RockCreek Seafood & Spirits
Our menu centers around globally sourced seafood from well managed fisheries; with offerings of local Northwest familiars like crab, oysters and mussels, to more tropical fish like Kona Kampachi or Hawaiian Ono, and East Coast staples like Striped Bass. Our preparations emphasize fresh ingredients that arrive daily, and pronounced flavors from around the world.
Our urban-industrial two-story ‘fishing lodge’ was built with local and reclaimed resources by Dovetail Construction and Marian Built. Our tables were crafted from bark-beetle pine, and we even found a home for our favorite re-purposed farm equipment! Our space includes the main dining area, a large modern patio and an upstairs loft and private dining room.
- Surfaces sanitized between seatings
- Common areas deep cleaned daily
- Digital, disposable or sanitized menu provided
- Sealed or wrapped utensils used
- Limited number of seated diners
- Distancing maintained in common areas
- Extra space between tables
- Waitstaff wear masks
- Diners must wear masks unless eating or drinking
- Sick staff prohibited in the workplace
Not up to usual standards across the board. We absolutely love RockCreek in general, and have been devoted fans for years so it saddens me to write this review. Our whole grilled Tai snapper was dominated by a totally overpowering Chinese 5 spice type glaze that permeated and spoiled the flavor of the delicate white meat. Tombo tuna tartare didn't sing as it usually does (missing the spicy, peppery horseradish notes) and the grilled Yellowfin w/salsa verde lacked any interest--no depth or bite to the salsa verde so the end effect was just meh. The Ichiban oysters were divine and the mignonette, happily, as delicious as ever. Was this just an off night in the kitchen? We've had so many excellent dishes through the years so I feel it's only fair to return once more and give it a last shot, but $500 (4 persons) is too much to spend on a special meal gone wrong, so will only recommend w/caution.
Our server Lacy was fabulous! She made great recommendations and was quick to refill water and get us some bread when we sat down. The seared tuna, monkfish and the sea bass were excellently prepared and delicious! Leave room for dessert. This restaurant will not disappoint.
Amazing food! Great servers
Chilean Seabass… Wonderful. Chocolate mousse… Heavenly.
Food, menu, service + ambiance was all outstanding. The hostess was not our favorite—was a bit impatient and rude with us even though it was not busy in the restaurant at the time of our arrival. Nevertheless, the rest of our time was fantastic and we enjoyed several courses. All around wonderful experience and looking forward to returning.
It was very loud and slightly chaotic when we checked in, but there was a large party in the upstairs private dining room. Service, possibly because of that, was slow. Took us over 30 min to get our drinks (glasses of wine, only 1 cocktail.) Also, possibly because of the large party, the upstairs restroom ran out of both toilet paper and paper towels. My suggestion is if there is a large party, don’t have that same server wait other tables upstairs, and have someone check on the restroom throughout the evening.
They need to put veggies on the plate. A very beige looking entree came out. It was tasty but screaming for color. It was blackened mahi-mahi with grits. Very expensive for such little portions.
Overall service and food were solid. The small plates and apps were all great especially the octopus and mackerel salad. We got the more traditional mussels app with white wine sauce and it was only so so. Oysters were of course delicious. My entree however was bad news bears. I got the tai snapper. The portion is huge so that is good considering it’s $42 but all I could taste was salt. Literally nothing else. I honestly should have sent it back.
great happy fun ty for 50 letters yes enough????????????
Our first time in, and certainly won’t be our last.
Everything was amazing!
We enjoyed another excellent meal: sea bass with parsnip purée was outstanding.
My partner had the sea bass and it was excellent.I had the whole grilled rock fish.when the waitress went to flay it was under cooked so she took it back and finished cooking it.Upon return there were lots of little bones left in it and honestly it looked a mess.It also had an over powering smoky taste so I would not recommend it.I fill like I should have been compensated for it but I wasn’t offered that opportunity. So I am sad to say my experience was not what I had expected and especially for the price I had to pay for the meal.
The seafood dishes are fantastic, the one pasta dish was so good! Wish there’re more salads.
Overall, a good quality restaurant, but nothing to write home about.
Small plates are so tasty. Definitely recommend the octopus. Don’t skip dessert either!
Amazing meal! Great service
Great service, exceptional food. Was a tad chilly inside with the garage door open. Would certainly return. Cocktails were on point as well
Excellent ....small plates were perfect for sharing to start; so many craft cocktails to choose from; pacific coast oysters were a treat.....hamachi crudo....everything....Waitstaff was so knowledgable and friendly. Space was warm and smells like gentle mesquite....thank you for an awesome evening.
Always great meal. Can get a little chilly with open door, but ok so far!! Will be back!!
One of the best restaurants in Seattle. Great food & service. Lots of choice to choose from weather you are an adventurous eater or more picky. You cannot go wrong. Highly recommend.
Loved the Hamachi crudo, Chilean Seabass, and Norwegian Mackeral salad. Excellent deals on Happy Hour too.
Group of four out for some highly rated seafood.
Two had the sea bass- excellent.
One pasta with vegetables- excellent.
One had shrimp and grits- good.
Grits very coarse ground not what I am familiar with. Bite to bite had wildly varying spice/ heat levels.
Cocktails were interesting- excellent
We love going to Rock Creek, it's within walking distance from our home but even if it weren't, we would come here for an amazing meal. It has the best seafood and other menu items in Seattle, with thoughtful and imaginative preparations, perfectly executed.
Excellent meal in Seattle! The Rockefeller oyster in tamarind butter and bacon (suggested by our server) was absolutely lovely, as was the black cod (signature) entree. Dessert was unremarkable.
Food was amazing!! Being that I’m from New Orleans, trust me I know! The sea bass sauce was to die for. Absolutely delicious and service was incredible.
Everything was wonderful, from the host stand, to the server … but OMG the food! Three of us shared four small plates, a side, bread and dessert. For better or worse we could not resist eating every last morsel. It was more than enough food … I blame it on our 18 year old son.
Absolutely wonderful food. The three of us each had a different entree and each one was excellent. The seafood is so good from oysters, sea bass, mahi mahi and the delicious, crammed full of seafood, stew. We finished with beignets that were the best. Can’t say enough good things.
The swordfish lacked flavor. Black cod is always out, even at 7:30 PM (this was our third time this year).
It was a great dining experience with excellent seafood and outdoor seating.
Fabulous food with a relaxed atmosphere. Might have to park a couple blocks away.
Everything was great. We had the oysters, bursts with heirloom tomatoes, BBQ octopus and sour dough bread for appetizers; entrees were sea bass, black cod, and the lamb ragout. Everything was very good.
As always, Rockcreek delivers excellent service and phenomenal food.
Time after time... when we visit RockCreek it's ALWAYS OUR FAVORITE!!
Everything is always amazing.. The only thing we wish is they would open another location in Bend, OR!! It would absolutely THRIVE!!!
Will always be our favorite place ever!!
ROCKCREEK NEVER DISAPPOINTS. Top notch creatively prepared food and excellent service, backed by an varied wine list, a great bar, and good atmosphere. The Kari Out Calamari remains a classic opener and there is a big, warming open fire pit to encourage Autumn dining on the deck. What's not to like. Go, eat, drink, talk, enjoy!
Perfect evening with friends. We shared many dishes and tried delicious cocktails. Everything was impeccable. Can't wait to come back.
Amazing!! Love the space and all food was stellar
So delicious! Food was great, wine was fantastic, and service was awesome.
Fantastic food! One of the best I have ever been!
Excellent food! The Chilean Sea Bass was particularly to die for.
Great oysters and food. Just not worth the price it’s worth. Try somewhere else for more for your buck.
