard for a lot of people to enjoy the food because of how expensive they are now. If you can afford it, it is really good.
Our first meal after getting married! Major bummer… the salmon wasn’t cooked and made us both sick through the night. We ordered the Classic Trio. Our biggest upset was the soufflé. We LOVE the soufflé! We try to recreate the recipe at home and always fail. It is such a treat to come to Roy’s and order a perfect soufflé with a molten center. Ours came thoroughly cooked and had no oozing chocolate. I mentioned the uncooked salmon and the bummer in the soufflé to our waiter. He said “Oh, sorry” and nothing more. We love Roy’s and will be back, but probably not to this location anytime soon…
Service was amazing, fish was bland, steak was fatty and tuna appetizer was also bland. Would not recommend for the price.
We were very excited to go back to Roy’s. We hadn’t been to Hawaii in 5 years. It’s very disappointing when every time you go to a restaurant you are seated in the back corner. Especially when we booked the reservation weeks in advance. Also, Roy’s used to serve a bread basket before the meal and we asked for it. We would have paid for it. We had 4 people in our party and ordered 3 appetizers and 4 entrees. We weren’t trying to get something for free. We wanted some bread. We were told it would take over 40 minutes. We ate our appetizers, then they put butter in our table before our entrees arrived. We received one piece of baguette each after our eating our entrees. Don’t be cheap. Just put a bread basket on the menu. Overall the food wasn’t as good as I remembered.
We made this reservation 1 month in advance.
Our table was back by the kitchen, we asked for outside and they said minimum 1 hour wait.
Noisy and dinner was over cooked.
The outstanding service at Roy's was exceeded only by its exceptionally good food. We will return!
Great Experience! Service was great! Food was excellent! And the desserts were wonderful! Love eating here!
Tasty food and nice place. Would reccomend!
The Mai Tai’s are the best we’ve ever had! Please share the recipe!!! The food was superb! We will definitely look forward to coming back!
Wonderful place for a dinner for two. Excellent food and service.
53 anniversary meal very pleasant
Decent food and service. They need to improve their wine list and dinner choices. Definitely not for the budget minded.
Absolutely stunning meal, presentation and preparation were spot on. You need to treat yourself to this delightful establishment.
Chewy steak. Super salty orzo
