Always enjoy our experience at Roy's restaurant. The presentation is beautiful, and the food so good. One of our favorite places.

We have been dining at Roy's for about 8 years; they used to be a wonderful restaurant with impeccable and professional service, fresh and perfectly prepared food We've been regulars and have probably dined at Roy's nearly 80 times, so I believe that we can say with authority that the Roy's of today only has the name in common with the Roy's of yesteryear. 1 constant has been Joe: expediter, kitchen manager - the last of the Mohicans. He has always been imbued with that genuine Ohana charm and friendliness that embodies the Roy's brand. GM Josh appears to be doing his very best to captain a sinking ship. On Feb. 8 we dined there and were seated in a booth. Again, we have been there around 80 (maybe more?) times, so all the staff know us by sight and name. The floor manager, Joy, came by and leaned in and in a conspiratorial tone inquired if she could ask us about something. Imagine how stunned we were when she asked us if we would be willing to vacate the booth and have our drinks and meals brought over to a table in the back of the restaurant so she could accommodate a couple who really wanted a booth. Seeing our hesitation, she offered to throw in a $50 gift certificate. We were so shocked that we just nodded at her and then wondered what had just transpired. The food has gone downhill, as well. All too frequently, we have had to send meals back as they have been under-cooked. Last night, both my wife's salmon and my burger (first time tying one there, by the way) were raw. Her salmon was flavorless whereas in the past, it has been marinated in Roy's special teriyaki sauce, which was delicious. The namasu had not been pickled at all: it tasted like crisp cucumbers in a vinegar wash. I will say that the bartender was great; she made a perfect martini, and Joe, ever the emissary of classic Roy's ohana, bought us a round. Mahalo, Joe!

To Roy's I sadly say, Aloha - it's been fun.

I have been to Roy's on numerous occasions and the dining experience has been great. However, my recent experience left me very disappointed and in all honesty very frustrated. The noise level in the restaurant made it very difficult to speak with the people I was dining with let alone practically impossible to speak to and hear the wait staff. We ordered an appetizer which never arrived and there appeared to be significant confusion on the part of the wait staff when this was brought to their attention. Part way through our entrees we ordered the soufflé, which is excellent. One for everyone at the table. When desert arrived, we were served one soufflé for three people, seriously. Now I don't want to single out any of the staff and the majority of our issues stemmed from the noise level in the restaurant and just not being able to communicate without feeling like we were yelling, but the cost of a meal for three was not worth the disappointment and frustration. I will say the food that we were served was excellent.

Roys in our home city has always been a favorite over many yrs. This time we were In Tampa & found a Roys very close to our hotel. Like our "usual Roys" we found the food, service, decor, all to be awesome. Like other Roys, best Mai Tai's outside of Hawaii. Overall a great evening. Food was terrific. I have eaten at Roys in several different locations and never been disappointed. Consistently great place in every respect, especially the quality of food.

From the moment we got there, they were Very courteous. Our waiter was very courteous and friendly. The food was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends.

One of the best filets I have ever had - cooked to perfection! My husband had Roy's Trio and was also very pleased with his meal. I would definitely recommend for a nice night out. Great wine list and prices were not insane.

The prices were high end but the food was not. Also, the food came out luke warm. The manager did provide us with gift cards.

First time eating at Roy’s and had a great dining experience. Waiter was very attentive and steered us towards some of his favorite dishes that did not disappoint! Appetizers, food, and dessert each came out fast and hot. Also would say the jalapeño margarita was probably the best I’ve ever had!
Little pricey, but certainly worth it for a nice date night out.

This is the first time we have ever sent food back due to poor cut of meat and poor cooking technique, only to have an even WORSE replacement. Also, the Ahi was fatty and the Salmon did not look fresh. Cannot believe a Beard awarded Chef allows such inferior products into his kitchen!
