RockCreek Seafood & Spirits
Our menu centers around globally sourced seafood from well managed fisheries; with offerings of local Northwest familiars like crab, oysters and mussels, to more tropical fish like Kona Kampachi or Hawaiian Ono, and East Coast staples like Striped Bass. Our preparations emphasize fresh ingredients that arrive daily, and pronounced flavors from around the world.
Our urban-industrial two-story ‘fishing lodge’ was built with local and reclaimed resources by Dovetail Construction and Marian Built. Our tables were crafted from bark-beetle pine, and we even found a home for our favorite re-purposed farm equipment! Our space includes the main dining area, our killer bar, a large modern patio and an upstairs loft and private dining room.
Creative dishes, great quality fish, delicious cocktails, and knowledgeable staff. Also loved the decor. My only complaint is that we were seated on the first floor and got a big wave of cold air every time someone came in or out - I will definitely plan to go back but next time would request the upstairs in cold weather, unless they put up a curtain in the entryway.
Overall outstanding; food, service, ambiance!! Can’t wait to come back.
Also a special thank you to the amazing staff for accommodating us due to some last minute changes with our reservation. Highly recommend!
Open concept, post and beam architecture with few soft surfaces means noise abounds here and when the door opens a chill runs through the restaurant, yet it's comfortable environment, great food and excellent service more than make up for this. For someone who is a seafood eating "vegan", this place offers many choices and I'll be back.
Nice anniversary spot or any special occasion
My favorite restaurant in Seattle.
Great service as always and outstanding food.
Everything was great, the scallops were outstanding!
Poached eggs were dry and overcooked. Heavily seasoned with too much salt. Waiter was not to be found until he asked for the check. Explained the issues and absolutely nothing done. Not even an apology.
Sunday brunch was everything it should be! The Benedicts were delicious and light. The Cinnamon Roll was glutinously large with delicious orangey cream cheese icing. Take friends and enjoy!
This quickly became a favorite when we lived in the neighborhood, and remains our favorite restaurant in Seattle. The food is always delicious, and incredibly reasonable given the high quality and being in Seattle. The small plates are the perfect size for smaller stomachs, or share a few.
This was our second time here and the food was quite good and the drinks excellent. The only negatives were that the server was a bit brusque (and not very attentive) and the noise was so loud that conversation was difficult.
Outstanding foodie experience. We shared a couple of small plates to start - tuna tartare and chargrilled octopus - both were wonderful. For entrees my husband and son ate fish and I had a beautiful Caesar salad. Everything was extremely tasty and the service was impeccable. We will return!
No view but quality fish and seafood. Our 8 months pregnant server guided us expertly. We share all dishes and realized after we ordered, we ordered one dish too many. She was able to cancel one that would have been too protein heavy. We ordered three kinds of oysters on the half shell to start off and the Silver Hilton and the Woolly Bugger cocktails to wash them down. Sublime. Next was the Crispy Fried Smelt with a tangy aioli sauce, so good I could have eaten them all! The Chilean Seabass that our server said was one of her favorites melted in your mouth, so perfectly cooked it was. We finished with the Barbecued Spanish Octopus that was excellent and quite filling. No room for desserts but we can't wait to return.
Amazing! Best seafood!!
My favorite dish at Rock Creek is the black cod. It must be out of season right now so they had the same presentation but sea bass. Black cod is better. We also had the Arctic char which was outstanding. I look forward to returning soon when the black cod is in season.
Our waitress Nicole was fabulous. Very knowledgeable and personable. We will definitely dine here again and hope to get Nicole.
Dinner was very good, excellent and creative dishes. The Kari our Calamari was a bit sopped in sauce , and needs a tad more calamari ? Overall , great execution of seafood and key lime pie in a cup ! Overall the restaurant was freezing , and never got temperate . Everyone had their coats on for the entire meal ! Made the great food a bit less enjoyable ..
Was there for brunch. The service upstairs was spotty (had to ask for coffee and coffee refill), however the food was tasty.
We’ve never had a bad meal Aaron Rock Creek. Creative presentations of fantastically fresh fish
One of our Seattle favorites. Never disappoints. You could randomly pick anything on the menu and it would be great. Also appreciate the wonderful - and frequently updated - wine list that gives us a chance to try some new ones. Servers are excellent as well.
Consistently excellent. We've been coming here for years and are never disappointed. We love the mackerel salad, cauliflower salad, calamari, black cod, shrimp and grits...everything's good and the bartenders are great at inventing cocktails for us to try.
Love the place but the last two times we got stuck upstairs at a tiny table in the corner. It was early and the place was less then half full. It was for a birthday so a nicer table would have been awesome.
Our first visit to Rock Creek was absolutely perfect. Started with cocktails. Well prepared. We then shared the cauliflower and shrimp appetizers. They were delicious. Followed by our main courses and everyone loved their food. So many great twists on seafood. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and unfortunately, can’t remember her name (sorry but she was pregnant) and she made our visit exceptional. Rock Creek is a gem!
Great food! Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes.
Everything was good, but one observation. Despite informing the restaurant that it was my wife’s bday, there was absolutely no acknowledgement whatsoever. The food was delicious, but I can’t recommend this restaurant for a special occasion dinner. In other words, nothing special here.
I’ve had brunch at Rock Creek twice and it is outstanding. The beignets are sublime and the fired hen with jalapeño corn cakes was equally as good.
We were visiting from out of town so decided to experiment with as many dishes we could. We sat in the lower level which offers casual, yet warm atmosphere. All of the dishes we ordered were very good.
What turned into a problem and a great disappointment was the bar/drinks service. Our first order of drinks didn’t appear until we were done with first round of appetizers, and that was after I told the waitress (twice!) that we will just forget it and get a bottle of wine. It didn’t get any better as the night progressed and additional beverages were ordered. No apology either.
Exceptional food and service. Great for families. The oysters were amazing as well as the other dishes. We will be back.
Best seafood in Seattle. Scallops are otherworldly
Already the best seafood in Seattle and now making its case brunch.
RockCreek had a varied and interesting seafood menu with a few meat And alternative entrees. Our fish dishes were perfectly prepared and aesthetically very pleasing...it was hard to choose. Desserts were wonderful also. Wait staff and service were thoughtful and impeccable. On hearing it was my birthday, our Server brought my dish with a birthday candle. We used a ride share but I think you could typically find street parking within a few blocks. Had a great time and have already recommended the restaurant to family.
Birthday. It was wonderful
Great ambiance...the food is quite interesting and good, very salty however. I would say it's a little tad on the expensive side for what you get. Don't come starving.
I love this restaurant, but gave lower than usual stars for a couple reasons. First is that I was seated at a table with very cool air blowing all evening on a cold and rainy night. I was unable to take off my coat the entire time we were there (about 2 hours). Second reason is while I have always loved the food here, I didn't choose wisely this time and was not as fond of the food. One shared item was chosen by my guest, and was not one I would have chosen anyway, but my own meal was a little overcooked and lacked flavor and appealing texture. I will definitely try again another time, but was definitely disappointed this time around.
This is a great restaurant but it is so loud it is impossible to converse. It sure would be nice if they could add noise mitigation.
Very fast & attentive service! Ambiance is inviting. All of our dishes were delicious! We’ll be back
In my humble opinion this is the best fish restaurant in Seattle. It’s also in my top 5 restaurants in Seattle. When in season get the black cod. When not they often do a sea bass or similar in the same preparation. Bonkers good.
This place is consistently excellent. I would highly recommend.
I thought the prices were fair, food was good, the service attentive and the vibe creative just nothing really stood out as special leaving me wanting to find something better in Seattle.
Had three apps and two small plates split between two people.... Would give 5 star for all but clams... okay but not great... key lime pie awesome... waitress great very attentive. .... would definitely return.....
